The so called vicar of christ/ pope/holy father Peter called himself a fellow elder in 1 Peter 5:1, and as per the qualifications of elder in Titus 1:5-9 the elder is allowed to get married; then why does the "pope" is required to be celibate and catholic? ( when Peter was neither celibate nor catholic).

In my 50's and I can find no disagreements here. Glad to be 28 years married though....
I’ve been married 6 years and as a wife I learned to not take things personally and whatever he says is exactly what he means.
I’m pregnant 25 weeks with our second daughter and loves to tease my belly and says I’m a fat tub of lard in a form of endearment, I say jokingly well yea at least I have an excuse! 😂 joke with your husbands! He’s your best friend!

Communication is one of the biggest issues of the modern 'we're all equal' narrative. If you believe we're equal then women will assume that there's layers of hidden meaning behind every male word, meanwhile men will assume that women speak as directly and openly as men do which will cause said men to miss all sorts of hints and nudges. So it's no wonder that relationships between the sexes are in a bad spot, it's almost like the tower of Babel scenario where confounded language caused the whole project to fail.

I disagree, somewhat. Much modern "Christian" marriage advice in the churches these days has departed from the Bible. You hear a lot about "communication issues" in their marriage teaching, because you can mis-diagnose almost any situation as a communication issue. Most of the time, the couple doesn't need better communication, but instead 1 or both of them need to address some kind of sin issue. Take away the Bible as your foundation, and you'll see most problems as communication ones.
There are genuine communication issues, but not as many as you might think.
Said differently, there are lots of churches out there which try to teach most marriage issues go back to communication. That is their way of avoiding preaching on actual sin.
@@michaellautermilch9185 I somewhat agree with you, but only somewhat. There are lots of deep-seated and deeply destructive sin issues in marriages these days (probably always, but we didn't have Facebook and tiktok on which to publicize our personal issues and heartaches): sexual sin, sexual perversion and p*rn use, narcissism, arrogance, disrespect (goes both ways), hateful, inconsiderate, and unloving behavior (goes both ways), inability to put someone before yourself.
But I believe what Doug is speaking of here is accurate, scriptural, and highly necessary: God commands men to dwell with their wives WITH UNDERSTANDING. God commands women to honor and RESPECT their husbands. How can we love, honor and respect one another in a marriage if no one tells us what to expect? It can be easy to get off into the weeds and see exactly the differences he's talking about as a serious sin issue, or at least a major character flaw, instead of simply a difference in thinking pattern or perception! A man's ability to intently focus, or sort of one-track-mind becomes "He's self absorbed, lazy or inconsiderate and doesn't love me at all." Her ability to focus on a bunch of things at once, to see multiple sides of things, to see problems before he does turns from, "She's got my back and is helping me head off these problems," to "She's naggy and nitpicky and never shuts up."
Yes, our culture generalizes these sorts of misunderstandings as "communication issues." But I think God also generalizes them, as "understanding and respect" - respect that He made us both in different ways for different purposes and understanding that those differences are not inherently bad. I think that last couple of generations of parents, what with their massive divorce rates and heavy reliance on government schools to do the WHOLE job of preparing us for life, have utterly failed to prepare younger people for married life, with it's hurts and it's slights, along with it's virtue and joys. The old cliches and stereotypes have been tossed as outmoded and restrictive, but I believe there was some useful instruction there that no one bothered to replace. And speaking from experience, the latter, misunderstanding kind of problem can severely exacerbate the former, serious sin issue kind.
As a guy, I love these messages by Doug! Really helpful advice for both sides.

Agreed. Some stuff Doug says here I almost wish he would have pointed out or suggested in his “letters to Dawson”. In any event it’s good to understand some of the places women may struggle from or things that they need to hear. Gives a fuller picture of the entire situation.

I am a silent observant humble guy, Until something deserves my energy or if there is a need. I like to assess until I’m confident that what I’m doing is right. People who are doing something that is foreign to them or are in a foreign environment are going to be careful. Though risk is necessary a calculated one is always the better option.
People who are less like this always like to bring out the pejorative. Homeboys a preacher, his father was a preacher. I’m sure Doug would be more timid if his daddy didn’t do it before him.
Generally speaking women half-ass two things. Men whole-ass one thing. This is of course when optimal efficiency has arrived.

If you want to defeat catholic teachings tell them to compare the bible with the cathehism and choose one.
It's very simple: you can follow the words of Jesus or you can follow the words of the pope.
The Jesus of the bible is different than the Jesus of the cathehism.
You can only follow one Jesus.

According to Hebrews, the saints are our “great cloud of witnesses” in Heaven. It is GOOD to pray to saints and ask for their intercession. Praying to Mary, Peter, Joseph, John, or any of the saints is GOOD and should be done every day. Of course, even Christ spoke to Elijah and Moses. We should be like Christ.
@@mosesking2923 what was the point of that segment of scripture? What were they witnessing? The context is they were witnesses for christ. Saints of old looking unto and for christ. The long line of people who suffered for the sake of Christ before they even knew Him by name.
They are a great cloud of witnesses. I recommend reading the chapter before that and read it slowly to see exactly the point of it! May God bless your readings

When a woman’s choice is completely free of all social, legal, familial, and religious boundaries, she prefers to hold out for “the best.” -Michael Anton, “Tom Wolfe: A Woman in Full” In other words, when there is no ethical reason to marry, the choice whether or not to marry, or whom to marry, will be based purely on esthetics. Choosing based on esthetics is no more significant than choosing between this or that flavor of ice cream.
