    • @spaaggetii
      @spaaggetii Год назад +5

      No. We cannot. Laughing at a dying squid is not funny. Yes, many people eat fish, etc, but their is no reason to "HAHA he is dying" There is this thing call humane kills, then there is this thing call inhumane kills. Halal is one of the inhumane kills. Laughing at something dying is also inhumane. There are options to "dispatch" or quick kill animals, fish etc. So you want to vibe over these likeable humor and personality traits? Clearly this is made more apparent from footage on services like youtube. So have a laugh and enjoy the video...

    Do not kill me but: 😁
    The giant squid (Architeuthis dux) is a species of deep-ocean dwelling squid in the family Architeuthidae. It can grow to a tremendous size, offering an example of abyssal gigantism: recent estimates put the maximum size at around 12-13 m (39-43 ft)[2][3][4][5] for females and 10 m (33 ft)[3] for males, from the posterior fins to the tip of the two long tentacles (longer than the colossal squid at an estimated 9-10 m (30-33 ft),[6] but substantially lighter, as the tentacles make up most of the length[7]). The mantle of the giant squid is about 2 m (6 ft 7 in) long (more for females, less for males), and the length of the squid excluding its tentacles (but including head and arms) rarely exceeds 5 m (16 ft).[3] Claims of specimens measuring 20 m (66 ft) or more have not been scientifically documented.[3]

    These are likely purpleback flying squid and apparently the race found in the Red Sea get particularly large upwards of 6ft or more, also Humboldt squid are not native to this region, they are named after the Humboldt currents which occur along the coast of South America

    • @stinkyfungus
      @stinkyfungus Год назад +2

      I was wondering about that.
      I was certain the Humbolt was exclusively a eastern pacific species, ranging from Terre del Fuego to California.
      Suposedly, there have been some observations of the squid in waters north of California, they appear to be spreading up the eastern pacific

    The story of men being taken on ship sinkings during WW2 is true. Navy vessels did not have life boats, as a rule they used floatation aids / rafts you can often see them on old movies from this time strapped down behind the bridge or boat deck (look a bit like pallets you would get bricks delivered on). Many men would not talk about their experience as they thought they would not be believed. One account spoken about by I think the chaps sister noticed some large ring marks with an indentation in the centre. She only got a brief look when his shirt lifted up exposing part of his back. He quickly covered up and would not talk about it. Years later he told her the truth just before he pasted away. The rings were about 50mm / 2 inches across alot bigger than the suckers you see in the video which I would estimate between 18 - 20 mm. Another account mentions a whole lot of men clinging to a raft and during the night there were screams and many large tenticles pulling men off the raft, by morning there were only two survivors. The area was the North Atlantic during the Atlantic convoys. A number of years ago I watched a TV program of strange but true type shows. A US submarine hunter ship was out on patrol. Strange noises were being heared by the SONAR operator next think the noise was so loud he had to rip the phones from his head as it was deafning. The SONAR no longer worked so the vessel headed to a naval dry dock.
    Once up on blocks in the dry dock one of the deck officers went down to inspect the SONAR head and noticed deep long scratches on the hard synthetic rubber covering the SONAR head. This rubber is extremely hard and is difficult to cut with a craft knife and is about 2 inches thick. He noticed a white thing in one of the groves. Prying the thing out with a pocket knife it looked like a long slightly rounded tallon / tooth / claw like thing more than an inch long and this was a broken off piece. There are many things still to be offically classified from the ocean deep.
