When i open my yamt installer it doesn't work. There's just a text that reads could not find boot_config.txt in ur0 tai. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something important?
So I found SORT OF a solution: I was having the same issue, so I deleted my boot_config.txt, reinstalled h-encore, and reinstalled ENSO, and it worked; that being said, I currently am having an issue that needs me to update system software in order to access the internal memory card, so I'll keep y'all posted on solutions to that.

@@DonatelloEsq Did you have a Sony memory card in the device and had you been saving apps to that card instead of the internal memory? If so, that might have thrown the process off. To get back to where you were, I would recommend you go back into Storage Devices settings and change your ux0 back to wherever your apps were initially stored -- it should be your internal memory, but I suspect you had a Sony card in there. Then I would recommend you make your internal storage the uma0 drive (do a reboot), copy over everything in your Sony card's "app" and "tai" directories to the uma0 (internal storage), then go back into the settings and change them to the ux0 as internal memory, and uma0 as the SD2Vita. You should be able to resume the rest of the tutorial from there.

the reason why the storagemgr is slow at cold boot is it checks all memory cards first before it applies the storage configuration. the bootup is like this 1st it checks sd2vita, and other memory cards if all are present if all present it loads the current config (eg sdvita as ux0 and memory card as uma0) if not then it loads the default storage configuration (1gb for slim and pstv) or the memory card this is to avoid showing that error mentioning about formatting the memory card, this is due that plugin is failed to detect the sd2vita and even if you confirm formatting the memory card, nothing will happen and will just display a error message. tl;dr, YAMT is basically works like a old sd2vita driver plugin. while storagemgr actually have some sort of failover feature on it just in case something goes wrong on other storage medium (eg your sd2vita is not working).
THX for the tutorial man! But not worked for me on PS Vita 1000. I had to do it the old way of the Storage Manager plugin (win32disk and zzBlank.img). I do not know why but the micro Sd card with SD2VITA does not appear in VitaShell after configurations. after several attempts, i did something wrong and ended up formatting the sony mstick and lost all settings. I had to redo everything. At least I learned that the ideal is to save all settings from the "tai" folder to the internal nand (ur0). Please, if you can make a video using the YAMT method on a PS Vita 1000 I will be very grateful.
Great video! Definitely the perfect timing after getting my PS Vita. One question tho.. I am very curious what would happen if you would configure 2 vitas the same way, and then switch the cards between them.. Would that work at all? I've got a Vita for my wife and I would like to copy all the content from my Vita to hers. Thanks in advance! And yet again, great content!
Hi, I do exactly that with my two Vitas. I can swap the cards between them and the games and saves swap perfectly. You need to rebuild the database each time you switch devices (it's an automatic process and takes less than a minute), other than that it's 100% seamless.

@Leon Wilson the program doesn’t actually have an explicit confirmation message or screen. once you select the format option and automatically revert back to the previous screen, don’t mind it being on [Idle] and reboot the vita.
Bro pls help I lost everything on my modded ps vita and I trying to go back to the memory card it’s not working

Question
After mounting the SD2Vita, do I need to keep The YAMT Installer bubble installed? Or has it done its job already
Following this tutorial made me wipe my sd card on my vita with the format xd
How do I make backups of my Vita Carts? I don't have alot but it would be nice if I could use the SD2VITA and never have to take it out again
Very helpful video. Thanks!
My homebrew browser is having error C-12828-1 on start up! Can someone please help me??
Excellent video as always. I reset my previously jailbroken Vita 1000 just so I can have it match your standard and it's working great!
I'd love to see how you set up RetroArch next. I had that set up on my previous jailbreak and while it was functional and fun, now that I have a nice huge memory card installed I'd like to see how far I can take it using your methods.
Can't wait for the next video, and keep up the great work!
what if i have a normal ps vita memory card, how do I transfer the contents to the micro sd?
The SD2Vita goes into the game slot so you can have it and the PSVite SD card in at the same time
Ok, you got me hooked. Been wanting to buy a handheld game machine for emulation and with your videos, I have decided the Vita is what I will do. I love modding (got my first computer in 1983 - a coco 2, and got a Dr 64 for my N64, and got my first computer science degree in 1991, so yes, I am a nerd) so I will have a blast with this baby. Your videos are very well done.
well there goes my physical games
thank bro, top video!
you a real life saver bro... this is by far the easiest, straight forward, detailed and hassle free guide for this... ive been at this for weeks
My SD2VITA finally came in the mail today! I followed your guide step by step and it works like a charm. Thanks
Great to hear!
Are you still able to earn trophies while playing a digital game that is downloaded on this modded storage?
@@SlaterNoSkater1295 yep
@@RetroGameCorps I ask because in another video that showed this process, the person showed a pop up which said that trophies aren't earned while the application is loaded. I've never modded a console of any kind before and I'd like to still be able to earn trophies and use my original PSN account

How do I fix the error "yamt could not find boot_config.txt" when I launch the YAMT installer?
Same
Okay, but what if I want to use actual Vita Game cards after doing that modification?
I did every step but UMA does not show in my Vita Shell :/
When I try to open up the app to install the lite version it says no boot config file found.
Same
I was able to get yamt to install the lite version but now after going into the device settings after assigning uma0 to sd2vita and then formatting with developer options, uma0 doesn't show up in vitashell, is this a common issue or is my sd2vita defective? It's just not recognizing it for some reason 🤷♂️
Yeah I'm having a similar issue honestly has anyone found a fix?
@@FromFroznShores i had a faulty sd2vita luckily i bought 2 and the other one worked but you have to go into autoplugin and download the plugin for sd2vita then configure it so that ux0 is the sd2vita and ura0 is the system. Hope that helps!

@@wopino I don’t think it’s the sd2vita I have 2 as well and I was able to get it working on my slim vita using this method and it works fine with both sd2vita adapters it’s something with the 1000 model idk how to fix it tho
@@victormachuca6621 it's all working as it should on my 1000 🤷♂️
Can youse an official vita card and an SD card at the same time to get even more space
Can you try to install Sonic 1&2 ports from android? I'm having issues with my save states: everytime I close the games my save files are gone. I've tried many things but nothing seems to fix this. Thank you for the great content.
Could you possibly make a video on upgrading to YAMT from Storage Manager?
its NOT WORKING FOR ME
I'm already running a 256GB SD through sd2vita, would this method still be faster without formatting? Or would I need to back up, wipe/reformat on the Vita and restore to get the speed benefit?
Hey man great video. I just wanted to ask about the sd2vita plugin. If I use this method, is that no longer required?
After Formatting the card in storage settings and rebooting, it asked if I wanted to format my card and I said no and after that, it got rid of vita shell and every other app I had from modding. Know of any way to fix this?
Just had this happen while trying to figure out why the sd2vita storage wasnt popping up and now I cant find any of the modded apps anyone else find a solution
Same thing happened to me. Anyone been able to solve this?
Use PsvimgTools to reinstall Vitashell. The device is looking at a new storage where those softwares aren't installed which is why they don't display. Simple reinstall of whatever hacked softwares you want will fix this.
@@BabyFaceP thank u
@@BabyFaceP if I could give you 10 likes I would!!.. i thought I had followed the steps correctly and my henkaku menu was still there - but couldn't figure out the issue... you saved me a lot of time, effort and stress!! - this needs to be added into the guide and comments above!! :)
Thanks. Another great vid. I presume its safe to delete the YAMT installer app once the process is complete?
You can, but I would recommend keeping it around because it has an uninstall script, in case you need to uninstall YAMT in the future (if another update comes around, for example).
Got the SD2Vita card...but now just have to get the courage to hack my Vita. I got it new in Japan and its so pristine, I dont wanna F it up! Normally I'd just find a cheap one for less than $100 but seems like Vitas are going for a fortune these days if they're not scratched to high heaven.
Didn't work. I followed the steps, but once I rebooted and tried to run vita shell (or anything), it said the file is corrupt.
At what stage in the process are you? You installed the YAMT tool, ran the installer, and then rebooted? Or are you further along than that?
@@RetroGameCorps Vita 2000. Installed YAMT tool, ran installer, rebooted. Put in microsd adapter, went into settings, changed the storage devices as per the guide. When I rebooted, none of the installed programs appeared. tried using vita 1000 settings (memory card instead of internal storage), and that worked, did the copy over in vitashell. changed the settings again, as per guide, rebooted. now vitashell is corrupt.
@@RetroGameCorps That's exactly what happened. Thanks so much for the help, I didn't expect individual attention and you really came thru. thanks again.
@@DonatelloEsq No problem, hope we got it all sorted :)
if yamt is not installing and is instead displaying an error, try to open the vpk file with autoplugein2. hope this helps (;

*"Hey, do you really wanna do this?*
*Yeah man, I wanna do it."*

The vita hacks guide says doesnt work with Samsung evo this true?
Thanks for uploading this guide, may I ask if I use YAMT, and put my backup games on SD card, will the frame lag / sound sync issues (not sure on the term) be addressed, I played Warriors Orochi 3 using an old method and it seems they have delayed between voice and cutscenes
I've hacked 3 Vitas and always done it the old way. This method looks really good, especially the formatting internally.
the reason why the storagemgr is slow at cold boot is it checks all memory cards first before it applies the storage configuration.
the bootup is like this
1st it checks sd2vita, and other memory cards if all are present
if all present it loads the current config (eg sdvita as ux0 and memory card as uma0)
if not then it loads the default storage configuration (1gb for slim and pstv) or the memory card
this is to avoid showing that error mentioning about formatting the memory card, this is due that plugin is failed to detect the sd2vita and even if you confirm formatting the memory card, nothing will happen and will just display a error message.
tl;dr, YAMT is basically works like a old sd2vita driver plugin. while storagemgr actually have some sort of failover feature on it just in case something goes wrong on other storage medium (eg your sd2vita is not working).
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks for the answer! I will definitely give it a try :)
I am currently investigating if something like NetPlay is possible by playing PS1 games but cannot find anything yet. If you have some information about it and you feel like "yeah man, I wanna do a video about it", I would love it!
See you on the next vid :) !
it is saying it could not find the boot.config when you install yamt pkg
damn that samsung evo memory card cannot get formatted it doesnt work

after doing the reboot after formating it deleted all my vitashell and other assorted apps
same issue here
When I did the second switch to make the sd2vita my main drive, it completely corrupted all of my vita data... any way to recover any of it, or any way to fix this? All of my apps got deleted, and I get an error trying to connect to pc to redownload vitashell or anything. Do I have to factory reset and restart the whole modding process? Is all my save data gone forever?
have you tried rebooting the device and taking the sd2vita cartridge ? I had the same problem and fixed it by doing that
what happens if you need to put a game card in after doing this?
You can't use the data on the sd2vita while the game cartridge is in the vita
the Uma0 isnt showing up for me, anyone know how to fix this? (reboot this, you skipped this step, etc.)

@@kuvsayeed8166 @YPTK I followed this steps found on a reddit post and IT WORKED !!
Go into settings-devices-storage and set ux0 to the memory card, and uma0 to the sd2vita.
reboot.
hopefully Vitashell etc will be back as your memory card is ux0 as normal.
open Vitashell and copy the entirety of ux0 to uma0. I think you'll need to do this folder by folder, but make sure uma0 is a carbon copy of ux0.
once this is done, close Vitashell and go back to settings-devices-storage.
set sd2vita to ux0, and memory card to uma0
reboot.

it doesn't work for me after all done when i reboot , after the logo of enso , it shows completely black screen and turn off itself .
I'm having the exact same problem with mine's too! All you have to do is remove the SD2Vita card, and then your Vita will boot up again normally. It means that the Vita couldn't read the SD2Vita cartridge. I'm still trying to find answers as to why this is happening. Not even the "uma0:" folder appears on the Vitashell, and I have the latest version.
Those damned memory cards killed this thing. I have my OG white one and picked up a 2nd gen few months ago for cheap just in case. The adapter recommended was if you're using a jailbroken Vita in the game slot. There's still no alternative to the original memory card. This thing was so aheaed of its time and sony just had to make it complicated. Current Sony I don't trust them releasing a VITA2. Everyone thought the portal wold be it but it did give us a feature the Vita could do.
Do first ps1 and psp please
That’s where the Vita shines 👍
