It's always interesting reading Land Rover reliability comments from folks who've never owned one... more pointedly--a new one. I've had 2 w/ 1 minor issue on the 2016 RRSC and ZERO on my 2020 RRS SC w/ 16K miles. (Although the moonroof does have an annoying rattle when open and it's "cold" out). 🤷🏽♂️

HP to weight ratio is everything. The 3.5 ford ecoboost is a monster for what it is... a few small mods and it will hold its own against most. Impressed with the rover but they have been making high HP cars for years and are quick quick! Also why didn't you race from a stop??? Thats where the raptor shines and you didn't give it the oportunity...

The magical 10R didn’t fill in the gap. The 5.0 SC is instantaneous whole the other needs to build boost. Heavier and all, no replacement for displacement. It’s too heavy and has a loaded drivetrain. @@daison96 not really about “beating”…. (We can just look at top fuel to see who is king 😂) turbo just doesn’t feel the same. Some may like it but unless you’re in an environment to really stay on the throttle so turbos can do their thing I’ll take a supercharged setup all day/every day.

I dont know why they felt like the Raptor R needed a GT500 engine. It would have been awesome with just a regular supercharged 5.0 and far easier to get. I think in this case, the TRX pushed ford into a terrible decision.

That small turbocharger engine does a better job than my normally aspirated 5.4 in my fx4, using less gas! Just more stuff to wear out and break! I'd still prefer a pushrod engine, be the variable valve timing in ohc makes them more efficient over a broader range.

Tip, put the Defender into Sand mode and sorts gearbox. Then watch the magic.
Really? I find that hard to believe because dynamic improves throttle response and the tranny holds gears ⚙️ longer in dynamic as well

Depends on the setup. There are plenty of turbo builds that beat supercharger setups. A little more finesse and tuning required, but turbos are great.
