I really like the mini Cap. It has been a great hiking and road trip rig. It is real capable litt9 guy. The best mod I have done to mine is a Holmes motor. Lots more torque and smoother starts. 🤘🤘🤘
Nice. Just bought one a few months back. It’s a great perfect size rock or trail rig in stock configuration. All I did to mine was install the furitek system.
We have 2 of the originals, which are now quite modified. I wish the new version had improved front axle shafts. They might as well be made of glass. The DluxFab upgrade is the answer.
would love to see more manufacturers build in this scale to increase aftermarket parts and lower prices.. the enduro12 should have had similar size scale parts like the utb but they messed it up... there is very little aftermarket parts and of those, extremely pricey such like from dlux. But, having a 24th, a 10th, this one falls right in between which was smart. Great vid and thanks for explaining the differences between the 2 versions
Because Axial did NOT LIST this vehicle scale properly as 1/12th scale, it will not show up for the tens-of-thousands of people who do hobby-grade 1/12 scale dollhouses/ dioramas, etc. 1/12th scale is the most prolific dollhouse scale ratio in the market TODAY and has been for a VERY LONG TIME as it goes way back in the 1950's era when these RC vehicles weren't even a consideration back then.
When FMS showed up in the RC market, their products should have taught these dumbos what 1/12th scale actually looks like, because they (FMS) did it for the 1/6th scale RC market when they released the first true to scale 1/6th scale Willy's Jeep that satisfied the GI Joe/ Barbie doll hobby grade enthusiast. It was much loooong awaited to see a real, highly detailed 1/6th scale RC vehicle for a change. FMS sold them like hotcakes and felt the market surge. When I mentioned 1/12th to them, they listened and still dominate the 1/12 scale market to this day alongside Henguan RC aka "HGRC".
Right now, MNRC is shaking up the 1/12 scale market with their AWESOME, 1/12 RC Crawler MN128 RC Jeep. They can't make the black version fast enough to saturate the 1/12 scale market yet. I got one when it first appeared two months ago. It is by a long shot, the most highly detailed newer model RC Jeep in the market. So be on the lookout for it.
Nice little update from axial. I did make the switch to the Furitek brushless system and I am still well pleased. I am looking for some tires besides the stock ones, of the same size... Cheers
I guess that's why they are blowing out the older ones for 30-40 bucks off. I wonder if that's why some of the Losi stuff dropped dramatically as well.
The SCALE IS LISTED WRONG - 1/12 scale vehicles are around this price range which is what this vehicle ought to be listed as. Otherwise it is the biggest so-called 1/18 RTR on the planet.
Hey so I bought the Hammer Rey because of your video and thought maybe you’d have an answer to this, I opened the battery (Spektrum 3s 100c 3s g2) and was a bit confused because it says lipo and lithium ion, I’ve always thought they were different battery chemistry, have you seen that or know anything about it? I called them and they said it’s the same but I’m wondering if they’re just told to say that or something
LiPo (Lithium Polymer) And Lithium Ion are different chemistries. To my knowledge, Spektrum doesn’t have a Li-Ion in the spec you mentioned. The pack would be a LiPo. They are charged in different ways. You’ll want to charge as a LiPo.
I looked around a little online and some are saying lipo’s are technically called lithium ion polymer so I don’t know lol it’s the smart battery they recommend so I guess it’s alright. I’ve only ever really used traxxas ID batteries that just say lipo. 🤷♂️
Its great but i felt like it was to small for my 1/10 stuff and way to big for my 24 course. I sold it but kinda wish i didnt. I still prefer my 1/24s over my 1/18 as well as my 1/10 over my 1/18. Its a great rig tho
The only thing good about this V2 version coming out is the other one is on sale realistically there upgrades wouldn’t make a difference to me because I’m replacing all the electronics my UTB wa a Fox version & now it looks nothing like the original new metal body panels Furitek lots of Treal parts it’s one of my favorite crawlers & im seriously thinking about getting the the original since it’s only $220 now.
meanwhile listing V2 STILL as an 1/18th scale when it is not, is horribly wrong and unknowingly deceitful. We all know AXIAL CAN MESS-UP A SOUP SANDWICH by listening to their shareholders as opposed to the consumer who actually knows a thing or two about RC "scale".
Agreed. The dumb part is that Spektrum's own website talks about dual mode ESC's that can do SLT and DSM but they still chose not to use one. I am looking into picking up a Radiomaster MT12 that can do DSM and SLT.
I’m not a fan of all these small scale toys these companies are putting out. Much rather have them refresh the 1.9 wraith over anything in the 1/18 1/24. If axial really paid any attention to anything they’d release a moon buggy type crawler. But I’m sure they’ll fuck that up too and put 2.2’s and 6 inch tall tires on a 10th scale sized rig.
This one has audio! Yay! Sorry folks, no clue why the first upload dropped the sound.

Stub axles too. But like you said, Dlux Fab has that whipped
Thanks for the info! I've had to upgrade trans gears (TGH) and driveshafts (Treal) but hadn't found a real upgrade for the front CVDs.
The esc is soooo loud. Any brushed esc that will fit ?
Always been a fan of the axial capra 👍👍
Hurray for sound!!!
Haven’t had that happen in a loooong time lol 😣
@rcdriver still a great video!

looks a real good rig for 1/18th, great video
Yesterday I guessed a crawler pulling a boat
I was close 😁👍
Love the FOX version on any of the RCs that offer it
Excellent review..... Is the version 2 worth the extra money over the original? Thanks, Michael
I just got the Fox V1 a couple weeks ago and love it. Its on sale for $30 less.
Nice little update from axial. I did make the switch to the Furitek brushless system and I am still well pleased. I am looking for some tires besides the stock ones, of the same size... Cheers
Will the suspension work and flex better with upgraded shocks?
Still no other UTB18 6x6’s?
Cool!🎉❤

@@rcdriver right, on the front of the battery it says lipo in one spot and lithium ion in another, it’s strange

They changed the position of the servo wire to so it doesn't tip to the right
We have two, there fun.

They should have upgraded the front axle shafts. I break them every run
Get the Dlux Fab upgrade. Basically bombproof.
Doesn't take much to require a "V2" badge 😂

Disappointed that all these 2n1 are SLT. Can’t rebind all these RTRs to one controller. Having to keep track of a bunch of controllers isn’t fun.
Agreed. The dumb part is that Spektrum's own website talks about dual mode ESC's that can do SLT and DSM but they still chose not to use one. I am looking into picking up a Radiomaster MT12 that can do DSM and SLT.
$200 on Amain right now.. might have to buy another one
Hmm I see $220 for the V1. 🤔
@@rcdriver With code NCF24 the new V2 is like $210 I believe
Any changes made aside from battery charger ? Lmao. Thats a charger update not really an upgrade
Thats not a v2 maybe 1.2 at best 😮😅 luv my fox edition 😊
Not correcting this to a 1/12 or 1/14 is a big downer
you ARE absolutely right - Had I known it is a true 1/12 scale UTB, I would have bought it a long time ago.
lol not much of a “V2”
V2-lite lol. More geared towards the new folks.
@@rcdriver yeah true, good update for the newcomers
Where's the sound? 😂 just kidding.
Don’t scare me like that 🤣😂
