I saw this two nights ago and am SO glad I got to see it with the original cast. This show was awesome. I've never been to a show with a moment like when Andrea Martin comes out on stage and you can feel the air get sucked out of the room and everyone lasers in on her performance. The whole show is amazing. Patina Miller is fun and creepy all at the same time, and while at first I was skeptical about the Pippin actor, he stole my heart by intermission. If you can, go see it!
I just saw this incredible show yesterday and it is definitely a must-see production. Not one moment was wasted and every single second of the show you are entertained with either breath-taking acrobatic and magic tricks, excellent songs, fabulous costumes/scenery, brilliant comedy, the cast's phenomenal acting or a combination of these. I wish I can see this again because it is impossible to see every single thing going on onstage because there's so much to see and every detail is just perfect.
I saw the show on tour two years ago with John Rubinstein as King Charles, Sasha Allan from the Voice and Lucie Arnaz. Pippin was simply spectacular. The circus inspired staging gives a colorful quality to the storytelling.
Saw this a few days ago, with Stephen Schwartz a row in front of me in the audience! Pippin is one of my favorite musicals, and this revival literally took my breath away! I cried at how beautiful it was
Came from LA to see the show and TRUST ME, the circus performers only add to the show. It's still all about the music. One of the best plays I have ever seen!!
My high school did Pippin and it was the first musical I was ever in. It was and is a phenomenal production and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Saw Pippin last night up close in 2nd row - amazing, exciting-this is Broadway at its best -- cast fantastic -- all multi-talented - Patina Miller, Matthew James Thomas, Terrence Mann were awesome - as well as Charlotte d'Amboise, Rachel Bay Jones & the inimitable Andrea Martin-who also got involved in the circus element -bravely singing upside down on a trapeze - standing ovation! Circus element added magic. & the love song by Matthew & Rachel seen up close was truly mesmerizing. Go see it!

I saw Pippin in NYC ...40 years ago! I actually saw it 4 times. Every time I see John Rubinstein( the original Pippin) in something on TV, it surprises me that he's now in his 60's. Ben Vereen played the leading player. I can't wait till the National Tour comes to Seattle.
My school performed Pippin this year, so we went to see the show, We were completely blown away. Everyone was phenomenal especially the leading player and berthe.
I've seen almost everything on Broadway this season. This is by far the greatest show this season without a doubt. Do not miss it. It is honestly spectacular!

How can anyone be afraid. The story really lends itself to the change. I saw Pipin all those years ago and what I love about this is that like Fosse's work, it isn't so shiny that the audience is seduced into NOT seeing the dark and the light together. I think you kids are doin Mr Fosse real, real proud!

I want to see this SOO much. It was the right musical to be put to circus stunts. The show is about big risks and adventure. It is also a group of actors telling the story of Pippin, so it just works.
I lucked into a preview ticket. This video doesn't BEGIN to do it justice. All the performances are even better than they appear here. Matthew James Thomas is godlike in his maille, his sweater...and his skin! Voice of a fallen angel, too.

I have been in 3 different productions of Pippin and am therefore kinda "over" it. However, not only was this the best production of Pippin I have ever seen, I think it was the best Broadway production I ever seen. Ever! And I have seen probably close to 100 shows! DO NOT MISS THIS! It is epic!
We performed this many years ago in the early 80's at my high school. I didn't realize there was a revival on Broadway this year. Good Luck and Break a Leg. :o)
My towns highschool put on a performance of Pippin and it was phenomenal and now I wish I could watch it again because they did a beautiful job but they haven’t posted their video of it yet so I’m watching other things lol

It's true, they enhance it incredibly. It doesn't hurt that some of the principals (Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin, most notably) have some flying skillz themselves! It adds to the story and makes it even more dazzling.
I am dying that I will probably never be able to see this cast perform this! I am so in love with matthew james thomas and patina miller. Sometimes I hate that I live in the south. So far away from my future home, NYC.
I really want to see this. Part of me is afraid that the circus performers will take away from the heart and the story of the show. So, I'd love to see the whole show, becuz I want to believe that isn't the case. So glad to finally see clips!
Actually the fascination with the circus is part of the essence of this show, along with theater and the general performers. Acrobats and clowns are players too.
