Holy cow, the way you animated the book was genius! For a sec I thought you guys had to draw the same design on the book over and over again. Manipulating the book cover with images and a rig was really smart! Great work!

Great job!
And awesome use of the tools available in Toon Boom to solve a couple issues. The issue with the ground grappling shot could've also been fixed within Toon Boom with the use of Cutters and maybe using an overlay layer to color the sections that you'd live to cancel pieces of the other character.
Either way, it was going to be tedious doing all the proper masking, so After Effects is equally functional and the finished product still looks amazing :D

Thank you! Well, I had another problem, I had a very small amount of the time given to finish everything, so I had to use all of my IQ and what I already knew to work on this. It would take me more time to master Cutters tool than do it manually, ironically. I didn't know much about Nodes then, than I do now, and knew more about AE and how to layer everything properly, you know, the old-school style, so to speak lmao

I'm not making a request or anything but in the future do you ever plan on making a more in depth video on how you clean up animation from adding color to adding touch ups in AE for a "HELLUVA BOSS" scene? Also what software are you using at 0:39 and what do you use it mainly for? Also you did a amazing job on those scenes and I appreciate the insight you share when working on these scenes for "HELLUVA BOSS".

I thought of that but I have to ask if it isn't too much of the insight info about the work pipeline first before doing something more than just short clips. The software is Toon Boom Harmony, it's an awesome animation software if you get used to it, it's also used to do cleanup on top of the rough animation. It's not free though.

For CleanUp. what kind of file do you send to Viv? the toon boom file with no background? and mp4 file with only lineart and color and a grey background?
