I just did this on a pi 4 model b. I used a old windows computer. The software is v2.5 now . And I used official raspberry pi imager. Works way better on a monitor or regular tv. NOT A SMART tv. Thank u for this video.
Cool thing is that nowadays you can do this with your modded vita and an android TV. I use an app called nExt Camera USB on my hdtv which detects my vita with the plugin as a Webcam and outputs it's video to my screen. On my PC I use a media player called Pot Player which has great image tweaking features that can be used to change the look of the incoming vita signal. Bad news is that with these methods, latency seems to be a full second. With some practice I'm able to play twitchy response based games like Ghost & Goblins but I'd recommend to stick to games that don't depend on a high response time like rpg's on this kind of set up instead.
What about latency? Also it would be nice if somehow the ps vita's screen could turn off when is connected to the raspberry pi. Very nice and useful video!
I installed the udcd_uvc plugin, but after plugging in the Vita all I see is the VitaDock desktop environment. There is no synced video whatsoever. I tried multiple cables. What am I missing?
Wtf, I just searched for "ps2 mods 2023" and this is literally the first video I see. Well I guess imma watch this then. Edit after watching: when I get a ps vita someday, I'll definitely do that too
If using vita dock without raspberry - there is no charging while playing. So the question is: can vita be charged while playing through raspberry dock ? Ty for video
Great content... PS-VITA+ any Android base Device ( Google Chromecast Tv + DS4 controller... Or Sammy Tab S7 as second screen + dongle HDMI + PS-VITA + DS4 controller...😎😁🤔🧐🙃🫠...
is there a way to like, put the VITA screen on sleep mode? or disable its charging features while in this Docked mode? thats how most 1000 models get yellow burns.
Great guide and everything went nicely (you need to wait a long time for the first boot and it does 3 reboots inbetween) but I am experiencing a huge video lag. Tried different cables, tried the performance option (icon in the bottom right corner), tried a different plugin, and so on...
Do I always have to confirm this with the mouse? Or does the transfer to the TV also go automatically?! Vita connect to the dock and automatically image transfer.
Yes, so the UDCD plugin he installed there are actually 3 versions, the top version does not have the screen off option but the other 2 do and specifies if it's for oled or lcd model
I'm too stupid for this.... whenever i see raspberry pi... idk what to do.... whenever i look on internet... i feel like i need to solder it when idk how...but i really want this dock 😢
I had this issue too, but it was dependent on what display I used. If I connected to my 1080p tv, no delay at all, it was fine. A 4K tv? Noticeable delay. Resolution might matter, idk
Probably not, I've only seen homebrew software to enable support of dualshock 3 and dualshock 4 controllers. You're better off using DS4 anyways because the touch panel mimics the touch screen anyways, but I learned recently that some games support emulating the touch screen with a dualshock 3 using the stick click inputs
But is it worth it? Fort less than 100€ one can buy a used PS3/4, hack it and play everything on it. The Raspberry pi alone is more than 100€. Sony should have included an HDMI port in the console and allowed what is possible on the PSP: connecting the console to the TV with a single cable.
I keep seeing these docks and it seems so pointless. You can just use the charging cable on the OLED model with a plugin to do capture the video through OBS and put it on whatever screen you want

Thank you! Worked like a charm. Good video Quality and no lag with R Pi 3.
Thank you so much for this. Now I won't have to double dip on a pricey PSTV 😊
Raspberry pi zero w 2 maybe îs perfect for make a custom dock with a Best pcb

Yes thank you !!!

I’m going to do this
Have fun! 😀

awesome. gonna try this with my raspberry pi 4. just concerned if the vita gets power thru the usb ?
Any way to use a usb controller from the pi on the psvita?

Use 2.0 not 2.5
It solved the issues for me
@@alexandrucreata6342 Vitadock 2.0 you mean? Thanks - will try it out tomorrow 🙂
@@echdareez yeah the 2.0 version.
I wish you luck
How is the resolution conpared to using obs?
For me the resolution on obs was horible.
I wasnt even able to understand what was happening in the game
would it work well with a pi zero ?
If there is 200ms+ delay then we have a problem. So how much is the input delay?
It's too much for people who are sensitive to it, but for people who just like playing games it's fine
Do I always have to confirm this with the mouse? Or does the transfer to the TV also go automatically?! Vita connect to the dock and automatically image transfer.
It`s compatible with SysDvr application? Nintendo Switch Lite...
Could this be done on a MacBook or does it have to be a PC for the set up?
Would a Raspberry Pi4 - 1GB be just fine?
What bout now that autoplugin 2 isn't recommended?
Why is autoplug 2 not recommended?
What is it not recommended for??
Quick tip you don't actually need auto pluggin the application only causes more problems so I'd just manually install pluggins
is lower than 32gb SD CARD not good enough?

Would a raspberry pi 3 A+ do this well?
Can I have link to buy the case please?
anyone else having trouble setting up aux input on their pi 3b? or is the aux only meant to go directly to the tv and not a dock + sound card
I'm too stupid for this.... whenever i see raspberry pi... idk what to do.... whenever i look on internet... i feel like i need to solder it when idk how...but i really want this dock 😢
This one was simple tbh. Just buy a raspberry pi 3/4 and then search for cases to keep it covered then get a micro sd and do wat he did in the video
I am having some video latency issues. Audio is fine. But the video has a delay. Any one have any possible solutions?

Pi 4 2gb model. Im using the onbosrd bluetooth and just not getting sound atall. Any ideas?
Same, it's super annoying. Video latency it's very noticable as well.
same hier
Does it stream via wifi or something else? I want to do this but have pretty crap wifi at home sadly
Via a usb cable so the wifi doesnt matter
Can a _Dualsense controller_ be used instead?
