It's a headache if you get any weird hiccups along the way.
After a few hours of cursing, I got it to work and now I have the ability to play decades' worth of games.
My little jrpg machine just ascended to godhood. The backlog of games I never got to play before are now available on the go.
Just be warned that headaches can happen when you start.

If your vita model were fat, you have to use ps vita original mem stick to be modded on, slim doesn’t use that method.
And yes you have to use sdcard to vita after modding to custom firmware
I had mine for a week corrupted the expensive card

Go on offerup, theres like x1000 of every console thats been moded. Bit more pricey though. I'd say do it yourself, takes less than an hour(including time it takes to learn)

funny I topped out my vita w a 128gb card and just recently bought a 256gb one.
The retroarch bubbles look amazing I need to get on that. I've been customizing my psp and psx bubbles but I didnt know I could get bubbles for other systems as well thanks for the tip :)

I upgraded my vita from 256gb to 512gb today my psp and ps1 games are all in adrenaline and the homescreen is just for vita games..

Nice set up! I have a everything modded on my Vita except for the SD2Vita set up. I set it up formatted it and it rebooted all with no issues. When I get to the settings ,storage options , it dosent show where I can enable the YCMA for the SD card ,do you think you could help me? Subbed
You may have mounted the sd2vita incorrectly. Mine is ux0=sd2vita
Uma0=proprietary mem card.
If that's not it, you may have a faulty sd2vita adapter. They're known to be problem in many cases
With that many games ill have a huge problem just choosing which one to play

Hey great work There. Can you use savestate with emulated games? Which buttons should I use?
You can use save states and I use L+R for all my RetroArch emulated games. So far haven't had any issues with that combo

Yooo great video! I'm pretty new into moding. I have the first version of ps vita (not the slim). Only thing i'm afraid of is losing my paid games and getting banned. I shouldnt worried about that after modding? any recommendation version or tutorial i should follow?
Awesome, that's the same type of vita I have! Sony doesn't seem to care about the PS Vita anymore, and I don't think I've ever heard about anyone getting banned. You're more likely to lose your games from Sony themselves abandoning the vita store all together 😭
I think any updated guide on Vita hacks should get you rolling in the right direction.

I did it I modded my vita and it’s doing great glad I took the plunge to do it thanks your video encouraged me to do it also I have a little question if I want to add roms to it do I just make a file called Roms and put it in the uxo and just add them or do I need to do something else
What type of roms are you wanting to add, and how do you plan to emulate them?
Essentially yes, you can put a folder on your uX0 (mine is just names Roms) and then place roms in there.

WHY is it that I can't find out plain and simple how to add more games. Like where do I go to get say SNES or other games whether it be free or paid for. I'm kinda figuring out the basics and I pretty have all the programs I need, I just need to find the games. Where did you go to find the games and how did you alter and transfer the files/games?
Most just Google the rom names and download from there. Then just add to whatever emulator you use.
Just plug vita into your PC and transfer via vitashell

Great video, man. Quick question though. Your achievement settings for Retroarch…how did you set them up to look like that? Mine are default, I think, in yellow text; not very nice to look at and they don’t grab my attention when unlocking new achievements. Thoughts?
There's a setting called "show achievement badges" or something like that that has to be on. I'll check on it once I get back home for ya

if you have a bulky grip with your psvita, i suggest a case for it, a nintendo switch lite hardcase fits a vita with grip :)

I’ve had a vita since launch but I haven’t been able to mod it because I only have a MAC however to my understanding you can now mod directly from the vita itself.
That's correct. Only a vita with an internet connection is needed now

would you happen to know why overclocking plugins for me worked before, then eventually it would boot loop when i start up the vita, i miss having my PSVShell. i also tried other overclockers and the one made my ps1 games freeze randomly and the other one i think also boot looped me. any help would be great. thanks
I've never had those issues, personally but maybe it was overclocked too high?

Using Adrenaline Bubble Manager for the PS1 and PSP. I have a video showing how to do the retro bubbles 👍
Have you ever had an issue with your vita freezing at boot? I have modded my vita twice and after a day or two it gets frozen at the Enso symbol and doesn’t go to the Home Screen. I need to then factory reset and remod it.
I have not had this issue. You may try to reset everything and the next time you mod it just use a different firmware version. For example, if you use 3.60 just use 3.65 instead

Do you have to over lock for gba in retro arch? I had to bump mine to 400 to get 60fps. Also having retroachievements on slowed down performance for me.
How’s Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 with Daedalus? I tried it maybe a year ago but the graphical issues made it unplayable. Is that fixed?
Shouldn't have to overclock for GBA emulation. Have you tried switching to a different core/emulator?
As far as pokemon stadium goes, it's still not perfect. It's not "unplayable" but still has many graphical issues. There are much better ways to emulate N64 imo
Using retroarch. MBA crashes anytime I load a rom. Leaving vba-next, with that Pokémon fire red runs at 50-55fps. Have to overclock to 444mhz to run full speed.. if I try to use rewind and achievements it bogs it down more.

How did you get mortal kombat trilogy into a bubble? I tried doing it with adrenaline bubble maker but i couldnt get it to work. Do you have it to where it loads on adrenaline or retroarch?
It's through retroarch

Yeah, my PS Vita has Pokémon on it. But only because it's modded. Mostly just the GBA games

I am using a 256gb card here. I think 512 is the max before you start having issues. (At least I read that on reddit a while back)

I would drop back to 3.60, I was on 3.65 enso myself, but for some reason it kept throwing errors when I got plugin happy. Going back to 3.60 enso I have all the same plugins and then more with zero errors.

Not sure about that. I'm on 3.65 and I don't see any reason to go to 3.60 when everything I've ran runs perfectly with no issues and no errors. Name one plugin or port that is a 3.60 exclusive and necessary?

And I turned them into bubbles for the live area.
The psp and ps1 bubbles are made from a program called Adrenaline bubble manager.

Pokemon rom hacks are basically fan made pokemon games. Some of them are really really good!

I don't have a backup of this, but it wouldn't work in another Vita anyways. Once you put the card into yours it would just make you re format

Something may have gotten corrupted in the process. Try to re mod it using the browser method

Let me ask a question: does anyone else have issues with Homebrew Channel? I cannot for the life of me get that app to work. I’ve had some issues with my modded Vita but eventually i’ve gotten everything to work… except that app. I don’t get what the problem with it is. Is there an alternative to it?

I bought a ps vita 1000 and permanently modded it. Haven’t put much on the 256gb sd card yet.
Psp has a great library, i highly recommend Fight Night round 3 (psp) and Def Jam Fight For New York The Takeover (psp). Both are great boredom killers that respect their console counterparts. They are always on my vita

Nope, nothing will be deleted unless you decide to delete them

I've been using my main account for years now and haven't heard of any bans happening. I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you're not cheating on online games or something

I've used my main account for years with no issues, but I suppose there's always a risk. I've never heard of anyone being banned for modding their vita. Only for people who have used cheats and stuff online

The n64 emulator bubble is an app...once u install the app its automatically becomes a bubble
You can use retrobuilder to make bubbles for your games. I have a video about how to do this on my channel 👍

I personally haven't had gpu crashes due to a failing system. It's still going strong, but I don't play it excessively

If you're going to be on it a lot, I recommend the 2000.
Again, I've had no issues with mine and I've had it since day 1 launch, but I have seen a lot of ppl haven't been that lucky

I have 32 GB and its not enough. Sd2vita. I used to be addicted to saving games movies music.... but ive come to realize you cant play or watch all of them in your lifetime so now i just have the top 100's.

Yeah all the homebrew stuff is on my sd2vita. If i wanted to play a physical game cart I still could, but I'd have to reinsert my sd2vita before accessing any of my homebrew

Downloading modded Vita games can you still earn trophies from them?
Idk about downloading modded games, but if they're Vita games that have trophies, then yes, they'll still have trophies.
I remember watching these type of videos including this feeling so jealous that no one will buy me this or give me permission
So fast forward like a week ago I just brought with without telling anyone and got caught while modding it's 8gb memory card lol and it's corrupted I didn't need it anyway so my console has been taken away from me and it sucks but in this time I'm learning from my mistakes and will hack this successfully will update maybe soon

I LITERALLY ran into every problem imaginable, it took me very long and I was stuck in every situation and in every scenario, learnt a lot tho , most of the mistakes were rare but my luck was bad , some mistakes I made then went on Reddit for help and so on , all in all its cool , I love the vita but sadly lost interest in it now . I can't seem to play it for more than 15 minutes so you know what I did , I downgraded it's memory card and gifted it to my little sister who loves it and plays it about everyday .. life goes on man it's only been a year or so of purchase

@harvken9332 Spoofing your firmware version isn't going to affect if you get a ban from psn. If you don't spoof your version, then it'll prompt you to update. If you update you'll lose your cfw. That's it
So I ordered a vita and I did the process of downloading the software to mod the vita is there a chance to brick my vida and if it does happen can I fix it or would I have to just by another one
The chance of bricking your console is extremely slim with the newer vita modding guides. It's always a possibility, but highly unlikely these days. Just make sure if you decide to use Modoru to downgrade your firmware that you choose the correct version. I had a friend a few years back that did this incorrectly and seemingly bricked their vita. I managed to fix it by manually reverting their firmware back to factory settings and restarting the process
