Good job on pointing out the scale aspects of this type of crawler (portals/ams/dig). I remember many years ago (before there were youtube videos of everything ever) people arguing on the RcCrawler forurms, that a "scale" build couldn't have things like 4wheel steering or front dig! Back then, it seemed like a lot of the people who were hardcore into RC and scale builds didn't know anything about 1:1 'wheelin.
Cool video, thank you. Always enjoy the "not quite right" naming of parts in the rc world "roll o meter" aka inclinometer. I remember seeing these in many toyotas
I'm glad to see that you beat the flu. I did check into the cost of flowers.(It was flowers to you or vanquish chassis kit, the chassis kit was the winner) But it was a hard choice. Good review
I would send you the chassis, but that would make the start of the third vanquish crawler and I don't want to be the person that would put you in bankruptcy. But I can send you a florida t-shirt .
Another bang up review (pun intended!) Excited to get mine finished. What a fantastic location to crawl though, hard to find stuff like that in central VA. Great job!
Funniest thing... I did that this weekend too... except I broke the ears off of one of my front portal boxes. Nothing else happened. I'm impressed with how strong the rig is.
its awesome to see that WE ROCK is gaining more traction. rock crawling has been going down in popularity so mentioning that it was designed after some WE ROCK cars is awesome to hear! hopefully Dirt Riot can get some spotlight soon!

I love running my lights during the day, when is too much light ever a problem hehehe. Great video as always, and great review of what has become my favorite crawler. I think it looks cool and it does crawl pretty good right out of the box with just some small tuning. 👍👍👍👍👍 I would call the launch off the cliff and stage dive hehehe.
Yea, the Capra has become my favorite as well. Though, I did put in a remote switch on it so I can turn the lightbar/headlights on/off from my remote. Now to tie in some taillights.
I love the XR10 and have 2 that are both in pieces. I just never have time to build them up. One is a new kit I bought online that I’ve started the build but get frustrated or just never have that much extra time and would rather use the time I do have actually driving instead. I need to find either a builder or a trade for an RTR axial rock crawler or even one of these. I am mobility challenged and tend to use most of my RCs in the house. Maybe I should make a foam course using wall insulation foam sheets.
I’ve looked at a lot. Even the Losi mini crawler. I just can’t really afford anything right now. I’m trying to contact Axial to see if they might be able to point me in a direction to a reliable builder who might be able to help. Axial is by far my favorite RC manufacturer. If I could, I would have one of each. When I first saw the Bomber I fell in love but this Capra has taken its place. Still not the MOA XR10 but it seems nice.
Me and my grandson at a comp last weekend and he flipped his truck off a 25' cliff straight down smash it up pretty good but got home and bet it back straight. He really to go again.
Great review, just picked up the kit. Not real happy with the dig setup. Hoping to get a new Hobbywing Fusion 1800Kv installed and using a Savox 1210 servo for now. I thought it strange that the box has the Nitto tire logo on it with a picture of the Capra sporting Pro-line Hyrax tires then finding out there were no tires in the kit.
Yo, Traxxas! A similar RTR open-wheel rock crawling buggy sure would be nice. Ya know; something I can run using your connectors, batteries, and chargers. I don't want/need Traxx here in the hi-desert, and three axles mean nothing more than higher costs in maintenance/parts/accessories IMHO. But I'd buy a rig like this in a NY-minute.
You know, if you don't tighten the screws down all the way for the front hood posts, you can rotate the body clips back under the hood and make them disappear. :) I did that by accident when I first built it and decided that I was going to leave it like that.
5:40 "And uhh ... the only way to test it, (next part said quickly) is drive it off cliffs! HaHaHaHa! The look on his face and the way he said this made me loose my shit! Love it!

Assembling my kit now ... how snug/tight should the transmission nylock nut be in Step E-2? I'd like to do it right the 1st time...the link you posted to revised instructions doesn't work and can't find anything on the site other than the original doc that I already have (??)
As tight as you want to avoid slippage.
I normally don't laugh at other folks trauma; but the recording of the cliff dive that went on forever was hilarious! Sorry dude. And now for something completely different (reference really ages me 😂) what scale wheel hubs are those?
Hahaha, thanks! GCM Racing makes those hubs!
Rattlesnake!!! Love that place to play in.
At least you didn't chase it off edge of cliff. Seen some close calls with less smart people.
I wisely know when to NOT run after something!
Why would you not want the part trees? I love the extras..
I’m not talking about the bonus parts, I’m talking about the actual trees that contain all the parts used in the kit. Not having all that extra plastic to throw away is great.
its a very nice place to crawl
One Fast Like for the 50 feet Intro;))
The inburno with a 3 position dig in the front would be cool. Someone needs to do a brushless burnout car with dig.
Jinja_RC That idea is good. It would have been cool to keep the Audi AWD for everything but the burnout and for playing around rwd drifting.
@@bryanlarsen2330 yup, a all in one RC car. Trucks you need a few but cars 1 that does it all would be nice. Swap wheels put it in 4wd now it went from drift to rally mode all while doing burnouts.
Good thing I didn't permanently change it to 2WD!
Scale Builder's Guild speaking of which, does Inburno resume next week?
What's the performance gain by servo on axle? Thanks. Nice vid btw.
More steering torque/power. You gain some bump steer, but it's negligible.
@@scalebuildersguild Thanks for the info. I had the servo on axle suggested to me as one way to solve an issue on my Element Enduro. However, I was finding it difficult to get more information on the SOA setup, so tricky to weigh my decision whether or not to invest in an after market kit.
Where might I find the 4Runner RC truck you have?
I assume its a Body Shell?
3D printed body kit. Available through Manitou Liu on Facebook.
