When Horizon announced the STX3 I was excited about possibility of a new remote diff ARRMA. But a remote locking axle Axial is pretty cool too. I DIG it.
I have a bunch of RC subscribe in my listing already but I just hit yours because I like your attitude within the first two minutes it’s all about helping and being positive thank you man
I got a few of those "you don't know what you're doing" or "don't show a build you're not an expert" or " just stop making videos" comments on facebook groups when I shared my TLR 22 5.0 build on 22Empire. I guess they don't call it an ELITE race kit for nothing! I'd like to say it didn't affect me, but it did. I also never say I'm an expert, I try my best to show what's happening, what I do, what works, what doesn't, etc. Anyway.. your intro hit home. Constructive criticism is welcome, saying we suck for making non-expert content is not. Anyway.. cool CAPRA RTR!
I never realized you were in VA. I'm in central VA 2.5 hours from va beach. I used to go down to debbies all the time years ago. Sucked to see them close after they moved. Great mini review on the capra! Definitely looks like a good setup.
Great Job tony, I really like my Capra and have made a lot of runs with it. It might be the best out of the box crawler anyone has made yet. Is cool to see that the RTR is the same as the kit. I would like to see that become more of a trend. Have been a fan for some time, was a podcast fan before a you tube fan hehe.
I'm with you man. We need more RTR like this and the new Redcat Gen8 Axe Edition! Wow. Crazy you found me first on the new podcast. Well that's cool. You might be the only person that can say that so far! Welcome Rich!
Looks good, man. Good presentation. If I was into crawling more I’d definitely consider one, but I think I’m content with basic tiny trucks. 😄 Plus, I have to drive, or hike, a considerable distance to get to any decent rock crawling spots. Nice, that it comes with bright lights!
Great video! Can you tell me what's the difference between the Axial Capra RTR vs. The Axial Yeti 1/10 RTR vs. The Axial RR10 Bomber RTR ? I'm looking to buy one of these... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I think with the four link suspension you get more travel out of it, with a three link your restricted to the sideways travel of a ball joint. and a cms on four link you get bad bump steer.
Great video man just wondering because I’ve just got my Capra and I don’t know how to turn it on to start the system up do you know we’re it’s located in the car
yeah ive been subbed to Tony for years, he was one of my first rc channels when I got into the hobby 3 or 4 years ago and he's a straight shooter, a good guy and has top notch production quality. Probably one of the best on RUclips.
Thanks for the sub Mike. I try to be as straightforward as possible and show everything...from the instructions and controller to the vehicle. I rarely open up gearboxes or remove panels to show things, but sometimes I do.
@@cwatson42785 Thanks for the kind words Chris and for being with the channel from nearly the beginning. I see your posts and recognize your car pic on most of my vids bud! Very appreciated
@@CCxRC No problem Tony! Just speaking the truth! 👌👊 Remember to check that punch on your reeper and turn that bad boy up! I love mine. If yours is still on punch one you will notice a huge difference!
Thanks Cengiz. I do. Just wanted to reiterate that I'm still learning. Feel it's important now that we have 25k subs and people might think I know more than I do. 😂
i already have a scx10 ii cherokee version. I think that is good for trail crawling but can't perform any better on rocks with tight spaces. . now I'm looking for a better rock crawler. which is better, Capra or Wraith? both are 1/10th right?
Really like these rigs. Axial got another winner here.. ;P I have upgraded to Metal Driveshafts once. Never did need it.. ;) Whoa sure is a different looking controller too Another great overview brother.. :P
That’s awesome! What color did you get? I’m really curious how the red one looks in person now. The green looks way better in person than any images I’ve seen of it.
CCxRC - we went with the green also - definitely looks better in person for sure - they had both at our hobby town in Wichita, KS, I’ve kinda had eye on green since they announced the RTR - Definitely try to support our local hobby shop like you do as much as possible
I'm having some much trouble trying to set the dig endpoints... I keep getting a loud humming and when I try to set the endpoints it keeps locking the dig and I can't unlock...
Tony if you still have your Capra be careful! I bought one and ended up selling it and just found out the dig servo caught fire and burnt down the truck.
Guys I just bought my first solid axle truck in the losi rock try and the rear axle gears sound a bit rough...Should I put diff fluid in it instead of the grease? Also just a low weight like 30k????
Just do what !! Makes you fell good. That all that matters.. People ARE FUN sometimes keep a( +)... HVAC guy here .. THERE lots of no it ALL's out there..lollol....

@@CCxRC I just got back from hobby town and found out that the Traxxas has hi/lo and locking/unlocking differentials. I also was told to look into Redcat. I haven't had an RC since 1992 so I've been out of the loop for a long time. My one and only RC was a Kyosho Raider 2WD Kit no. 3184
Dustin C Mills you’ll find that many of the crawler guys actual prefer the sport Traxxas that doesn’t have all the extra servo activates stuff like hi/lo and locking diffs. Those models are also a bit less capable on the trail because of how they are weighted. It you aren’t doing a lot of crawling on rocks or crazy side hills, they are fun. I have a TRX4 defender. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s not as capable when it gets technical. Not like a Wraith 1.9, TRX4 sport, or Capra..,or even the wraith spawn (which are just bigger...super capable though) The Gen8 is a good value and handles well...or at least the one I drove.
Not sure. I haven't ever owned or driven a Wraith Spawn. I think these are smaller, have the Dig transmission, and portal axles. This is 1.9 wheels instead of 2.2. So a lot different, but I don't know about performance
