I used work security during the graveyard shift at a place that got a lot of different types of people (I'll let you read between the lines there). While I didn't carry a firearm (just a baton & pepper spray), I always wore a vest due to the risk at the site. It's definitely a peace of mind thing.

I’ve said this over a dozen times. The body armor is made wrong . Not enough protection in the upper corners and not enough protection for the throat . Let me know when these poorly designed vests are made properly
I would if I could afford it. The last one that I own I gifted to a friend on SWAT squad here in Janesville because he couldn't afford one. That one was gifted to me.
I have started street skating at age sixty five. I push around a wheelchair wearing football pants elbow knee and wrist. The vest looks good for rib and shoulder protection.

As a tradesman there are many job sites where I will be wearing body armor from now on in addition to CCW.
