  • The Staccato XC takes the duty background of the Staccato lineup and honors STI's race gun roots. The result is a 9mm so soft and flat shooting it's tough to look past. It's expensive - but worth it.

You could buy a threaded barrel “P” version and add the comp. Or.. send the Staccato P to skips guns to have him port it. Both options are going to be cheaper. I couldn’t tell you the difference between the 2. However, the XC has a better trigger and ultimately a better design. I have several ported/comp guns and they shoot absolutely flatter/stay on target better.

Your buddy Brandon is absolutely correct. It's really hard to understand just how good the pistol is until you get it in your hands.
A year later, Safariland does have XC specific holsters now. I've got the Leupold DP Pro too, and a Surefire X300U, so I had to wait a couple months for Safariland to build mine, but it's a nice rig.

XC owner here. Mine ran over 5,000 rounds with no cleaning. Needs lubrication at about 750 rounds or it starts to chug. I ended up going to a 9 lb recoil spring. The factory spring tends to exacerbate the chugging when the gun is dirty and feeding issues may occur. Duty holsters: the M&P 2.0 5" 63xxRDS holsters from Safariland work well with a small amount of heat modification. RDR Gear will do this for you as well.

It is expensive but if your gonna pay 3500 then 4300 is not that far off. I loved mine so much I bought another. The only other one I was considering was a sand/ nighthawk trs comp. But the wait time was long and the grip felt better to me on tha xc. The slide is butter smooth the trigger is soft with a clean break it is a lot of money 💰 but if you wanna play with the big boys and let your nuts 🥜 hang. It makes you a better shooter for sure.

  • @czechtactical8388

Do you find that there is a slight amount of rotational movement ( wiggle) of the barrel when the slide is forward in battery as a result of the island barrel and corresponding slide inlet needing clearance if you grip the compensator and try to wiggle / rotate it? I ask as my STI Costa Carry Comp (the forerunner of this pistol) does this. Not sure if this is normal or not.
I wanted to make a real range toy out my Costa so Extreme full trigger kit with Infinity trigger shoe, Limcat stainless grip (they do a reduced diameter grip for people like me with girly hands). STI stainless mag chute and full length tungsten guide rod. It makes a not inexpensive gun expensive or in the same price category as an Atlas but a non plastic stainless grip makes it shoot a lot flatter and a plastic trigger I took it as a throw away as I knew my preferred trigger length was different.

Nice! Fun to see you so enthusiastic. How about testing it against a P with a DSC comped barrel installed? Can you get a hold of a DWX that's had its barrel cut with a port?

Great video as always but I have a question. Am I the only one/idiot that pinches his support hand pointer finger between the Comp and slide while racking the slide? I swear I get myself at least once every range trip just past my second knuckle on my pointer finger. Maybe it’s just me because I never hear anyone else say they’ve done it before.

Shoot some of your open matches with it and do a break down so it gives dudes that don’t compete an understanding of why it’s not “competitive” in open. Before I competed I would have thought a gun that cool/expensive would be awesome for competition, because most people don’t understand major/minor and why you can’t load any gun to 9 major.

I put a Cheely grip on my XC, pinned the grip safety, and the result is 90-95% of my Atlas Erebus (for significantly less cost). Overall Atlas is still in another league, but a few tweaks to the XC gets you very close.

I believe all the new Staccatos are running the TAC grips. A bravo to them for that! The "old" or original grips were the worst! They forced you into either stippling or buying a $600 grip to be able to hold onto the gun. and the real pain in the ass is that curved PLASIC trigger! Come on Staccato, offer "real" triggers!
And yes, I do own a few Staccatos, including the XC, and my GAWD, IT IS A MACHINE!!!!

The XC shoots a world better than the P. Shooting with the XC is almost taking candy from a baby. Paired with my SRO, can easily do 1” groups at 15 yards, 2” groups at 25. At 5 and 10 yards can hit the same hole over and over. The P has a a much heavier trigger and the compensator on the XC keeps it flat. My favorite pistol of all.

  • @bradpowell843
    @bradpowell843 Год назад +2

My brand new XC had noticeable side to play on the slide and stove piping issues with the SRO that was very hard to fix.
It’s a good gun but not hand fit even close to the big boys like Infinity and Atlas.

The SRO overhangs at the ejection port of most staccato’s and will induce malfunctions. Change or remove the optic.

7lb?! Wut. Maybe I’m ignorant not being a comp shooter but wow. Is there any buffers inside or just the comp bleeding off the slide speed?
