I may be 2 years late to this video, but I've always been fascinated by the Vita and finally decided to get one. This is one of the most helpful videos for me.
This may be the best idea for when I finally get a vita. I was blown away by this video man! I didn’t even consider the restrictions from Sony when it came to trying to stream or record from the PS tv. Sony has always been a stickler about that. But us in the community found a way around the PS3 debacle and now we’ve found a way around the Vita! So amazing dude! Absolutely stellar work and very informative! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
This is really cool! I’ve thought of modding my Vita, and this is definitely a reason to. I personally didn’t love my Vita due to many of the games not really standing out much for me, but I can see why many still love it! Great video man!
@@Pissbaby991 After everything is setup it is plug and play ready. All I did with it and my laptop was test the footage with the Elgato HD 60S. Thanks for asking!
It is such an incredible handheld. Luckily the vita community is continuing to make it one of the best handhelds out there. You'll have to let me know if you ever pick one up!
I actually finally hacked my Vita over this weekend, and I've had the thing ever since I had my PS4 (i got it as a combo deal when the PS4 first came out), and while I did have fun with it, I just slowly stopped playing on it over the years! It had just been collecting dust, and then earlier this year, there was the scare that the Vita online store was gonna be shut down (which the gamers managed to get Sony to keep it going, FOR NOW), and I had decided that I was gonna hack my Vita whenever I got around to doing so. I finally did get around to doing so this weekend, and all I have to say is that I should have done it sooner! As for using this dock method to play on the tv, I need to think on that for a bit, but I do appreciate the time you took to explain it! My personal thoughts about the Vita regarding it's storage are that if Sony had went with utilizing SD cards for storage instead of proprietary storage (the prices on those Vita cards were a little ridiculous back then but they're a total nightmare today), there probably would have been more people willing to give the system a chance during it's lifespan! Anyway, great work on the video!
That’s so cool! Yeah Sony has been making us all nervous about that store debacle. Thanks so much for sharing your story! Glad you enjoyed the video. You’ll have to let me know what you end up doing and how you enjoy your vita!
@@HallowedBeThyGame right now, i have retro games set up on my Vita, but I'll probably take on a raspberry pi project one of these days for retro gaming on the tv and just keep my vita exclusively for on-the-go retro gaming.. Anyway, appreciate the reply!
You know, you don't actually need the dock to hook up your vita to your PC. If you have it hacked, it will show up on your PC as a webcam running at 540p when you plug it directly in. You can use it as an OBS input device. I use line in for the audio. Been streaming with my Vita since 2020, and it works great. I was mostly interested in a simple solution to get it on my TV for couch playing, etc.
The vita was awesome but as you mentioned Sony just stopped. I will always love the gameboy color or advanced but the vita was fantastic and was one of the best handhelds ever.
@@HallowedBeThyGame I'll let you know, I've got a Vita cradle so I'm really curious to see if I'll be able to run the USB through that, I think it should work because you can run data to a PC through it and sync back and forth.
It makes me wanna buy 2 PS Vitas (1 unmodded for PS trophy hunting & 1 modded for Vita Dock purposes). Also it requires 2 PS Vita memory cards (for instance, transfer game save files from the unmodded Vita to modded Vita).
Yeah I definitely know what ya mean. Really love this PS Vita dock, but makes me frustrated that Sony abandoned this glorious handheld with all this potential left on the table.

ps vita was so close to being perfect, evey time I watch a video on them I think, if only sony supported it and added R2/L2 buttons. at the point of release sony fully planned on going twards R2/L2 but kept only 2 solder buttons as the og psp had. I've been going though my first play though of killzone on my slim model and also wished there was a POV changer, playing in the zoomed display is a little agaring to me when ever I pick it back up, as I'm used to going between 75-90 pov on every other game. Also wished I picket it up before the online severs where down. Plan on modding my 1st gen model with an oled display eventually and adding the doc support with my vita, probably will add a usb switcher to pi since I use it for a few things and will be easier to use that way to swap boot devices than unplugging.
I tried it once, but it wiped my saves for some reason after installing the plugin. That's why I'm scared to use it again. Don't want to loose my progress.
Hi.... I have problem my vita not being detected by PC (Windows 10) using USB, let alone as a camera device. No matter whether I was using Vitashell or QCMA, it seems that the USB connection from my vita is not being detected at all. No notification sound or whatsoever. I'll try to connect to android box (using the USB Camera app) but still no luck. I've tried using 2 new cable but nothing being detected. Not even a Windows sound (as when detecting an USB connection). It seems like the USB data transfer has been disabled/ dead. But my Vita still can charge. My Vita is 1000 model on 3.60 Enso using SD2VITA 512GB full games with 8GB original Sony memory card, working well. I bought it second hand. I have 3 charging cables, all for test, but with no avail. They can charge but nothing on data transfer. When I plugged the cable, there wasn't a notification/ loading icon. What is wrong then?
This is something you could technically do but I would avoid involving your main account as Sony does not necessarily condone unlocking your vita to mods.
