- The Nighthawk Custom (that's the name of the company - not indicating a modified pistol RUclips - don't be dumb) BDS9 is an awesome spec 2011 and represents a modern spec that many will find appealing. The quality is off the charts.

Yeah, my wife demanded we buy her a Nighthawk Shadowhawk with SRO, and it was an eye opener. I mean it. I had every Legion that Sig offered and they were just ok next to a Nighthawk. We sold all the Sigs and bought another Nighthawk a Wilson and an SVI Infinity. Not looking back. All my best.
5:12 That hitch as the slide moves forward looks more like resistance from the disconnector being pushed down by the breechface. It's typical to 1911s unless a ramp is milled into the slide to make the disconnector's downward travel less abrupt. The ramp's not a common thing anymore, but old-school 1911 smiths know it as the "Marvel cut," after gunsmith Bob Marvel
Which is ironic because…Nighthawk makes a Bob Marvel model. You’d think they’d know about this cut.
Its definitely the disconnector. Caught me off guard when i first got mine coming from the xc. After a couple hundred rounds, it smooth out a lot.
If Nighthawk made a BDSM, I'd really fall in love with it.
It'll feel great to shoot but the trigger bites you every pull.
Nighthawks are purely out of reach for my budget but I really did enjoy watching you wax poetic about the BDS9.

Got to shoot one last night, video on my channel. A Nighthawk employee and tram shooter brought one over. My first experience with a high dollar 2011. Amazing I guess it's only downhill from here. I shot about 30 rounds, watching you shoot 500 made me jealous 😂

Just picked up one of these yesterday. Will probably send to NHC to reduce the trigger pull - currently at 3.7 lbs. Just a real sexy gun. Can’t wait to shoot it after mounting an optic. Debating amongst the Holosun Comp, SRO or RMR.
I got a 1911 in such a silver "dlc" coating waiting for me while the GS is on vacation (it's actually PVD coating, dlc is actually a specific variant of PVD coating, the TIN titanium nitride that is usually used to make guns that look gold plated but without the fragility of gold plating is the oldest form of PVD)
The cost of these guns has just gotten silly. I know. I know. Nobody is forcing me to buy it. Just silly what it costs now for the same hours and material, for the same craftsmanship vs 4 years ago.

I love my BDS9 and i Also love my nighthawk customs president.. all y’all saying nope to $6,300 and that’s nighthawks price . Mine was $6,780 was supposed to be right at 7k. Must buy from the dealers and they only jack up the prices not going down. I say it’s worth every penny. Range guns with a lifetime warranty. And a baby Glock 10mm for daily use. What else would I ever need to buy as for a pistol again?

I love my custom Nighthawk 2011s that I spec'd out but to me the weakness is the PT grip module, it just has no grip compared to Infinity. Fine for a carry gun or range use (which is why it doesn't bug me) but I know competitive shooters will find it lacking.

Of all the 2011 pistols on the market, what would you recommend as a do-it-all top-pick pistol? Cosaint arms, Staccato, Bull Armory, Prodigy, Atlas arms, Nighthawk Custom, Live Free Armory, etc., what would be your choice of pistol that would primarily be a carry gun, a defensive firearm but also one that would fit in the world of competition. I’m looking for something that I can carry on my farm, on my tractor, around town, and use for the elimination of coyotes and competition shooting. Variables to be weighted are cost, “1 shot 1 hit accuracy,”; “life depends on it,” reliability, and durability. If you had to pick one that would always function, function round after round, accurate, fast follow-up shots, minimal recoil go to gun. What are you picking and why?

I just saw a video from like 5 years ago on recoil spring adjusting and for competition. When you compete, is everyone tired to the same bullet weight? Like everyone has to use 115 gr or 124 gr. Etc? If not, then i have found a near recoil free option for 9mm. It recoils like a .380 and i have chrono readings of 1600+ fps Sounds like bs i know. I am handloading, but they claim similar on their bullets as well and thats what i used as my target numbers for loading. I didnt have any data for the powder i use so i developed the load up and its not anything crazy. If you are interested let me know and i can tell you the numbers. The ammo is obsurdly well priced. And they are actually carry rounds but cheap as round nose plinkers. They are lighter bullets and are frangable on steel but nasty on soft tissue. I’m not affiliated with the company and just stumbled across them, but for snappier guns like the hellcat pro. I use them for carry rounds and it makes a difference.
I can dream. And I would get it quad ported by Mag-Na-Port. Just saying…
Since you have shot an Atlas and a Nighthawk, would say ones better than the other or would you say it’s splitting hairs at this price range?
Knighthawk makes a fine pistol but before I pay their asking prices, I will definitely add some more bucks and get an Infinity.
Heck, I'd rather add a small amount and get a Joe Chambers custom over a Knighthawk.

Even if you are a shit shot, you'd look good with one.
they don't make you perform better and they aren't any more reliable in some cases less - but when they're properly maintained they're generally more accurate - more care is given to how they're balanced so they're sculpted better so more stable at speed. More care is given to the trigger so they're usually great out of the box. In the instance of this particular gun - look at the group it shot. you may look at it and say "I can do that with xyz pistol" - well I shoot a bunch of 2011s and most 2011s I shoot I can't get to get that many touching at 25 with off the shelf ammo. With hand load JHPs it becomes closer - but still.
