Temperature is always a factor in acceleration. The 2025 LC500 coupe will launch to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds with an operating temperature of 195 -220 degrees F and ambient temperature of 70 degrees F (21 degrees C). Lexus added front and rear stiffeners to the 2025, and they supposedly tweaked the transmission logic for even faster shifting. Regardless, you need to enable the LC500 launch control. This is done by placing the car into "D", locating the top left traction control off button, pressing and holding it down until it displays Traction Control Turned Off, and then, after continued holding of the button, VSC Turned Off and Pre-collision Brake System Unavailable. Press down 100% on the brake pedal and then floor the accelerator. The car will rev to 2,000 rpm and hold there until you release the brake pedal. This car will also hit a top speed of 177 mph. I am a prior McLaren owner who just bought the 2025 LC. Speed is ONE measurement in the performance of a car, and it all gets old quickly. The overall driving experience and sound of Lexus' aspirated V8 is what the LC is all about.
Thanks for reviewing this. I've always said this V8 and the M156 NA V8 in the C63 AMG are the most glorious sounding V8s ever. The way this pauses between upshifts and the barks on downshifts is just incredible. I don't care if this did 0 to 100kmh in 4 hours, the sound!
Yeah mate this modern obsession with 0-100km/h times is getting tacky. Yeah there are faster cars out there, and some would say this is slow, but it’s not about that.
Great driving and awesome video! Leaving it in auto let the times down a bit… the manual mode changes the character of the transmission keeping momentum and letting it get to peak power at 7200 rpms
Nice review. 0 to 100 is close to 6 seconds, that's nice, not super sport, but super cool as the whole package with the sound and shape and all. In love with this under appreciated baby. ❤
N/A V8, reliable, splendid build quality, genuine exhaust sound. That's one thing the Germans, or any brand for that matter, can’t achieve with a new vehicle.
Gorgeous car, even if it’s a bit on the slow side, it looks fast standing still. I totally get the experience over the speed. I own an Audi RS5 (NA V8) an AMG C63 (6.2L V8) and a C63 S Coupe (twin turbo V8). The twin turbo V8 is very fast, but driving the NA cars feels so much more satisfying on the road. The sound, and the way you can stretch the gears without going to prison. It’s a better driving experience on the road, where most drivers drive their cars most of the time. I especially love the scream of the Audi as it approaches 9000 RPM.
I have had a Austin mini with about 35hp... drive sometimes a Mazda Miata with well... 140hp? I think that hp isn´t a good way to look for when you try to find a car that make you smile and feel good! Have had a Lexus LS400, GS450H and now a LC500 and all of these cars make you feel good. Good that Lexus has continued refining the LC500 throughout it's production life. Makes you wonder when they'll decide to stop building these masterpieces. These 21" wheels are the same since 2018. For 2024-25 they just reversed the polished vs. black finishes. That and joining the Germans by using wheel bolts instead of wheel studs and lug nuts.
