    I mounted my esc and rx on the firewall behind the battery and get rid of the fuel tank box. Doing this helps me get pretty close to 60/40. Thanks for sharing your setup!

      I have thought about that. I might look into that.

    Thanks for the great list of upgrades and why you chose them. Just started building my kit and this helps me plan better.

    The brass wheel weights look nice! Love this video, how you gave us a tour of the rig's mods! So awesome!
    I plan on getting some parts for my RC after Easter, and joining you on some crawls!

    You'll find the higher you raise you link mounts on the skid the more traction or anti roll you have under power but it limits articulation in the suspension. You just have to test and tune to what your crawl spot needs. Cool rig mine is almost set up the same. Great vids appreciate the break down

      I will test out different positions and choose one that works for me. Thanks for the input.

  • @RockinTrailZ

    Those are link risers built into the skid I'm pretty sure. Put those rear upper links at the top hole to get them parallel with lower links . Will make a huge difference

      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад +3

      Thanks for the reminder. I usually have the upper links higher up on my Gspeed. I will change the position.

    Great vid BigSung! The dig servo mount? It looks way more solid than stock. The little sx107 in mine is still chugging along but i'll upgrade sooner or later. Also how much tension do put on the slipper? Thanks!

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад

      Vader skid definitely has much more solid feel. As for slipper, I did not change the tension, so I am not sure.

    Moving them doesn't affect the cg , it creates anti squat and eliminates the bounce from the rear. Try it at your testing grounds. That's the real way to do a link riser , not at the truss in my opinion. You want the upper to look the same as the lower

    Hello I just finished my Capra and have some ideas that matches your setup Front and rear portal counterweights front heavier of course, pen drive mod in all shocks, standard for now. SSD wheels and brass inner rings halo wraps and Vodoo KLR X4, metal horn, light kit conected to the light bar in channel 3 dig servo connected in channel 4 and I use flysky
    Tomorrow I will go out to the rocks will see how it performs
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge always interesting videos

    A 540 16T 5 slot might have been better if you are trying to control the high gearing in a Capra.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад +1

      Both works well. I prefer a bit more punch, so I went with 540 5 slot 13T at the recommendation of John Holmes. And it works well for me.

    AJF RC makes Reef’s servos 🤙🏼

    Nice set up. I really want to build one some day. Just don't want to spend the money it takes to make them geared right.

    • @BigSungHobbies

      Understandable, but once you have it setup, it's a fun rig.

    • @brianonthego

      @@BigSungHobbies That super low 7:3 axle ratio has so much potential with a 3 gear transmission and HW Fusion 1800 and 2.2 Hyrax Tires...and a 100 HH front servo...dig I could do without. May ask what total gear ratio your rig is running...motor to wheel?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  2 года назад +1

      I never did the actual math on the gear ratio, so I am not sure. I agree with you on the Dig. I am not very impressed with Capra's version of dig. It just burned my AGFRC servo, and I had endpoints very carefully set after it burned my stock servo while trying to set the endpoint adjustment out of the box. It's nice having dig, but even when it was working it's not very smooth. I might just lock it out.

    • @brianonthego
      @brianonthego 2 года назад +1

      @@BigSungHobbies I'm saving evtra money and will buy the 370 dollar build kit and Vader skid first..then through in my HY Fusion and 1.9 Hyrax from my current truck and give it a try..with a locked out dig..that should give me a starting point, for a reasonable price.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  2 года назад +1

      @@brianonthego That would be the way to go. I picked up the rtr version because they had a special deal where it was cheaper then to kit…not sure why, but I am not complaining.

    Did you have to replace any parts other than the beef tubes spring cups to hold the springs in place.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  2 года назад +1

      I had to modify the bottom of the shock body so that the springs can sit there. I used dremel for it.

    Did you splice your headlights and light bar together to put them on the switch?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  Год назад

      It's actually simpler than that by using RC Remote Electronic AUX Channel On/Off Switch. I got it from Amazon. Here's the link to it. amzn.to/3ADY1sU

    Why didn't you hook the digs up to channel 5-6? It allows for free spin options too.

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад +1

      I like the position of ch-3 on my FlySky GT5 for the dig...allows me easy one handed driving. If I ever decide to go 4WS, then I will be using either ch5 or 6.

    • @jeeplivion
      @jeeplivion 3 года назад +1

      @@BigSungHobbies fair enough, I will be using ch6 for my rear steer too. The crawl mode is too clunky to get to on the menu so I use ch3 for my lights. Ch4 will probably be for a winch at some point

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад +1

      @@jeeplivion The beauty is that we can easily move things around. Personally, I find that ch3 works well for dig, and ch4 seem to work well enough for lights (at least for now). I don't see myself getting a winch for Capra, but if I do, then I will probably use ch4 for winch and move the light to ch5, and use ch6 for rear steer...at least that is the current plan ;)

    What amp rating is that light controller? I have a Capra but don’t know which one to get or more pertinently, I don’t know how to figure that out. Where would you look to figure that out on crawlers going forward and what do I need for the Capra (4amp/8amp) with a 1080 ESC, no BEC, and the fly sky receiver that pairs up with that (forgot the model)?

    • @BigSungHobbies
      @BigSungHobbies  3 года назад +1

      I am not sure on the amp rating. I am using Apex RC Products RC Remote Electronic AUX Channel On/Off Switch #9025 from Amazon and it works well for both on Capra and TRX4 that is running 1080 ESC and several of the Flysky receivers.
