It’s a Lexus and you will be turning over 200,000, 300,000 and more miles while all competitors have long since broken down subsequently and crushed and recycled! Nothing beats Lexus build quality and reliability!!
The 911 is more of a what else could I do for the money? And the answer is this, Less sporty but a bigger more powerful engine in a more relaxed package.
that is the exact conclusion that I came too. It is plenty sporty for general road use...most people will never push their 911 to the point that they could really feel the difference. the LC can perform at 8/10ths without breaking a sweat.
to your point...I literally came down the the 911 4S and had already put down a deposit...been looking for one for over a year when an LC on the highway caught my attention, never had bought a lexus before...to boring...went the dealership for a test drive and put a fork in me. I was done! LOVE my LC and even bought a 3 year old one with 49K on the odo...only because it was a lexus..would never buy a German AMG/RS/M with that kind of milage. GO Toyota!
Very good review. I have the 2018 and love it. Six years and not a hiccup!! The new TOUCH SCREEN IMHO isn't an improvement. It requires the driver to take his or her eyes off the road and exactly like texting on your smartphone which is illegal in many states, once you do take your eyes off the road you can get dead in a flash. The original infotainment system does feature VOICE COMMAND, as does this new one I'm sure. I would encourage everyone to learn the 20 or so VOICE COMMANDS that take care of about 99% of whatever you want to do. You simply press a button and talk to the car. It's so simple and so SAFE!!
@@briannacc3983 No. Lexus slapped on that TOUCH SCREEN and it looks awful. It's hard to understand why people who live in this age of high tech won't bother to learn a few commands. Driving is a very serious matter and in a flash you can go from perfectly healthy to paralyzed for life simply because your eyes weren't looking at the road ahead. My 2018 has been flawless for over six years. I love it. No need to change IMHO. My car is the InfraRed with Toasted Caramel. I got the 20" wheels because of the crappy roads in the S F. Bay Area. I never get tired of driving it.
Great video and Ur right on the money. I got my 2024 about a year ago and love it. The only thing I miss are the massage seats. And maybe…50 extra HPs 😉. Living in SoCal we see bmw, Mercedes, Porsche everywhere. LC500 not so much. One of the many reasons I bought mine.

Great review ! I like the older indash screen better. The design is better imho. The new screen is just not looking good. I don’t care about infotainment anyway. Most probably use WAZE for navigation on the phone anyway. But hey ! I never had one nor ever tried. What am I talking about 😂
The new low-rent Toyota Corolla info screen ruined the beautiful masterpiece of a dash- they just slapped it in there to shut up the whining youtubers. The passenger side of the dash is now just empty and boring, the beautiful analog clock is gone, the CD player (for higher fidelity) is gone. The new wheels are 'me-too' boring design. Late model L-certified 2022-2023 is the way to go.
I have a '20 Flare Yellow coupe. I bought it for the color, most LCs were silver or red. A lot of owners cross-shopped with the 911. The performance doesn't bother me cause it's a huge and heavy car. You're right Matt, you get a lot of car for the $100k range. I'm thinking of selling mine for a Nissan Z or Z06. I know it sounds crazy but I don't drive the LC often.
i dont thing so...low torque vs HP equals low wheel spin from start. Just add about 100 ft pounds of torque (can not effect exhaust note) and that will do it...or dont...
Unanimously loved by the automotive press it seems. This car is on so many people’s radar! Also, the fix for the 24+ by getting rid of the dated trackpad and cheap plastic window fixed its only fault. That tech looked straight up 90s. When these things have interior except tan, they’re 🤌🏽🤌🏽. The tan def makes it old man spec.
The touch screen was a step backwards. Just because people are not coordinated enough to operate the touch pad which you don’t even need to use since you can use voice. A terrible mistake. I will be hanging on to my 22 vert
my previous daily driver was an S63 and I gotta say I dont miss the turbos...speed is relative and lexus engineers were correct that the engine note is a fine substitute to a bit of torque. it makes you feel like you are going faster and ultimately more fun to drive. my 99 F355 was no faster but again similar high reving small dis V8

It has very middle of the road buick-centruy-like driving characteristics. Everything else isn't just faster, everything else is better. Handling is so important, the most important for driver fun and safety... the Lexus has terrible handling. Toyota makes 2 under 50K cars with way better handling, and I am not talking about the supra. For me, this is a Dentist trophy car from 2018... SO DATED. So cheap looking and even feels cheap. There is a reason the LC 430 is consistently voted the worst car ever made by auto journalists... and honestly, is this one any better? Both are numb boats that have zero going for them other than nice build quality. Build quality is important, but almost anything else has better paint, and much better components. ARGH... why do people not actually look into these cars before "emotional" takes over. For the same money, you can by the BMW 8M50 convertible with better handling, better build quality, better engine, etc... Heck, for 74K you could get an RS3... more usuable interior, sleeper super-car. Better sound than the Lexus, WAY better handling than the Lexus, faster from a dig than the lexus, faster on the track (er, can you even track the LC?) And that is just one example. I could rattle off 10 cars much better and still cheaper than the Lexus. It is just tired, old, and ill designed. It has nice build quality, but so little else to recommend it. Sigh.
