    How do you get the titan 10 bit 8k to look so sharp? Im curious of the stitch settings and premiere/davinci settings

    I'm using Quest 2 to view VR videos captured from Vuze. Is it an overkill to use Obsidian S or Pro to film a VR video. I mean it is worthwhile to upgrade because of the limitation of Quest display?

    Thank you for your (generally) great reviews! Please, for one of my students' project, we are looking after the StereoPi. Please what do you think of it? Would it be good for live streaming? Thank you for your opinion!

      Dear Wolfgang,
      the stereopi 1 i still more of a trial. it work to get a live stream but unfotunatley ist the video compression max of the pi 3 at 1920x1080 in total, so you get for each eye only half of FullHD... I´m waiting for my stereopi 2 wich woll be able to compress up to 4k, but still, for both eyes.

    This video suggest downloading and then sideloading the video onto Quest 2. I don't see a download link in your description. Interested in how these images appear from the video files compared to RUclips. Haven't seen this video available yet on your Oculus channel.

      Oh, I see now in the description that only a Master Class student can get access to the download. Gotcha!

    Thanks Hugh. The Titan seems a lot clearer but neither are being used in optimum light conditions and neither are AI sharpened either which still makes them both look slightly blurred. But that was the test I guess, to see which would fare better in low light. Somewhat strange but the Titan seems to make people look like midgets or at least smaller than real life. Or at least, that is the impression I got when I watched on OQ2. The clip on the beach looked very nice btw. Very low light but still clear and sharpish.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 года назад

      Yes that Titan tend to do that. But this can be address if stitch in Mistika VR.

    Nice, thanks for doing this!, I just made a test integrating 180 3d video (keyed) into a sphere of the 360 Titan and looks good, as soon as I can share I will.

    None of these clips look very sharp, It could be that I'm so used to shooting traditional video with the Arri Mini. I've used the Pro 2 a few times and anything other than daylight is start dramatically falling apart.
    It's almost like seeing DV cam footage.
    Is it the RUclips compression, Does it look sharp right out of the camera?

    Are you color correcting the pro 2 footage? Is that straight from camera?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 года назад +1

      That is straight from the camera for all footage here (not the music video of course)

    A great glimpse at the two cameras!
    What’s the deal with the stitching? Is there a way to avoid that distortion? I noticed when the woman walked around the room there was distortion where the cameras stitched. Is there a way to remove this? Is it only a problem with the Insta360 Pro 2?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 года назад +1

      This is Titan - Pro 2 will be less optical artifacts. It shows blocking in 360 is important - talent should not work cross stitch line.

    Hi,
    I have a question about you as a specialist in this matter.
    As of today, what camera for 3D 360 video recording would you recommend in a budget of up to $ 3000? The purpose is to record rooms / labs / shops. I consider as the first camera: Insta360 pro, Qoocma 8K, kandao obsidian go. Which of them will work best and will give the best quality, resolution (sharpness) and the least noise. I will be grateful for your opinion. Greetings.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 года назад +2

      Qoocam 8K is not a 3D camera BTW. I won't use any of them to be honest. I will wait Obsidian Pro come out and people will drop their Obsidian R and then you can buy them for lower than $3000 - still one of my all time favorite camera for professional 3D content.

      @@hughhou Thanks for the tips. It gave a lot to think about. I have one more question for you.
      Ok. If we don't want to enter 3D 360, and need only 360-degree video indoors, with the same parameters that I asked about earlier, which camera would you recommend? Will then Qoocam 8K be a good option compared to others, larger sensor, 10 bits in video etc? Which (new from shop) camera will give the best image quality and do a good job in weaker light inside? Thanks for your help!

    I am watching in VR and noticed the subject seems smaller in the Titan shots compared to Pro 2, anyone else has getting or know what may be causing it?

    • @happytoilet1
      @happytoilet1 2 года назад

      maybe because the distance between cameras is larger.

  • @evolicious

    Honestly they both look awful, res is far too low and the bitrate isn't high enough to capture enough details to make this worth it over just have a nice cam and an operator swinging it around.

      We don't have new better camera to replace these tho. These are the best highend 3D 360 camera now that is not causing $40,000+

    I think you're still using the term "stitching" incorrectly when talking about stereoscopic video. Lens spacing and alignment is not a matter of stitching. It isn't two images being stitched together into one, it is a matter of alignment of two separate video channels. The term stitching is a metaphor of sewing together pieces of cloth into one. The metaphor fails when applied to stereo, they aren't stitched into one, your brain does that!

    • @hughhou

      Stitching / Stitcher are still terms using in the industry when looking for someone put 6 or 8 fisheyes together into an immersive 3D 360 video. What is a better term now instead of stitching?
