4:09 an example of how to swap the vocabulary

The making sentences that have hints and very clear context seams contradictory with making sentences with native audio, you probably have to make seperate sentences for each no?

Great video again Will :) Thanks a lot !! If you could just give translations to the sentences you use in Chinese, that would be very helpful for beginners ! I honestly don't understand anything. I don't know your target but it seems you want to help beginners. Besides, I was wondering why you do not put an English sentences and then try to translate it on your Anki cards, but now makes sense, you learn Chinese with Chinese. But in a way, translating a whole sentence allow you to practice recalling the whole sentence structure rather than just a word. mhhh I guess both way work in different ways haha, keep going anyways, thank you ! :)

I think as a beginner maybe having a bit of english could be helpful but as you get more advanced it's probably best to avoid english as otherwise you're training yourself to recall chinese based off english which will negatively impact fluency. Sorry I'll try and add more english next time to make it more understandable

      @@willhartmandarin I see what you mean, it's a good point !
No, no worries at all, you are fluent now so it's hard for you to undersatnd from a beginner point of view, I'm sharing sharing hoping it helps you make your videos even more helpful than they already are :)

Dear Will, thanks for the great video! You said you make several cards for the different meanings/nuances of a word. I was wondering if you write it all in one “data file” within Anki and let the program create several cards for you? Or if you literally make individual cards so they are not related in the system. I hope you get what I mean. It’s hard to explain.😅
And just to confirm as I am not learning Mandarin Chinese but Greek: On the card at 3:14 the photo of the oyster is the hint for the missing word oyster? Or is the picture not directly related to the word you want to recall? Sorry for all the questions.
Greetings from Germany and happy language learning!☀️

Hi there, I make multiple cards to learn the word in different contexts, yes the missing word is oyster, I was using the picture to prompt recall. Hope this helps!

I'm still not too clear about how you review the sentences you mined for review... seems like you have a cloze deletion, but somehow also end up being able to recall the full sentence from memory too? That's where I get confused. You talk about learning the sentence structures in this and other interviews, but how does that happen from just a cloze deletion? Ho you end up remembering the whole sentence? I believe most people's idea of sentence mining might be to just use the sentence for context and for comprehension of the target vocab word only.
