Growing up In CT and fishing in the new england waters my whole life, catching squid is super fun and they're awesome for bait! It's really hard to beat the nice cool weather this time of year in new England and the diversity of species and bait you can catch is second to none! Hope you enjoy your time up here, should try doin some fishing in the waters off CT, RI, NY & Maine.
It's a good tuna blitz yesterday out of monomoy point down the cape they're hitting top water jigs we're catch them on striper tackle 50 to 60 lb class good fight hook 9 got 7 to the boat and went home with our three

Yo Adam good stuff! Fyi the calamari was definitely a little over cooked and with any fried food you season immediately after it comes out of the oil. Ps if you got time when your up here. Come down to Ri! The fall run is going on (blitzing fish every were) and the tautog bite is great. I'd love to take you out.

Up here in RI, we fish for squid from May all the way through August. It's immensely popular, and there's no limit on how many you can take.

They catch squid off the Panama City beach pier during the winter. They said they’re there all year but everything eats em and they’re extremely hard to get up during warmer months because everything eats em before you get em to the top

I have seen squid caught in Florida from a pier but I don't know where. West coast. Angler Up With Brant did it if I remember correctly. I caught lots in Sarasota Bay in a cast net but only small ones, and I caught nicer ones at night in FL keys. They came to the light, attacked our shrimp and we netted them real quick. There are squid, I think people just don't target them.
