Meus portal covers with dlux fab inners and their axle shafts are the only way I would ever go! They fit together nice give you all that forward biased weight your looking for! Never have to worry about replacing another axle shaft again!
I thought it was too big. Have a trx4m trail king chevy and loved it, great indoor rainy day rig with the kids went to get this and it's a bit on the bigger side and made our indoor course too easy and less fun. Outside I'd rather a 10th scale or as big as they'll make it. I have the 24th scale version and it's like a on top of your desk crawler haha. Wish I had a true 18th, as this is easily a 16th scale imo.
So what's the difference of this being an 18 scale & the TRX4M being an 18 scale? Feel like something gets thrown off on the scale spectrum of these rigs. 🤨
Considering one of these as my first crawler. Never having owned an RC are the mods such as switching out gears etc easy enough as difficult to gauge from the sped up video? Thanks
Curious about the Treal Wheel/ProLine Tire setup. I have run into issues in the past mounting ProLine tires on anything other than ProLine wheels - as a matter of fact the last time I attempted to mount Hyrax tires on Treal wheels, the fitment was off. I did find a work-around by using the plastic rings from a set of Proline Impulse wheels but lost the added weight by using plastic. Did you have to do anything out of the ordinary to get your PL tires mounted? Love Pro Lines but it is frustrating that tire/wheel fitment is not universal across brands...
I have two Capra ‘V1’s’. Both have Treal front portal covers (brass). I run no springs on the green one and it preforms about 3x better than the orange one with springs. #loosethesprings
I’m curious why Redcat is one of the few companies that does a RTR with other companies like the latest release with a Fusion Pro in it the mini crawlers have more RC’s with Furitek aftermarket electronics I just see what improvements they make & it’s not enough to say it’s a V2 I’d like to see one with a brushless system already in it.
i wish there were more rigs this size. its a between size the 10th and 24th really. very little aftermarket parts and of those, quality ones like you found don't fit well and very expensive. my fav rig. don't like what they did with their smart battery setup where you can't even charge it on aftermarket chargers we all typically have.
I'm running 1.9's with jconcepts class 1 tusks 3.93. Perfect size wheels for my terrain. Green compound provides great conformity. What's a good rail chassis upgrade for the utb18 ?
A question: Am in the run to get my first crawler but am torn between the UTB18 Capra v2 or the Furitek cayman pro v2. What would you pick up? thank you.
The UTB18 is MUCH bigger, so if you want to stick with a smaller scale, then go with the cayman. If you are going to be outside hitting some big obstacles, the UTB is probably the way to go. I will say I am totally in love with my UTB18 at the moment
So dumb that they did not use a DSM receiver. They even have a product page on the Spektrum website that talks about dual mode receivers that they could have used but chose not to. I would like to use this with my DX5C without needing to replace the ESC and RX.
Right now there is 2 (what look like), color options, but the orange color-way is like 40 bucks more expensive. I got the green one cuz well, 49 dollar difference and I couldn’t tell anything was different under the spec’s. My question is, what’s an easy visual way to tell if the one I got is a V1 or V2! I did notice they have a model number that was AXI01002T1 (green), and AXI01002T2 (orange). Clearly there is the 1 vs 2 difference in the name but what I’m seeing else where for the V2’s is that they end in V1/V2 not T1/T2. So I’m not sure the 1 and 2 even relate the which version at all. Help plz! If the green one is V1 should I keep it or do I need to return it for the V2 and f its worth it?
If you like the v1 I wouldn’t sweat upgrading to the v2. Full disclosure if horizon hobby had not sent me the v2, I wouldn’t have bought one (I was happy with my v1)

Dont get me wrong, I love my UTB18 and have it pretty well upgraded, but this seems like a pretty lazy "V2" release.
It is I have the first version & the best thing about this coming out is I may get another original because it’s on sale now. 👍
You do a great job of describing everything! I love this truck I have several fun to play with multiple friends!
Best wishes from Colorado
Seems like a good in between size to the 1/24-18 and the 1/10 stuff.
Kool ...I luv mine running a hw 1080 and a spektrum radio still stock tires if you tape the holes in the back they hook up for days
i have the green and gray V1 with just some treal links put on it. Fun rig! I do wanna do more to it but its stock otherwise! awesome rigs!
Awesome video. Exited for more utb18 content!
I have the V1 with outrunner 2835, powerful motor. For me, the best thing with this UTB is that you can use 1/10 scale parts, that help a lot

I was just thinking man Cape sure does need a new project 😂

They're not difficult at all. It's easy to work on and the larger sized hardware is nice.

Other than a furitek system mine is still stock and rocking.
The answer to fix this is just making kit form, no electronics no tires no wheels fixed

Thanks for your great video... Question, please: Is the V2 worth the extra $30 over the V1 that's now on sale?

I’m looking at the Furitek Ti Cage for mine.

U should get the temper gen 2
What scale system are you using?
1/18 scale
😆 I should have been more specific. Your digital weighing system. It looks like my skyrc but your pads look smaller than mine.
The axles for this car are more expensive than the 1/10 scale
So v2 is better then v1?
Moderately. But like I said, if you can grab the V1 at the discounted price while it’s still available, that may be the better move
This 1/18 scale is closer to a 1/10 scale
Actually it's close to a 1/14 scale.
@@XtrmTJ97 did you do all the measurements in the weight and the wheelbase and everything like that actual calculate it oh OK
@TheLilhulk1111 Yes, I compared it to other 1/14 rc's I have and it seems to be closest to 1/14 scale.
