I found that a heavier set of rims made a huge difference. I was able to use the heavy springs in the rear and the lighter kit spring in the front. This keep the uphill shocks from unloading and making the body lean to the downhill side and rolling over.
I chuckle or wince every time I see/hear "RC adventure". It's like 'Sanitary engineer' or 'Wastewater treatment center;' it's total puffery. Everyone knows you're talking about the garbage man and the sewage plant. We're PLAYING with our TOYS, and it's as simple as that. Lol :-D
I have done the same setup as exocaged rc by using small short bungee cords. It works and it don’t loose the flex. And works great 👍 watch his channel and he will show u how to do it. Definitely brings it down and with the pin spring mod u loose flex. So yeah the bungee cords work great. Also I added 107g brass to each front wheel. Love it and the bungee cord mods already. But now I want to get rid of the factory tires and wheels!
New sub here and a complete NOOB when it comes to building these things. I have owned quite a few over the years, but have never built one. I assume coming from a very automotive mechanics rich background I will not have too many issues. My question though...Are straight axles interchangeable? I would love to use these axles on another kit, but to buy them outright is insanely expensive. Thank you and keep up the great videos. I've been binge watching for two full days!!!
Looking forward to your review of the RTR version and how it compares to your kit version you just finished - I’m definitely thinking on going with RTR version
Nice video and that's an awesome playground for crawlers. I have the Danchee Ridgerock witch I jokingly call a poor man's Capra...I'm curious since you have driven both on similar terrain. How would you compare their crawling performance on a scale of 10 let's say...
Try the optional Axial Soft/Soft Springs - Purple #AXI233004 to bring the overall height down. Have them on both ends of my Capra. May try Soft/Soft (front) and Soft (rear) at some point.
Are you coming to USTE (Ultimate Scale Truck Expo) this year Greg? I remember you were at ECSC a few years ago. I think you'd have a great time and I know you'd get tons of great footage and material for articles.
Nicholas Barber I was talking to someone earlier this week about going. I’ve wanted to go, the event looks amazing. I’m certainly going to try and make it happen!
If only other video reviewers would prepare to the extent you do, then go briskly from point to point without repeating, pausing, lame jokes. In short, another great video.
Great video Greg, I am loving my Capra. I too went with a brushed system and it has been an amazing trail and crawler. I think you hit the nail on the head with your review of it. Am a huge fan of your channel, I never miss yours or RCN videos! 👍👍👍👍👍
Rich Homan Thank you for the support! One benefit to being a little late on the review is getting to see what people are doing to it. I saw people swapping axles, deep discussions on motors and many other topics on a just released rig. I think some people that stumble on these groups may get scared away from the Capra with so much technical talk. I wanted to show it’s a super capable buggy out of the box. That it will do well on even a basic power system. Modding can be cool, but not at all necessary.
@@rcdriver I agree 100%, i have done very little to mine and it has been amazing. I started making videos of it right when it first came out and got a lot of people asking what i had done to it, they were surprised when i told them basically nothing. Looking forward to seeing more videos!!
I'm not much into rock crawling rcing anymore but these buggys seen nice and you can make then fast. Are you using a gopro 8 to film or a phone. The follow shots are not jumpy.
Mike Petersen That would be a cool idea, but probably not going to make my project list. My thing is just hitting trails to crawl and drive for fun. I’ll tweak the suspension and steering, add a little weight up front and just enjoy it as is.
TrailCrawler 203 cool - thanks for that simple direction. Suspension upgrade too?? Looking at a few different rock racers, Axial, Team Associated, Losi (the usual suspects), but love the look of the Capra.
@@mikepetersen8585 I was more saying it tongue in cheek. I've had a Wraith Spawn with a 20t on 3s, and the Capra with the Axe 2300kv on 3s is definitely faster. Though, I've not actually done any "rock racing" per se. Join the Capra group on Facebook. You'll be surprised on what people are doing with this platform.
These kits are not that difficult. I prefer kits because you'll have a better understanding of how it works but most importantly if something breaks you'll know how to fix it.
Theres definitely something added to it, I've dropped/rolled/bonked mine off rocks a bunch of times. My body panels have some huge dings already but the black plastic seems pretty tough. Water and mud tests will come soon, lol.
Steezy James no they don’t lots of axial models don’t for some reason! I had a Axial Yeti XL and it did not have a on off switch. Just plug it in and go or unplug and it’s off
16:00 hit your MUTE button, you're not going to hear the Capra anyway, and if it's late you won't wake the neighborhood or rattle the teeth out of grandpa's dentures. holy carp that's awful.
I was tempted to quit when that awful music started, but I wanted to see your build in action. How about for 2021 you let us actually hear the vehicles running. Way back when, or as the kids say, back in the day, all my hot rods had no stereo not even an old Delco in the dash. My friends used to ask me don't you miss listening to music, and I would point to the motor and say "That's all the music I need". Please let us hear the vehicles not the crappy public domain music.
Capra coming TODAY!. Stoked to drive this new RC buggy/ crawler / masher
Great camera work. Lovely rock crawling spot. Truck looks fantastic. I've started saving... thanks for sharing...
I cant wait to get the rtr version. Looks like they used all the same high end components that you get with the kit! FINALLY a nice out-of-box rtr.
Looks like a very capable crawler type rig.Sure looked good with seeing all the flex working together on the front and rear axles. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve ordered one after watching your review. Thank you 😊
Thank you for this beautiful presentation of Capra. 👍 😎 👍
It is beautiful the body of yours Capra. 👍 😎 👍 Yvan
Really solid and comprehensive video! That crawl spot is sweet!
What an incredible location.

Dam ur good at this you talked me right into a purchase 👍🏻💯
Ditto. Building mine as we speak
If you listen to this channel then everything is great lol, I dont think I've ever heard him be completely honest in a review.
Same here
10:32 idk if it's just me or what, but has some crazy flashing action. I'm epileptic and got all fucked up lol.
Me too

The Capra is what I want to get. Thanks so much for the review.
Great vid as always! The Capra is my first crawler and I'm having mountains of fun!
doug148877 Awesome!
Awesome, awesome, awesome ! I love the paint scheme. Keep up the amazing content !
Blackspike85 Thanks! Needed something bright for the rocks. 😀
I had a good time building mine, its a kewl rig
Amazing spot, nice review and agreat paint job!
Congrats
Cool looking truck! You did an awesome paintjob!
luisuet1 Thanks! That was a quick paint job. Some masking tape, airbrush and a heat gun. Done in 1 hour.

Bonjour, super vidéo, jolie Capra, vous avez mis du poids dans les roues ? merci

Great review again Greg 👍🏼 almost 100k subscribers 🙌🤪
Have a great day my friend ✌🏼😎👍🏼
sylvainster30 My kids are excited about 100k. Me... I’m just super excited I get to share RC stuff with a lot of cool people. Thanks for the support!!
Greg after owning it a while what are your most recommended changes or upgrades needed?

Partswise. Is there any difference on the kit and rtr? Cant find any difference on the homepage.
So, is this a better crawler than an Element Gatekeeper Kit?
Thinking of HW AXE540 2800 or AXE550 3300.

Some trippy visuals part way through.
AgentChachi First video with a new editing software. Guess it has an issue since I didn’t see that glitch in my final checks.
No worries. Just wanted you to know. 👍

@@rcdriver Oh 7, cool I dont need to 8 the footage is great. THANK YOU RC-DRIVER.
How would a 35 turn motor do?
Plastic is awesome
What motor and what controller should I use to get my Arrma granite voltage to be able to use 3 sell battery's.
I’d still love to see this as a rock racer - have you considered converting it?
Mike Petersen That would be a cool idea, but probably not going to make my project list. My thing is just hitting trails to crawl and drive for fun. I’ll tweak the suspension and steering, add a little weight up front and just enjoy it as is.
Slap in an Axe 2300kv on 3s, run 14t pinion and you got one.

can that micro servo handle 7.4 volts
What was with that weird Flashy thing that happened
Is the kit something that is hard to put together for someone’s who’s never built a kit especially because of the dig feature?
These kits are not that difficult. I prefer kits because you'll have a better understanding of how it works but most importantly if something breaks you'll know how to fix it.
TorchWood good points thanks
It came with a light bar lens?
Wildman georges rc channel George “They have an optional lens for it” Separate purchase.
I love the color sceme on your Capra. Looks freakn sick man.
Jonathan Hawkins Thanks! Wanted something bright. 😁
The new plastics look like they're glass fiber reinforced - like the plastics in a power tool? Or am I just tripping out.
DecadeOfAggression They’re a reinforced plastic, just not exactly sure on the content used.
Theres definitely something added to it, I've dropped/rolled/bonked mine off rocks a bunch of times. My body panels have some huge dings already but the black plastic seems pretty tough. Water and mud tests will come soon, lol.
Does the rtr version have a on off switch? I can’t seem to find one.

Wait do u build it ur self
I bent one of the stock links
I have one
Sweet Review!
Baseball Card Collector Thanks for watching!!
The body looks too familiar to the new RTR capra...
Can I get it rtr
The Berkivore Axial just announced they will have an RTR.
Thank you
In this video he hasn’t tried the losi Baja Rey yet
Rather expensive considering the lack of electronics and tyres, especially for a kit.
Yup.thats how much here too, thet have rtr which is a better value but nice to buikd your own no ?
Rtr capra coming at end of the month
Crappy music damn.
