  • In this episode of Blog & Mablog, Pastor Doug Wilson continues his series of letters to a fictional niece about the relationship between the sexes, this time discussing just how different men and women are from each other and how the Bible serves as a Rosetta Stone of the sexes.
"The patriarchy is what it is for us because of God the Father (Eph. 3:15), and not because Christianity was invented by males doing their thing."
Blog and Mablog is presented by Canon Press.

My mother was always honest with me about the differences between the sexes and I got my shock and disappointment out of my system at a young age. Then when I went to college I was shocked at how clueless most of my girlfriends were about how the male mind works. Thanks Mom!

It's difficult to express how helpful and practical biblical advice is in this format. Thanks for your time and effort, Doug Wilson and crew. Always learning and expanding my biblical understanding under your tutelage. God bless

Thanks for continuing to discuss the differences between men and women.
    As a woman I
observe the physical differences between men and women on a daily basis, but often need help when it comes to differences of other types (i.e. spiritual, dating approach etc.).
Thank for noting that the patriarchy is designed by God, since so many non-Christians seem to believe Christians invented the patriarchy. I’m participating in the Same Page Summer Bible plan on YouVersion both to grow closer to God by reading and to see his will for how women should order their lives.
I’d never considered singing in parts as a representation of God directing men to lead women, but as a former high school choir member I understand the analogy. The anologies you offer in your videos are of great help to me.
As for the respect letters mentioned in a recent video I wrote one to each of my parents (mom and dad), that I hope to give to then either when I graduate from college or on my wedding day.

Most of the time the problem is people think other people want the same things they want in the same ways then they get confused and angry when inevitably this is not true.
Woman keep waiting for the "perfect man" to for some reason condescend to choosing her sorry imperfect self while at the same time keeping up the delusion that she is perfect... here's your kitty litter.
Men generally increasingly just want the annoying faux "chasing no not chasing" nonsense over with already so they can move on with their lives so they increasingly don't bother to play along, then they give up on woman altogether because it's just too much effort for nothing in return.
Woman see real men as lazy idiots not worth their time while clinging to fantasies of handsome billionaires while men see real woman as utterly insane and dangerous while clinging to fantasies of sycophantic maids. No one wants to deal with real people anymore and then are rewarded with real failures.

Can ya'll make a Dear Darla Playlist? You have one for Dawson. It would make it easier to share these. Probably would be good to make those categories on the Cannon App as well.

This is so helpful to hear. I suspect that most guys know that you can't really go out with more than one woman in their congregation in search of a wife (even when it is above board and done with honour). You need to lay low because there is a good chance that gossip will ruin your chances.

Tried to help my Mom put her phone (which is super old) on speaker, and look something up online the other day. She responded, "honey my phone is like your Dad, it can only do one thing at a time." I busted up laughing ended up doing the search on mine. "Proper understanding of those differences," as Doug says, is most helpful.

Thanks Brother Doug....one remarkable thing...you indicated, in encouraging the obedience as a female, to generically glory in God's creation, men, your niece may have had revelations about her own heart, as she OBEYED....likewise, word order of Rev 3:3 is obey, repent, wake up......an emphasis lost today. Obey, repent of your divergent ways(disobedience), and wake up! Thanks for reiterating. Godspeed.

Doug i appreciate your content. Please answer one question: my friend suggested that Christ was both male and female at the same time (that he had female chest for example), it sounded really wierd, but I'm not sure what to think of it. What is the traditional view of the church on this? thanks in advance

    • @cosmictreason2242
      @cosmictreason2242 2 года назад +3

Jesus is fully male. Your friend’s confusion undoubtedly comes out of the false idea that souls are genderless. But in fact we are born male with masculine souls and female with feminine souls and it has never been any other way. Jesus as the divine Son added to his person and divine essence a male human essence. Your friend is subtly committing the old heresy which name I forget which said that Jesus was simply a divine spirit in a human body. That’s been a declared heresy for a millennium and a half, that’s what the church thinks about it

Sorry but I'm not interested in the conversation, but there's something important.
Anger is not a sin. Rage, arrogance, and brutality are, but anger is a command.
"Be angry, but do not sin."
Jesus Christ was angry. He threw a fit, flipping tables and lashing people. He even jumped down Peter's throat, looking straight at Peter and saying "Get behind me, Satan." But, Jesus never sinned.
    Next video, Doug?
