“…gotta pay to play.” Ain’t that right! Just used that one in the comments 20 minutes ago. Such a great car. Worth every penny, if it does what you want it to do. Have a great one, bro!
Lets not forget that The initial videos that catapulted mr Logan to his current popularity, were done driving a pretty much stock capra. Please lets not fall in the trap of believing that unless we buy the most expensive equipment we wont be able to accomplish challenging lines, and lets not forget the more capable the car is, the less challenging lines will be. It is fun to buy stuff, but it is not logical if we don’t use it to its full potential. The real fun is going out and driving what we already have, not to keep buying stuff that will be underused. Hate videos that spark our already constant desire to buy buy buy, or try to equate fun with spending more and more money. Fun is getting out and trying to figure out difficult lines, the less capable your rig, more the abundance of difficult lines and a better driver you will become.
I put a Negative G RC chassis and wheels on my Capra 4WS, fusion motor, 1/2 cab body, rupture tires, kept the plastic axels, nice and light at 5.5 lbs. Putting rubber bands on the suspension and tuning it just right made it a line killer!
Love your channel and had been hoping you'd do something like this. Having you go over the build was amazing and I like that you covered the budget (the build is worth EVERY cent, btw). Really enjoyed it, but just left me wanting more, lol! I hope to see more build videos, especially a build 'series', and maybe some maintenance and upgrade videos. And some driving videos, of course. Keep up the great work! 👍
Great video, l love my Capra, I'm in the process of installing rear steer. One of my favourite upgrades was metal body panels and leave of the roof. Black 2.2 wheels with duratrax tyres. Love em. Also have a couple of sets of super swampers. Mine probably owes me £1,200 and I don't regret a penny of it. Keep up the great video's. Your doing an awesome job. John
Logan, I'm running the Flysky GT5 on my rear steer Capra and I control the front steer on channel 6 (right side dial) and the rear steer in the steering wheel my theory is that your able to point the front tires where you need them to go without having to hold the wheel, then your able to put the rear tire where you want without having to fumble with the front steer while trying to control the rear. It takes some getting use to at first but it has improved my overall control of climbing. Give it a try tell me what you think.
I have been looking at one of these as my next build. I just finished up a gspeed v3 that is an insane crawler but I built it strictly for on the rocks or comp only. I have a trail/crawler rig but it’s about to get a v3 aluminum chassis and I might hand it down to one of my kids.
Got one at axialfest this year and already have vanquish axles and reefs 900smart f/r and vanquish wheels ssd knuckles and covers front and rear and vanquish incision portal gears and ring and pinion its a beast and i have a tekin rx4 roc412 combo i have close to 3k into mine 😵💫
I've been on the fence with this truck. I live in the mountains, so i primarily do brook/stream crawling. I have a Traxxas Summit, but she's a big girl and doesn't always fit through the doorway. Hahaha plus the amount of money needed for upgrades is a big expense. The truck, tires, esc/motor combo, brass, servos and 3 speed transmission puts it around $1,100-$1,500 USD. But i still want one. Haha
What do you think about cutting and flipping the rear shock mounts??? I've seen people do that to get a little bit lower center of gravity in the rear!! Awesome video awesome truck!!!
good servos and electronics can be 500 alone, even more but unlikely on a 1/10 crawler. "metal axles" could be almost $300 a peice, JUST for the housing.
Ha ha! I guessed $2500. I must have left you money for shocks. I bought a Capra kit but got metal axles (KYX) with just a little brass kind of like you. I wish I had gotten two steering axles. Now I'm looking at using the plastic axles on a belly dragger and I will get another steering axle this time. I may put a metal one in the front. Any suggestions for flat rails? I may use an Enduro Transmission if I can stuff the motor out the front. I've got a short Revolver that may fit.
Quick question Logan - you’d been using the 3d printed “foams” inside your tires. I felt you review sounded like they were going to be your new favorite. But you’re back to CI foams. Is that because of the custom tires, or are CI foams your preferred “foams”?
Will the Skyfly GT5 controller make the rear steering in a stock capra turn like yours with the stock servo? I hate the center/partial turn/full lock that the stock rear steer does. THANKS
Where did you get those elastic band limiting straps? Can't seem to find them online. Love your channel and Capra! You have some seriously awesome crawling videos
You can actually have fun with it right out of the box. If you want to build it up cheap you can get Amazon wheels and tires and servo. Then a hobbywing 1080 esc and a brushed motor. Probably under $150 for upgrades and will be a pretty capable truck. When people are new to it I always suggest wheels and tires first. Then upgrade as it breaks. That will let you appreciate each dollar you spent more than doing it all at once. This truck is a really high end build with some dream parts on it. I’m not gonna say you can build one better for cheaper, but you don’t have to spend that kinda money to have a fun truck that is really capable.
i know this is an old post but $1500, all in, will keep most people happy for a very long time. first three would be tires/wheels, brushless and weights. when the stock servo(s) crap out buy some good ones. reefs seems to make really good shit. buy whatever you can afford but try to spend the money once and not over and over replacing/upgrading the same part.
its cool you did a build video, wish you did more of them. also wish you provided links for other stuff other than just what you have affiliate links to. you gave a link for the trans but not the skid, dig unit or servo mount. there was so much stuff you mentioned but didnt give a link to. "longer rod ends" doesnt help me.
Rear stead cap build price ? I would say $2,800-$3,100 depending on stealing servos used as there is an easy hundoe between manufacturers . Now let’s see the vid !!!
@@westdesertwheeler last question, is the gearing from the Vanquish 3 gear transmission different from the stock one? Does it make you crawl slower or it's just aluminum/metal casing?
It' not cheap to play that's for sure Including buying my Capra UTB18 and all the part's I have bought I have $2,300 into it, I have bought the FlySky GT5 controller and am waiting for it to come how many car's can I run with it , hoping to run 3 -yes with extra receiver's of course, I have the UBT18 And a Capra 1.9 and I am building a A1 speedy Ti framed Capra 1.9 (waiting on the frame) and I really don't want to have to carry 3 controller's
Yuuuuuch upgrades is always such a money pit... Even my scx 24 is worth a good what 4-5 hundred¿? And I still haven't changed the receiver /esc...so....oh well it's a hobby and a vice right? But little by little and depending on budget and situation. But back to the start... Yuuuuuch

How'd you do that? I wanted to but I was told it couldn't be done
Go with the Rock Pirates chassis and their Capra flat skid
Those 2 axles housing alone are like $550, with car kit, probably going to come in around $2,500
What a rig. Love that thing. Put 100mm Desert Lizards on mine with partial droop. Have been working out well for me.
Love the tire mods! Love the skinny look of the 1.9 tire but taller 🤘🏻

I have a rear steer Capra and my favorite mod is some SSD brass wheel weights in the front it makes it act like the real thing there awesome
I waited a very long time to add weights but I do think it is an improvement for the car!
The stock shocks are pretty good. I got the pen spring mod done to them and I like them better than my aftermarket internal spring ones.
Stock shocks leak terribly

Nice Video. I now want one👀
Makes me want a Capra. I don’t have a 1/10 scale yet. Been collecting parts for a TRX-4. But think I want a Capra too, eventually.

Wicked capra. Just curious as to what link lengths you used or what your current wheelbase is?
For serious question, why don't you sell or trade one of those vp axles for a supershafty? That drive shaft angle is something crazy holy smokes
What do you think about cutting and flipping the rear shock mounts??? I've seen people do that to get a little bit lower center of gravity in the rear!! Awesome video awesome truck!!!
Very Cool Mods and Great Info Share! Thk's!
I’m going to say ballpark including the cost of the car itself…. $1800-$2000
I would guess about $1,500 in upgrades. Really enjoy your videos!!!

I just bought a Capra for 300 would really like to have you look at it to see if I got ripped or not
Realy good one.....
If you ever sell that thing, let me know lol. Also what do you think on a 1/6 capra, I think it would take the cake.
Nice video. Grats on spending that money. Now it's time to buy the aluminum cage by super shafy.
Which do you enjoy driving more, this 4ws Capra or your RC4WD Bully?
Capra more than 10 to 1 honestly. Moa doesn’t get out much. But that’s just me, I trust the Capra much more and it’s way more durable than the moa
wow, nice ride, 1900 maybe!
6:16 how is that different than the stock driveshafts?
The fall at 13:13 hurt me to watch
Yeah, I expected you to be picking up pieces next.
From the looks of things, only the rear is stretched via the Traxxas links correct? Great stuff Logan, your an inspiration to my crawler adventures!!
hi, great video. Can you please tell me how you reverse the rear axle? I want to assemble a rotary axis, but what about the movement. Thank you

What Traxxas rod ends did you use?
Hey Logan. What battery are u using in your Capra .Also what charger are u using. Need to get a new one soon. Thanks bro.
I see your D-links tie rod also flops down upside down
Will the Skyfly GT5 controller make the rear steering in a stock capra turn like yours with the stock servo? I hate the center/partial turn/full lock that the stock rear steer does. THANKS
2800 is my number nice capra
Probably around $1600 ish. But hey still cheaper than a 1:1
Oh man so awesome 😄👍.... costs must be around 2800 $
You need high clearance links from Intheworks rc!
Where did you get those elastic band limiting straps? Can't seem to find them online. Love your channel and Capra! You have some seriously awesome crawling videos
Deezcompanee on Instagram
do you use the Med or Firm Inner foam? (Gray or Black from Crawler innovations)
What pinion and Spur sizes are you running?
From what you spent on this Capra what is a reasonable amount to spend on one for a happy medium
Totally depends on your budget. Also I bought it a piece at a time

Can you tell me In millimeters how much you cut off the tire too make it 22

Too bad the Spectrum 1212 is no longer available.. love you videos keep up the good work 👍
It is available it’s the 1212 black edition
@@westdesertwheeler I used your link and went to the blue one and it said discontinued. I found though thank you.
I've seen where you switch to squid'inserts. How good are they really? Compared to the dual stage foams you have in this rig?
I prefer squids

I bet there are a lot of crawlers out there that have spent more upgrading their rigs then they did when they bought it.
Has to be somewhere around 1500
$2400, I was going to guess $2200!
I’ve spent over $1100 on my Capra (including the rig) and haven’t even got it out of the box yet! 😂
I guessed 2500 that’s cool
Any infor to contact to who build your tires ?
Dude... that's a lot of cheddar.
Does the vanquish transmission come with a dig Survo mount.
The dig unit does but the VP won’t fit in a Capra. UC fab makes an aftermarket solution

In the works RC
