Predator sounds like a great name for this build. With all the new dimensions you added with the upgrade components, its gonna be nice when you hit the sweet spot for your style of crawling! Then all you need is a Predator themed paint job!! Great video, and keep them coming!!
I don't have a Capra but I did a brushless conversion on my Bomber RR10 and a smaller pinion for sure helps correct the "Twicthy-ness" thank you for always sharing builds with us!!!
I love my gt5. I use the same one on all my trucks. You can also adjust throttle curve and many other things and it also has a gyro, so essentially DSC. At this price the radio is one of the best bang for the buck.
That creaking is the front driveshaft coupler, on the transmission end. The metal pin inside the u-joint rubs inside on the plastic. A little gun oil solved the creaking.
I know this is an old video but the creaking is from the drivelines. Metals ones fix it and also make it a lot smoother. Much less slop in them than the plastics! I noticed the creaking in your Beetle conversion video as well. Thanks for all the vids, been watching all the UTB ones!
I got a neighbor who swears by Flysky, so much so, he has it in his RCs that he has left. Lol Just surprised that you can run multiple RCs off that unit, just......WOW!
You know these custom car shops that pick up some expensive cars and custom make them for customers. Like they do it two ways: 1. Your style 2. Custom made based on customer requests. You can actually do that to any RC fan that would pay the price. Trust me, I would love to have at least 1 or 2 of the rigs you have and I'm from a different country where RC isn't popular and hobby grade cars don't get traction. Imagine what you can do locally! Just a thought! Great built btw!
Thank you! I’ve thought about that, but I’m really limited on time. If I was going to do it, it would have to be a business model where I control the supply. Building one build a month and putting it up for auction or something like that. I don’t have the bandwidth to take request’s unfortunately
@@CapeCrawlers when you do decide to make one a month and create a business model and find the time, reserve the first one for me. I'd love to have one of your builds. 😇

I wrote off the Capra18 initially but with the right parts this thing is actually pretty sweet! I'd love to see a rear steer walk through someday maybe
@@CapeCrawlers I have rear steer on mine and with the FSGT5 it is super easy. I put the rear servo on channel 6 and steer with the pot on top. I run left-handed so right hand is throttle and left is both steering, front and rear. I run Reefs 422 HD v2 on both front and rear. Mamba Micro X2 and Holmes Revolver rather than the Furitek although I couldn't say one is better than the other. Wish I could post pics here. Maybe will email them to you. At the end of the day, love my UTB18.
Rear steer is easy with an upgraded radio. The axle comes built. You just bolt on a servo and switch out the axles. I run a GT7, so I can move a knob located next to the grip. Super easy to use. I don't need to take either of my hands off the radio to do any switching or steering.
The squeekie old man noice is coming from the rear axel on mine. Keep the radio and the capra turned on and turn it upside down. Rotate the wheels on each axel by hand and listen for the creak. Hold the axel and you will feel the creak inside. Haven’t opened it yet so I dont know exactly what it is. Thank’s for a great video!
That damn creaking! It’s the front axle flex I think. I just did the injora brass servo mount and now mine is making the same noise. Ripped the whole front end apart looking for a problem. Nothing some Treal housings can’t fix. 😂
I set my low speed to 4 or 5 and my punch at 1 to 3 for a smoother low end on the app. I find the response so good when you hit the throttle that you don't need the punch very high.
I love this rig! Nice upgrades and definitely a critical component for this platform. The internal shocks seem to unload prematurely while articulating. I'm able to incline 60 degrees with suspension tuning. Good job! Keep it up.
LOL, I was wondering if you were gonna mention "the creak"! Everyone I know has it develop. especially once you put some torque through it. i think its a driveshaft area thing... The build is coming along nicely. Such a great platform!
I wish the wires on the Lizard pro were longer, I ended up mounting the ESC under the battery tray with double sided tape, but I am not convinced yet. Great job on the install video! Thank you Adam.
Totally agree. I wish I could stick it next to the receiver in the factory pocket. I'm going to try to ziptie mine to the chassis tubes behind the door as my tape is not holding
Do you have any in depth videos of installing everything? Like the axles, the servos and the motors and what you did to program them? I’m brand new into the RC world and a little overwhelmed by it. I would really like to upgrade my capras motor, sevro, and axles but don’t know all of what I’ll need or exactly how to do it
Did you test the motor/ esc as it came? I tested mine stock & the throttle was touchy & even though it crawled slow it seemed to jump to another gear noticeably but after I tuned it & adjusted the drag brake it’s much smoother now. It’s nice to have the phone app to adjust the settings that’s kind of mind blowing.
I would love to see somebody use the Futaba T4PM TX/RX for the SCX24. I can not find anyone using it with the SCX24. I am going to have to get me that UTB18
