- MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA Pathfinder Starter Guide! In the first episode of my pathfinder guide series, I share 10 tips for a head start in Andromeda! These are basic, useful tips to know for a head start in Mass Effect Andromeda!
Mass Effect: Andromeda is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4. The game is scheduled for release in North America on March 21, 2017 and in Europe on March 23. It will be the fourth entry overall in the Mass Effect series and the first since Mass Effect 3 (2012). The game begins within the Milky Way Galaxy during the 22nd century, where humanity is planning to populate new home worlds in the Andromeda Galaxy as part of a strategy called the Andromeda Initiative. The player assumes the role of either Sara or Scott Ryder, an inexperienced military recruit who joins the Initiative and wakes up in Andromeda following a 600-year journey.

... why does everyone forget that "soft cover" was a thing in mass effect 1? Its not new for the mass effect universe :p
GaratghDeloi soft cover was terrible in ME1. This system seems a lot more smooth.
Oh i agree that it seems improved and overall better then the system in mass effect 1.
Im just pointing out that soft cover isent a new concept in mass effect, but that every youtuber i have seen talking about it seems to have forgotten the system in mass effect 1 :P

I just got this game for $30 on sale on the PS store and I've never played any mass effect before and I gotta say, I'm having a wonderful time playing it. I don't understand the hate towards the game (although I am playing after a lot of the bugs and animations have been fixed)

My MO is jump on these games years after release - I’m just now finishing my 1st Mass Effect Trilogy playthrough, and am SO in love with the games! I will start Andromeda next. I know it’s a totally different game (and no Shepard!) but Andromeda looks really fun. Good palate cleanser before I dive back in for a second run through the original trilogy! I just started this Mass effect Andromeda and I am loving the combat system the movement so much more fluent like this is a really really great game I don't know why It got such a bad rap I think it was because it wasn't Shepherd but I love this storyline and I know BioWare will connect them eventually people just need to calm down but this is a really great game the weapons the crafting system the new social system that there are a lot of great things in this that I hope they have in the new Mass effect like this jump jet was amazing the scanning loved it I love walking around scanning everything and the skill tree is freaking awesome they really really let you go your own way about how you upgrade and what you want to do like I would definitely rate Andromeda so far like least 8.5 out of 10
From what I remember, it was just a really bad launch. With a lot of bugs. I’m thinking of playing this after ME 1-3 legendary but will definitely temper my expectations.

We pretty much love the look of everything about this game so far! The less restricted skill system in particular seems like a massive improvement from the original trilogy.
Also, fields of mushrooms. Trippy as balls.
Still a good game in 2023. The negativity because of glitches, bad animations etc was taken too far. Some of the dialogue is brilliant. Story is ok even if kinda incipient - it leaves room to manuever for the role player.

Just looking at this is getting me so excited to get this Game. Yes the graphics look a bit weird but I don't care about graphics. All I care about is if I have fun, like the new characters and enjoy the combat and story.

Very nice video. One quick question though. When it comes to the "training" you receive when making your character, does this give a permanent bonus to that particular training of any sort? Or is it literally just allowing you to gain access to certain skills right after creation?
For example if I want to eventually be more of a Vanguard but I choose Technician at the beginning, will that hinder my biotic/vanguard abilities at all?
Also, when you buy a full respec do you get to choose your initial training again or is that permanent? This is kind of important since if you can't re-select your training you'd always be locked into having to spend those 9 extra points if you want to choose something totally different...
I'm sure this has been addressed but Soft Cover was a thing in Mass Effect 1. It worked EXACTLY the same way too, you needed your weapons drawn for you to use a surface for cover.
Seriously, people, who gives a shit about graphics? The game looks fine, jesus christ.
Edit: Apparently being positive about a game despite it's flaws is not allowed on youtube, and I need to be put in my place for having optimism.
Maybe you should put your glasses away, it's preventing you from seeing the reality. Sure, graphics are hardly important if the gameplay and the story are almost flawless, but that's hardly the case with Andromeda, isn't it?
Anyway, say what you want, but the graphics, for a *2017* AAA game, they simply look rubbish. The same can be said about the animations, cutscenes, dialogue, characters, etc. What seems to be doing right is the general atmosphere. Will that be enough? We'll get to see when we will be able to play it.
Just because someone dares to criticize the game it doesn't mean that he also hates the game, or that the game isn't any good afterall. Instead of being a blind little fan girl maybe it would be better to actually acknowledge some of the visible flaws with the game. If people would start being objective about the products/games and criticize where criticism is due we would see better products/games in the end.
My opinion remains though. It's a bit unacceptable for a 2017 AAA game to have such bad graphics, textures and animations, poorly written characters, regardless of what game it is.

As long as it works, and has a consistent frame rate, I don't care how shit it looks. It's Mass Effect, I've always loved it, and always will.
Glass of hate? Do you understand english? Did you bother to read, properly read, everything I wrote to you? Or are you incapable of comprehending english? Which one is it? If my opinion regarding the quality of certain aspects of the game doesn't matter, then why should your opinion praising Andromeda like it's the Holy Grail should matter? Why does your opinion matter more?
Again, stop being stupid. It's pathetic. *Criticizing certain aspects of the game with regards to the current year that we are and the standards that some previous games have set doesn't automatically mean someones hates the game or that the game is bad overall*. It means he can be objective about the product, unlike you. You also seem to focus only on graphics even though there are other problems with this game, such as speech animations or poorly written lines and characters. It seems they went for quantity over quality.
If you are going to enjoy the game just because "it's Mass Effect, I've always loved it, and always will" regardless of the actual quality of the game while also being very uptight when someone dares to burst your bubble... then I feel sorry for you.
And just in case you can't understand english, what I'm trying to say is that Andromeda could be a good game despite all of its flaws.

Does training have any affect outside of the starting skills? Is ever referenced in the story or character interactions?
how are u doing that shoulder charge looking thing? when i first saw it, you did it in air so i assumed u just got melee while airborne, but u did it on ground level too
I'd like to add to "talk to everyone", but do it multiple times. The three scientists for instance, I talked to them and got some quests, and then talked to the Asari again and she had another quest for me immediately. Same with Tann(?). Talked to him, walked away, talked to him again and more things were available.

Can you play with your friends on story mode? like co op? or something similar?
I'm glad the class system is more like Skyrim, where choosing your race affected your starting stats/powers but you could still make a Kajiit berserker or an Orc Nightblade, etc.
How is inventory management? I have a bad habbit of hoarding. I saw you have an item limit of 50 - is there a larger bank/vault/storage system on your main ship or anything?
Like multiple helmets, causal outfits, preorder exclusives and all that...
So, I have a question about the "Explore" tip. How likely are you to run into areas that are, for lack of a better word, too higher-level than your group. Like, could I possibly just be wondering around, only to run into the giant metallic thresher maw that I'm TOTALLY not ready for?

I am pretty much just going to stick with a biotic even though I can change classes. Will probably put put points into combat fitness from the soldier tree just so I can reduce weapon weight. Might have to give my biotic tactical cloak.

The uv work on some of those rocks are pretty nasty, which isn't a problem in some games, but here you get a close up view of those things.

I would really like to see a video about tips for Inventory Management. I personally am a horrible hoarder in games and like to collect as many sets of Armor and weapons as possible.

You gotta get rid of stuff that you wont use. I always get rid of my lessor armor and weapons. Plus, you can get supplies from recylcing them. and money for selling mods that you won't use. you will also have several duplicates of mods that you don't need.

It's awesome Mass effect 3 I mean the DLC they had in with the clone with Shepherd's clone you find a lancer rifle the only gun in the game that you don't need ammo for it just regenerates like in the original Mass effect it's freaking amazing I upgrade that gun and use that for the rest of the game just obliterated enemies I had about a hundred rounds I can just rip through
