- One bite early, then nothing for awhile, then we hit the nail in the head. Yellowfin Tunas hitting poppers makes for a memorable day. I've since bought some single hooks and new poppers and Ill be ready for the next time..

Nothing wrong with the old ugly stik. For inshore use the inter coastal is pretty excellent, we run them for albies.
After going through 2 rod guides this summer i find myself only using my ugly stik tiger for those one piece stainless steel guides, i agree with the guy from the video

What world do you live in where you can just find fish like this? I'll spend hours at a creek and catch nothing half the time. You go out into the vast ocean and pull out tuna like crazy. I've still never caught a damn striper. I've tried at least a half a dozen times specifically targeting them.

we followed a humpback off the bacardi wreck like 10 miles west last weekend it was feeding and we were jigging them off the bottom 7 for 7 . NE tuna fishing baby. 70 ish off belmar nj

It should be but it seems like the worst etiquette is found offshore.

Nice video but the factory popper hooks don't set well please upgrade to lazer sharp.
Trying to catch and release you would kill the fish .
@@Diegolasca.84 Actually the lazer sharp hooks cause less damage they're like a needle but the factory hooks are ripping the flesh and pulling out. You need to file off the barb of a few plugs and use those after you get your limit if you want to keep fishing after you limit out.
I got some7/0 in-line j hooks I’ll be putting on all poppers
