Great Video! Especially for a beginner Tuna guy like myself. Got up enough courage to make 1 trip this season on my new to me Grady (which I bought just so I could make a run far enough for Tuna here on Long Island) . I got skunked but it was a great learning experience. Gonna spend the winter acquiring more tackle that I can use for next season. Hoping for better luck and learning from guys like you sharing your knowledge. Thank you for that!
Cool video,thanks for information👍🎣
Love your videos. Great job explaining all the details at the end. Got me pumped!!!
Great work!
Thank you for a great video. It gave me hope for next year to try and at least come up and catch squid at least.if I can get heart strong enough. Thanks again
Just left jersey for school and we got one on the 17 foot scout this year. Man I would kill to go on a boat like that with someone with you experience
Whatta chunker Nice fish🎣
Head boats are doing squid trips now…😂
Yeah who had that on their 2023 bingo card?
Lotssss of boats out there 😂
Nice video great fish. I enjoy the tackle tips very good to learn from you ! What knots are you using for swivels and the knot to hook?
Looks like a polomar
Palomar or uni knots. I usually tie a uni
Are you over "the tires" 3-4 miles out the inlet? If so, that's crazy close to shore!
North of the tires but only 8-9 miles off the beach
Hey what’s up man great video was out today couldn’t find the squid any reports for after the storm
I know they have been scattered the last week or so, haven't heard anything yet from today.
Was at seaside lump today no one was catching unfortunately do you have instagram?
@christopherderienzo Yes @cfalicon
how does the 30-80 calstar grafighter rods compare to your baby boomer. im looking to use it exactly like you do. and i dont see the baby boomer around anymore
It should be very comparable. These are pretty short, 5’6” I believe. Usually see the grafighters over 6’ but not 100% sure on that.
Floro is a hard material, with a lot of memory,so make sure you stretch out your leaders
Lovin the fishing but miss the duck videos
I’ll see what I can do 🤙
Hi do you have any recommended charter boats? Interested in a inshore tuna trip. Thanks in advance!
Jersey Coast Charters, Shorecatch, Waterman Charters are all top notch outfits. Shorecatch are usually booked up in peak season.
@@CFaliconthanks so much!
What knots were you using on your connections?
Uni or palomar knots on anything 80 lb and under, typically crimp anything 100 and up.
Can you show how you rigged up your squid for the blue fin?
I ran a 6/0 circle hook through the mantle about an inch back from the tip. So the end of the squid opposite the tentacles. You want to go through the harder cartilage area so the hook holds.
Did you launch from OGYB
Sure did
What rod was that on?
Custom calstar 30/80
you guys really should be cooling down the fish before putting it on ice put the boat in gear and let it swim following the boat makes a huge difference in quality
Triple wrecks???
Much closer than that, about 10 miles off the beach.
Ok I'm moving to NJ
Sick of hauling 2 hours for tuna
Holy crap barnegat is so affordable
Just did the math
Sell my house near plymouth ma
Make a 1m profit
Move to NJ with no mortgage
Talking to the wife rn I'm serious
Tom how are the school systems over their?
schools are good in jersey, but getting tuna in shore like this is rare. If it does happen it will usually be for only a few weeks period of time. Most of the time we are running 50 out to 19 fathoms when they are on the midshore humps, or 80-100 miles when they are in the canyon.
Yep what he said, schools are good but not a common occurance to get fish inshore like this. Better inshore bite in Massachusetts.
lol if only it was always like this…
