    I wear a lot of Hoka and Saucony to the gym, but noticed they’re no good for lifting ( no stability and too cushioned) so I’m moving on to Metcon4, I need better stability… I’m looking to purchase these today ❤

    I have TINY, narrow feet and just got these in size 7. They're SO tight. I think I'm going to return them and try 7.5. I am always size 7 in Nikes, until I tried these shoes. I absolutely love them. I'm just concerned about the tightness of them

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +1

      That’s my gripe, too! They’re wicked tight through the mid foot. Mine have broken in decently well, but 7.5 might be safe!

    Recently bought the Free Metcon 3’s for HIIT Bootcamp style workouts (F45) & love them for cardio days there once broken in. As cardio days there is a mix of HIIT, agility, & some weights. They are ok for lifting days there as it’s not that heavy but I can still tell a much improved stability difference in my NanoX’s on lifting days there & in my usual lifts in the gym. These guys are PERFECT for your HIIT style workouts & everything in between. And yes, they do feel narrow on me- I have to wear thin socks.

    I love the look and concept of these but I’ve got crazy high arches and the fixed tongue makes me a bit hesitant. Do you think going up half a size would alleviate the tightness? I have a narrow midfoot and nikes consistently fit me well but I’ve never tried a fixed tongue shoe.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  3 года назад

      Great question - I think in this case try them on before just to be sure (I have a slightly similar foot structure, btw!). At times, the last for men and women's shoes can be slightly different depending on the brand - in this case it might not be - but I also don't want you to invest in a pair of shoes that don't fit well. I think if you went a half size up it would be a safe bet, however, if you can try them on first that will be your best bet. I believe Finish Line and Dick's are getting them in in the next two weeks (at least that's what I was told on the phone), so if you can hold off to try them on at a store near you, I would do that!

      Between these two, the On Cloud X will likely have a better fit if you have orthotics. The Nike Free Metcon 4 lacks volume and I worry they'd be wicked tight on you with an orthotic in them!

    Hi Jake free metcon 3 feels very tight on my feet which gives feet fatigue. I got them 1size big but still they fit way too snug. Do the free metcon 4 feel the same or they fit little loose. Should I go 1.5 size higher with the FM4

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад

      Honestly, I would say pass on them. They also fit wicked tight in the toe box and have limited volume. IMO, this may just be a model that has a last that doesn’t align with your foot anatomy. Do you want some comparable options?

      They're pretty good! Best relative to what? I think this model can be best for some folks, but best is always contextual.
      For example, if you have narrower feet and like to blend lighter lifting + HIIT, then this model does a solid job.

    • @ricardo1322

      No lifting just HIIT all the way. I’m currently using the metcon 7 which I agree with you on the heel issue. I workout on a wooden floor so extra support will be nice

    I am so sick with Nike making shoes that are too tight, just like these and the Turbos. As customers we should not have to worry about size that much when picking shoes. I have one same size for the Metcon Free 2 & 3 and the Metcon 4, 5 & 6. Then the Turbos were way too tight using that same size - you cannot move your toes at all - and no, I do not have wide feet, just normal ones. Now watching this review I am really not compelled to even try the Metcon Free 4. Fine. I will keep my money until Nike fixes all these sizes issues.

    • @thatfitfriend

      Yeah, I would say pass on this model if you felt the other models were tight! These are very “meh” from an overall sizing perspective!

      If you can't try them on, I would go 10 to be safe! I think you could get away with TTS, too, but they'll definitely feel tight and will take a minute to have the upper break in.

    I just spend my sunday with my new phantom 2 more awsome than i thought.First i think this design can support basic workout and stable enough for deadlift and squats not for heavy reps but when running on machine i feel this one is so good when you in high level of running , you will feel this shoes is moving with your speed .Very flexibility with some activities like badminton or long hours walking make your leg keep moving and enjoy these activities even thought it's heavy a little bit but there is nothing to complaine this shoes and next one maybe a basketball shoes for hangout with my friends lol! :))

    • @thatfitfriend

      When I reference general/recreational lifting that's often around 140kg or lower (squats/deadlifts)
      When I reference strength-specific work that's anything up to 185kg - 250ish kg for me (squats/deadlifts)!
      Assume machine work within these parameters around them as well!
