Thank you for this video! I've been waiting two years for my XC to get here...okay, it's been since October 14th, but your 16K review made me very happy with my $4K plus equipment purchase. It's going to make the rest of the wait worse, I fear.
“… you don’t even have to unzip to count them all.” That’s a helluva thing to hear when you’re fast forwarding 😂. Thanks for taking the time to update people.
Watched the original XC video and nice to see a follow up after so many rds through it and hard use. Appreciate the sense of humor as well. I have been saying that the XC is the best bang for your buck 2011.
As a guy from Texas i watched the whole video just to hear you cussing with that great accent. People would love you down here. I honestly have no idea where you’re from but I’m pretty sure if you heard me talking/cussing, you’d know exactly where I’m from. Or at least the general direction. Great info on top of the humor as well. Nicely done.
I am shooting USPSA limited optics with a Staccato P. I am at 14k rounds and I log every time I shoot, every time I dry fire, every time I clean. I have changed the recoil spring twice and clean at least every 500 rounds. At around 9k rounds, I had a gunsmith break the pistol all the way down for a full cleaning and inspection. Like you, the reliability has been phenomenal. I wore out a magazine and ended up changing the springs in all of them. I also use an SRO and I have had spent casing stuck under the front lip of the optic. All in all, completely fantastic.
Great video. My P, duty carry, just broke 11,000 rounds since last November and it looks pretty similar to yours but runs smoother than ever. Love the sense of humor. Subbed.
I absolutely agree on the trigger weight. I've felt garbage 3lb and great 8lb triggers. It's about how readable and predictable the pull is unless someone has some sort of physical disability that makes opening a soda can difficult.
Very true. Light doesn't mean right. No creep, short take up, short over travel, short reset, each done properly makes a huge difference no matter the weight within reason. knifeMaker
Awesome review, praise be the YT algorithm for delivering this to me. I was considering getting one since I like my Staccato P so much. One thing about the optic, I've found that in a lot of cases, blue just doesn't do the trick. I recommend VC3, it's the only thing short of red loctite that has actually worked. You just apply it to the screws, let it do its thing for 30 minutes then tighten it down.
This is the first video of yours I have seen. Just the Yankee Marshall bit was enough for me to subscribe…turns out it’s a great video and I love the channel!
I went to a staccato day at my local range and they had a P with over 100k rounds. I got to shoot an XC and it is the nicest thing I’ve ever shot. I have an XL because I like the long barrel and iron sights
I bought one. Its worth it but in some ways I regret it. I am a casual shooter and practice mostly with the 22 and the carry piece. The xc is way too big for me to carry so it gets 80-200 rounds/week depending on what else I brought and how much time I have. It sounds silly bit it has actually saved me money. I wanted to collect more pistols and bought this when it was available. Since then, basically every other pistol feels like the money is better off somewhere else. Like shopping for Mustangs when you have a Porsche in the garage. I am an enthusiast, and mustangs are cool, but the porsche ruined my collecting goals with a "whats the point?" You can do different, but you can't do better in any attribute without making significant sacrifices somewhere. For a full size pistol the XC is definitely sitting on the optimal tradeoff curve.
I hear you there and 100% agree! I have a little over a dozen STI pistols, in various 1911 and 2011 frames/models and a few other models/makers (FN, SW, SIG, etc) ….I managed to get my hands on an XC slide and island barrel earlier this year. Fortunately, I was able to take them to Benny Hill (if youre not aware of him… give him a lookup) and he made me my own little BHXC 😂 …… now, all but a couple of my pistols just seem …. Bleh
Man…I totally agree. I’ve put enough $$ into my P, C2, and now CS…to have bought a couple of XC’s. I’ve got an EDC X9 with upgrades that surpass the XCs cost. I’ve also got a couple of Buls that cost more than an XC, with SRO and light, would’ve cost. I know none of them can touch the XC. I feel like buying one would ruin it for the rest. Weird feeling but…being honest here.
Been shopping for a DS2011, didn't really want to spend the kind of $$ that the XC costs, but wanted to do some research. "Is it worth it?" and "Will it make be a better shooter?" Seems the answer to both questions is yes. I haven't found a reputable or respectable RUclipsr yet that said it was not worth it or helped them shoot better. Thank you Brent for putting it in such a succinct manner. 2:30 "Yes, this gun is worth it." Long term update, reliability, and wear just means this pistol will be totally worth it. Thanks for the trigger pull! I'm hitting the enter key with my middle finger too. I watched your video twice, subscribed and liked it to help out.
The Dawson optic screws strip so incredibly easy. I've ordered a bunch of Torx RMR/SRO screws from Jagerwerks. Paired with Vibra-TITE. I've never stripped one of them and I've never had one come loose. Much more surface area bit engagement on the screw head. Doesn't strip and I'm not twisting/snapping allen keys trying to break them loose. I use those Jagerwerks optic screws on all my Staccatos, Glocks and 1301T.
Excellent video! Way late finding this channel, but happy I did. Thorough review and your sense of dry humor and delivery is perfect for my mindset. Instant subscription. Keep up the great work!!
A proper, high-quality holster goes a long way for carrying full-sized guns concealed, IMO. I have an XC on the way I plan to carry appendix in the warmer months, and OWB during the cold months. Never had an issue carrying full-size pistols either way. Because I plan to carry it, I ordered mine with the 4-4.5 lb trigger pull. For reference, I'm 5'7" and 195 pounds with an athletic dad-bod-esque build.
I had the same optic plate issue with a poor man’s 4.25” Prodigy . My problems were more related to Cerakote in the threads and once I re-tapped the treads cleaning all that garbage out, my optic stopped flying off the firearm.
Thank you for making my day brother. Love how you roll. The finger at the end with the trigger pull gauge was absolutely priceless! On top of being extremely entertaining, your content was also very useful. Im going to check out your products. See you on the next one.
I definitely appreciate this video especially when properly giving a firearm the marathon run. Personally, I've been saving up for one as a self-gift for when I graduate the Police Academy. Knowing that this pistol is a worth it investment cements my goal. Thank you for sharing, I love the sarcasm/ realism.
Just make sure the 2.5lb trigger is approved for carry on your department before you order/purchase. Staccato will make yours with a 4.5lb, which may be better for duty carry.
I believe that this is my first comment, ever. You cracked me up. Great review and love the summation of the trigger pull. You’re my first and only subscribed 2a channel. Appreciate the honesty and humor.
I cannot believe I haven't found these videos before! But, since I found how great the holsters are and I was fairly ignorant about holsters other than..duh you need one....I've been learning a lot. Knowing you compete and use this gun as a tool, more than just personal protection, I understand why you would spend a large amount of cash. I enjoyed the video, nicely done, like the dry sense of humor and presentation style. For me, the cost of this gun is what I’ve spent on my 3 primary higher end handguns. RIP - SRO red lock tight is for real. When I have an extra 4K cash crying to be spent I would consider this gun. Or a stage II on my Harley, first world challenges for certain.
First time seeing one of your videos. I subscribed just for your response to the people who demanded a trigger pull reading and the last part of this video as well. The entire video was great. Classic
😂 wise ass. Id work with ya. I just bought my XC this year. Call it an upcoming retirement gift to myself. Strangely, in 19, thats what i told myself with the P model.😅 Only 1300 or so in but i love it. Duty carry, concealed carry, all the carry. Did swap rexoil and firing pin springs to the 10# 5" standard. Needed a little more ass than the 7# to combat my distaste for cleaning.

I bought the P about a year ago. Kind of wish I hadn't because I like it so much now I feel like I have to have the XC. Great review. Nothing, not even inanimate objects, should ever be subjected to the yankee marshal.
I have the P for ex protection job. It’s at 10 months with 7000 rds. Issues have been rear sight came loose, fiber optic went mia((which I expected and replaced with a tritium sight from Dawson) and the screws on the trigger guard came out. I keep a dedicated recoil spring for work with 2500 rds on it and will swap out the practice spring at 7500 rds. It’s great. I’m asked a lot if it’s worth the hype. My career started with a custom 1911 and a beretta 92(Glocks replaced the berettas in 96’), a few of us wanted a combination of the two, this is it. I still use Glocks plenty, but if I can use this, I do. I’m with you on its trigger, I don’t know what the weight is nor care, it’s a nice trigger.
$8290 Australian dollars. Limited to 10rnd capacity only. Extra mags are pushing $270 each. I have a Holosun 508T ready to go. It’s a ridiculous amount of money, but I can’t seem to get past buying one. Great long term review 👍👍
That is insane. And from what I understand in Australia, you have to leave it locked up at a shooters club? So 8k+ for something that will never fully be yours. I understand that guns can be had in Australia and other countries make it so difficult to get, and so easy to lose. Why gun culture in other British colonies and commonwealths has mostly died off.
Initial out of box clean, then It took 1400+ rounds (lost count) with no cleaning or oiling for it to fail (feeding issues) And then I just douched it with oil and I was back in business! Cleaned it shortly afterwards. By the way, Love the holster
I had to go back and watch this for the 4th or 100th time just for you brother! “and more for me” As I am waiting on my XC and just need the good news you speak! Thanks and please keep up these outstanding videos! ps- I made sure I was subscribed, notified, and liked 😂 Twice.
Awesome video man! This is exactly what I was looking for to help justify buying such an expensive pistol. The way I see it, I’ll have it till I’m dead, so it’s worth it!
Actual line of events.. -I watched your video and enjoyed the information and your personality -click on next XC video... someone who has tons of videos, followers etc... and clicked right off because his audio was terrible after just watching your video -I go back to your page to watch some more content and realize after a half scroll your videos start to say "3 years ago" and I was shocked. your production value is extremely high and I appreciate your videos. Hope to see you milking more teets here soon. P.S... that yank M skit was so funny. Throw a Scootch skit in on the next one. lol.
I appreciate the positive feedback! High production value is tricky for us with a non existent production budget( I spent all the money on ammo and guns). But we do our best to nail down the important details as much as possible. Slows down the output schedule, but just like our products, we aren’t interested in producing high volumes of a low quality product at a fast pace.
i too subjected myself to years of psychological torture at the hands of the Yankee Marshall... then i learned how to just stop clicking on his increasingly asinine videos.... ive been marshall free for 4 years now, and next to getting sober, its the single best thing ive done for my mental well being
@@GuyInMassiveDebt ironically, I quit drinking around the same time I stopped watching his videos... I'd like to think the two are unrelated... but perhaps not lmao
Nice work - very nice. I’ve had mine for 6 months. As an aside, it’s not my favorite as it must compete with an Atlas Artemis and three MPA guns for my time. But, your video is a breath of fresh air. Well done.
I have shot 9300 rounds through Sig Sauer M18. I agree about the expense ammo ant cheap. It took me 3 years to reach that amount with only 1 single stove pipe.
Excellent and thorough review. On a beautiful piece of engineering in a firearm. Its just hard for me to spend thousands on a 9mm handgun. I have thirty-seven firearms. I can see that kind of money in a rifle or a rifle caliber pistol with brace. Even the STACCATO P is $2K plus. Scheels online has the STACCATO C2 for $1,999.00 But for $1,800 you can get the beautiful Dan Wesson DWX or Compact. Peace
It’s all about what role it fills. If it’s mostly going to take up space in a safe, I don’t think it’s worth it. I don’t shoot most of my other pistols anymore because of this gun. The price to enjoyment ratio is high with this one.
Hey, thank you very much for this gem of a review! Great editing, very nice no-bs attitude, love it! Greetings from a German aiming to move to the US 😉

@@a.c.garcia9983 you’re gonna love it.
your point at the end: SO. DAMN. TRUE!
Solid review. Information on the trigger was very helpful.
I had to go back and watch this for the 4th or 100th time just for you brother! “and more for me” As I am waiting on my XC and just need the good news you speak! Thanks and please keep up these outstanding videos! ps- I made sure I was subscribed, notified, and liked 😂 Twice.
I'm really digging the XC.
@@GLDPVET it’s so much fun. Don’t let it make you lazy!
Awesome video man! This is exactly what I was looking for to help justify buying such an expensive pistol. The way I see it, I’ll have it till I’m dead, so it’s worth it!
I made it that far into the video, dropped a like and considered subscribing. Excellent video.
Really appreciate the update video, love the XC and the hammer holsters. Keep up the good work.
Great video, first time showing up in my feed. Thank you.
First video I’ve seen from this channel - subscribed! Great balance of useful info with some dry humor to make it enjoyable 🍻
Actual line of events..
-I watched your video and enjoyed the information and your personality
-click on next XC video... someone who has tons of videos, followers etc... and clicked right off because his audio was terrible after just watching your video
-I go back to your page to watch some more content and realize after a half scroll your videos start to say "3 years ago" and I was shocked. your production value is extremely high and I appreciate your videos.
If anyone is wondering these holsters are amazing for competition. Very happy with mine
Thanks for spreading the good word!
Good video, thank you. I decided a few months ago that a XC is going to be my next purchase and Dawson is just up the road from me. :)
Me too. Killeen for years, now in the middle of nowhere near McGregor near Space X.
KnifeMaker
Great video! detailed and to the point! Great information!
That Yankee Marshall reference is HILARIOUS 😂
Thank you for this video! I've almost bought a Prodigy DS but now I'm just going to save the extra 1k for a P or C when the C comes online.
Very nice, Dry and straight based on actual experience.
i too subjected myself to years of psychological torture at the hands of the Yankee Marshall... then i learned how to just stop clicking on his increasingly asinine videos.... ive been marshall free for 4 years now, and next to getting sober, its the single best thing ive done for my mental well being
😂😂😂 every so often I think” maybe it’s not as bad as I remember” then I watch another video and it is, in fact, as bad as I remember.
Were you finally able to get sober after watching his videos?
@@GuyInMassiveDebt ironically, I quit drinking around the same time I stopped watching his videos... I'd like to think the two are unrelated... but perhaps not lmao
@@GuyInMassiveDebt 🤣🤣🤣
😂never cared for that guy some guys would say if I spend 2500 on a gun I should be able to do anything to it and it better work
Nice work - very nice. I’ve had mine for 6 months. As an aside, it’s not my favorite as it must compete with an Atlas Artemis and three MPA guns for my time. But, your video is a breath of fresh air. Well done.
Haha solid content man! Keep it up. Loved that TLDR bit.
Awesome vid
I have shot 9300 rounds through Sig Sauer M18. I agree about the expense ammo ant cheap. It took me 3 years to reach that amount with only 1 single stove pipe.
Great review. Staccato ought to give you a commission!
Thanks for the review, i agree with the competition problem, i don't see me shooting in open wiht that
Awesome video man. I’ve had my XC for 3 months and love it.
Great review! 14:20 🤣
Just subscribed- love your wit and sense of humor! Really great stuff! keep up the good work!
Love the trigger pull guage lol
great vid!!!! super legit and knowledgeable!! subbed
Fun and informative video, thanks for doing it!
Hey, thank you very much for this gem of a review! Great editing, very nice no-bs attitude, love it! Greetings from a German aiming to move to the US 😉
My Wife is from Germany. Typical German. When The Rattle Snake bit my Wee Doggie, She marched up and picked up the dog right in front of the Snake and dared it to bite her while She was at it! Stout stuff those German Ladies! 8
This is on my next to buy list.
You're awesome brother!! Keep up the content!
