1970 and I was just back from my second tour in Vietnam and newly back into civilian life. I was uncomfortable in crowds where I could not see peoples hands and was unconsciously always on the alert for something to happen. I was pretty tightly wound for awhile and did not react well to sudden loud noises. Laying on big beanbag pillows on the floor my apartment with headphones on listening to the moody blues was a great source of peace. Their music was both calming and inspirational and I am very glad they were making such incredible music that was such a benefit. I am now 76 and still enjoying their music.
The demons of the war left such deep scars on so many. One of my best friends came back and suffered for so many years. Thank you for your service. I am glad that you have found peace in your life.
PTSD . I hope and pray that you are much better today. That war took its toll on a lot of young men and boys.. I had two cousins who participated in that war. One of them ended up killing himself, and the other one is still alive. And he accepted Christ Jesus as his savior which helped him to deal with the memories of the atrocities and psychological part of being there. As well as coming home. And many lives were lost before this government actually decided to bring him home. And you guys also put up with a lot of liberal bleeding hearts who claimed so many things that weren't done by you guys and spit in your face and treated you like garbage. And that's why I and listen in the Army in 1976 and started voting Republican instead of democrat . Because they are the racist and the warmongers
I am 66 probably older than most of you. Surviving a brutal father left a lot of pain and depression. The Moody Blues music in a way saved my life. They were my salvation!!!! Didn’t turn to alcohol or drugs-turned to the Moodies. Man the times they helped me through .............
Thank God you made it through those times.....I always enjoyed the Moody blues music.....you and I are about the same age and we knew good music in our era and we can still listen to it....take care
Summer of 1970. 18 years old. My first serious girlfriend. Listened to this song, and this album, over and over and over again. My favorite MB album and my favorite group back then. And I still love them!
Iraq vet, I'm 70, wounded in 2006. These guys had a music no one ever matched--peaceful, DEEP original lyrics. Wish we had more of their caliber today. We have a violent society now, off the deep left, and wars everywhere. But they brought PEACE to our ears and hearts WAY back in the 70s. Revive this type music for this battered world...who knows what would happen?
It's criminal they didn't get into R&R Hall o' Fame until 2018 - nearly 40 years after their greatest hits. Shows what the industry is made of. God Bless The Moody Blues.
Justin has a very beautiful voice and dear Lord, what a group of highly talented musicians, each and every one. Love The Moody Blues, always have, always will.
Te tardaste muchacho!,yo tengo 69 años de edad y los oigo desde que tenía 16...y sin hablar inglés!. The Moody Blues son inmortales y esta canción es una belleza!.
I was fighting a war when this album came out. We would get smoked up and for a while forget where we were. The Moody Blues was able to take us away.........Bad times, good memories, brother in arms
I have been a fan of the Moody Blues since" Go Now"/1964. I loved this band so much. I will be 70 this summer. I never thought I would make it past 25. Thank's God for the years. This band is so very special. My heart just expands everytime I hear them. Their albums are best with a quiet place and good headphones listening to an entire album. I have seen them twice. ❤️
I haven't heard this tune in over 50 years. Justin's quiet desperation in this song is classic unique & heartfelt. I went down the list, starting with the Question. If I was in college now, this should still be on everybody's turntable. The whole album. Put "DAYS OF FUTURE PAST" on after The Weekend or something mediocre like that & see the reaction of your friends.
Their music is timeless. As fresh today as it was when it was released. What a blessing to have grown up during rock's golden age. I've been a Moody's fan since Go Now.
My 1st concert and they took a large piece of my heart that night and will always take me back on that journey through time every time I hear their magical music and Justin's beautiful voice. I'm a forever fan
I would say that the therapeutic comment is spot on and so much more. Very very rare animal these last 25 years. what has happened to the music business is shameful
I agree. I used to think about the past a lot, not moving on but after listening to the Moody Blues, I turned to the future. Wish I had done that a long time ago...
Ever since I was born in 1990. I know what they sing is real it's going to happen. Their words are very meaningful and have been carrying a message for the right time.
The Moodies were and are the greatest band of all time. I was blessed to have been turned on to them when I was a kid. Their music has been there for me during the good times of my life and the worst times of my life. Saved by the music indeed .
They just uplift your spirits, and even if you feel bad they make life suddenly worth persevering with. What a voice Justin has. Actually he has everything - a charming man who has a fantastic voice and puts most movie idols in the shade with his looks.
Classic, significant, relevant and so beautiful ! This is time when music was at it's best, 70's !! This band is classy in every way, leave's me without words when you listen to all band has to offer.
Got back from Viet Nam in 1970, started listening to the Moodies. Started dating my wife in 1974, she did not know them. We started listening together, and still do, after 46 years together.......
I was born in 1986 and so blessed my mother shared The Moody Blues with me ❤️ I have loved them since I can remember and I am now turning 34 years old. My children will grow up with Moody Blues in Their heart too. A Moody Blues song for every mood in life ♥️
It has been researched by psychologists that you are very sensitive to music during your childhood, you will always like that. So if this plays out and your children whore this regularly, they will also like this and pass it on. This is how classical music has survived, they played the scores from their youth again.
I just love this song. Starts as a beautiful ballad then turns into a foot tapper and dance around the room like a loon, singing you know its true! Perfection!
Justin, John, Mike, Graeme and Ray...amazing band, in my heart forever !! I grew up with your beautiful music !! Thank you for helping me survive adolescence !!
Oh! Thank you so much for being such an amazing fan of my music Tina🙏🤠. I hope you never stop being a fan and also stop listening to my songs🎶. Well could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan my music???
No wonder this song and this band still resonates in my soul. We bonded back in the days of future passed, when the orange sunshine went down, and we waited for the full effect. The first album played while hearing with all my senses peaked. And I have forever stayed, on the threshold, of a dream.
You've got great psychedelic rock, like Pink Floyd, and then you have great psychedelic rock that enlightens us, like the Moody Blues. This song doesn't just sound great, it teaches us something, too.
What a great song. This should have made the top ten back in the summer of 1969. It's mind boggling why it didn't. And...oh yeah, I had no idea the Moody's did a promo for the single release of this song.
Have always loved The Moody Blues and Justin Hayward's voice is just the Best. Another in a Golden age that has survived time and will continue to do so!

This song "touches my soul" every time I hear it. It's timeless...never gets "old"! In my opinion, it's "magic" is up there with the songs "Question" and "The Story In Your Eyes". This is a band that future generations will continue to discover long after we're gone. Thank you for sharing this classic!
Nos meus anos de juventude, final dos anos 60, secº XX, os Moody Blues, e em especial esta canção, tocava de tal modo a minha alma que quase me fazia chorar de emoção, pensando num amor que perdera recentemente !!

One of Justin Hayward's signature songs. There is an Orchestral Theme that relates his and the Moody Blues songs - like Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Threshhold... A great band from a time of particularly creative sources. And they are still playing!
Well, I’m now 76, and our 34 yr old son is enthralled by the MB the same way I was from “Go Now.” Such fantastic musicians and vocalists. Nothing before or since is in their realm.

@@dennylaine8735 Denny Laine had already left the Moody Blues by the time this song & album came out, eventually joining Paul McCartney's Wings. Always wondered why Denny didn't play more prominently in the vocals on Wings hits, since he clearly sang very well.
Even though I liked Denny Laine and Brian Epstein producing the band in the early day's of Go Now Justin's addition to the band after Denny's departure and no doubt Denny had talent McCartney also knew it when he asked him to join Wings , Hayward came to the band at the exact right time with the exact right talent was not chance it was however Cosmic!!Maybe out of our lack of knowing & understanding it's a realm thing, you know within the Universe.
I got into the Moody Blues so many years ago through my brother who was a fan, and I was probably the only one of my circle of friends that was and is a fan. Geez, they do not know what they missed. Classic Moody Blues is amazing, I have heard these LP's so many times and even so many years later I still cherish those sounds. Fortunately they made so much excellent stuff that there is just so much to experience. I am now 60, but their early music takes me so far back to those days of a new Moody Blues LP playing on the radiogram. Memories......
I Have Loved The Moody Blues for As Long As I Can Remember even though I was born in 1964. They are in The Top Five Most Favorite Bands in The World That I Really Love To Listen To Especially With The Newer Music that’s Out There Now and Some of that music is ok but some more than Others for Sure! They Will Never Make Great Music Like This Again ! Love the later 60’s but the Best Era for Music is the 70’s by Far ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sitting in a dorm room in Cleveland listening to this brand new album from the Moody Blues. It changed the course of my life. 51 years later just as meaningful to me as it was then.
I was 16 when I was introduced to Nights in White Satin. Since then I have taken a truly incredible, emotional, awe inspiring journey through this music. Justin always seemed to reach into my heart and put down in words all my feelings and emotions. Their music never lies to you, never mocks you, never cheats on you and never shuts you down. For the last 51 years, Justin, thank you with all my heart
I saw them in Memphis 20 years ago. They had the Memphis Orchestra on stage, and every song sounded exactly like the album versions; I couldn't believe it! One of the greatest bands of all time.
Wow! That's so sweet of you to say Ronnie🤠, I actually didn't expect to get such a beautiful comment from you. Thanks so much for being such a huge fan of my music🎵. Well I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music. Could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan of my music???

I used to listen to "This is the Moody Blues" every morning after breakfast and before muster while stationed in Diego Garcia back in the mid 80's. Only play this album from beginning to end. This is the Moody Blues is a brilliant album.
I suppose then that a little, sincere, honest, and in no way meant malevolently SHAMING can have its' positively constructive effects !, Alicia. : ) God bless those irreplaceably exquisitely beautifully profound MOODIES ! : )
first all night party, this album ruled the night.sitting on the floor, cushions, cans of beer and girlfriend cuddled up beside you. Such occasions never forgotten. Still smiling.
Favorite band in High School, class of 1972. Joined the Navy in 1973 and saw them at the Oakland Coliseum when I was in ET Advanced training. When your 19 and away from your family of ten, and your girlfriend, and the general population hates the military… well, the Moody Blues was such a comforting concert. No cellphones, no texting, no social media. Just letters and an occasional phone call. Shortly after, put out to sea on the USS Reeves DLG-24, Guided Missile Cruiser. Had a little cassette player and some Koss headphones, and some Maui Wowie…. and the Moody Blue, Three Dog Night, the Beatles, the Doors, CSN&Y, Humble Pie and Cheech & Chong. Got me through some lonely times. Now, a bit on the old side, but turned the GI Bill into an engineering degree, retired from a great career, and have a sweet wife, beautiful girls, and beautiful grand babies. Life is magic.
Excellent musicians!! I love Justin Hayward! Gorgeous man and great voice, great writer, I listened to their songs over and over again in high school/college. Loved their music and still do! A very fine band!♡
I just turned 64. I discovered the Moody Blues in the early 70's, and went backwards and forwards with each new release. Seventh Sojourn is the epitome of brilliance, but all of their songs hit me!

"Never Comes The Day" Work away today, work away tomorrow. Never comes the day for my love and me. I feel her gently sighing as the evening slips away. If only you knew what's inside of me now You wouldn't want to know me somehow, But You will love me tonight, We alone will be alright, In the end. Give just a little bit more Take a little bit less From each other tonight Admit what you're feeling And see what's in front of you, It's never out of your sight. You know it's true, We all know that it's true. Work away today, think about tomorrow Never comes the day for my love and me. Agreed.
Maybe they were too intense for the non-thinking masses. There always seemed to be an underlying melancholy to their music. I loved it.

Wow! That's so sweet of you to say Roberta🤠, I actually didn't expect to get such a beautiful comment from you. Thanks so much for being such a huge fan of my music🎵. Well I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music. Could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan of my music???
@@dennylaine8735 Denny Laine had already left the Moody Blues by the time this song & album came out, eventually joining Paul McCartney's Wings. Always wondered why Denny didn't play more prominently in the vocals on Wings hits, since he clearly sang very well.
I will always be in awe of the beautiful, perfect songs of the Moodys. ❤
Agree with you! 👍🏴
My favorite song of his is "You Can Never Go Home". The lyrics, music and guitar playing...that song has it all.
Justin Hayward, musical genius.
Agree
AND HEART THROB!!! I was so convinced that if I could just meet him....... ahhhh....the good old days. AND NOW, I want to meet him even more!
@Voracious Reader I may not agree with the genius part, but an under rated guitarist, yes.
Such a hottie
How did this beautiful song never reach the top 40 charts? Amazing to me.
1968 sent to Vietnam,
spent many evenings with this music in my ears, it produced such peace .
Thanks for your service and sacrifice, Sir.
Absolutely loved this song through the 70's.. Love it more today!
Thank you lads, for amazing music !!!!
For the last 51 years, Justin, thank you with all my heart
caz roberts
beautiful and most excellent comment and your words point that out thank you
@@howardacquistapace5084 thank you Howard x
Wow,no matter how stressed I get it melts away when i hear the Moodys.
Absolutely
and a doobie
Therapeutic to my ears as well. Almost dangerous as I forget about my actual life and I drift into an alternate reality when the MB are playing.
Same here, and I was raised on them.
Ditto Mike Porto
I saw them in Memphis 20 years ago. They had the Memphis Orchestra on stage, and every song sounded exactly like the album versions; I couldn't believe it! One of the greatest bands of all time.
Wow! That's so sweet of you to say Ronnie🤠, I actually didn't expect to get such a beautiful comment from you. Thanks so much for being such a huge fan of my music🎵. Well I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music. Could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan of my music???

The Moody Blues were one of the very best bands in those late 60's, early 70's, this song is beautiful as anything that Justin does.
I am 68 and saw the Moodys with San Diego Symphony at San Diego State bow, in their la/er years! It was Awesome. Moody Blues is for everyone!!
Such a beautiful song. I still remember the lyrics even though I haven't listened to this in such a long time... Uplifting.
I love Never comes the day very much. It's one of my favorietes. I keep playing it. And of course Go now.
Simply the greatest band ever. Their albums represent my life story. I love them all.

I've been listening to Moody Blues since I was 16 ,still love this band.
Likewise... and for me that is 50 plus years ago....
I haven't listened SINCE I was 16-- listened to these songs while in love for the first time. She dumped me and it hurts still.
Me too. Turned 16 in 1967. The Moody's have been with me ever since.
So do I...
Wow...a late bloomer. Never too late, I guess
Absolutely my favorite all time group. I’m 69 and oh the beautiful memories this song brings back ❤
I used to listen to "This is the Moody Blues" every morning after breakfast and before muster while stationed in Diego Garcia back in the mid 80's. Only play this album from beginning to end. This is the Moody Blues is a brilliant album.
Greatest hits of greatness
The Moodies were the first concert I ever saw in my teens (70s). They got me through a lot as well. I still listen to them all the time.
Glad I don't hang out with the 8 people who gave this a thumbs down!
at 22 dislikes now......we need to search them out and send them to re-education camps!
someone took back their dislike LOL
People are morons....nothing you can do about it.
I am with you!
I suppose then that a little, sincere, honest, and in no way meant malevolently SHAMING can have its' positively constructive effects !, Alicia. : ) God bless those irreplaceably exquisitely beautifully profound MOODIES ! : )
One of my favourite singer song writers is Justin Heyward and a true gentleman of rock.
My first boyfriend introduced me to this 31 years ago. We were best friends till the day he passed 9/27/17 I love you Jim
NM 1170 I am so sorry for your loss.
WILLIAM BABYAK Thank you
NM 1170 lucky man that Jim

He loves you too and thinking about you too
They are that rare band that deliver in all three phases...music, lyrics and vocals. One of my absolute favorites.
One of my greatest pleasures is knowing that I grew up with their music. They were remarkable.
This never gets old. One of the first songs I listened to with the love of my life. Then life happened. No regrets
In 1969 On the Threshold of a Dream opened my eyes and mind to wonder. I am still in that Dream.
Such a very, very fine band. So many great songs and truly classic albums. The Amazing Moody Blues
beautiful man, beautiful voice and beautiful and song, sage Justin
the incomparable Moody Blues...they are so so good
Best band, and only band to have their albumn launched into space!
Love their music. Always have and always will.
first all night party, this album ruled the night.sitting on the floor, cushions, cans of beer and girlfriend cuddled up beside you. Such occasions never forgotten. Still smiling.
I love the moody blues one of the greatest bands ever 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I was born in 67. Grew up listening to the Moodies with my dad. Can’t remember a time without their music in my life. So glad he was into them.
THEY ARE HAPPY ALSO...💖
I love Justin Haywords voice and his face and what a beautiful passionite singing man and his songs are magical
Absolutely fantastic, Justin’s voice is beautiful and so is the song💕💕
Oh! Thank you so much for being such an amazing fan of my music Gill🙏🤠. I hope you never stop being a fan and also stop listening to my songs🎶. Well could you kindly tell me how long you've been a fan my music???

They have shaped my life more than anything else. Really. My crazy mystical life. It couldn't have happened without the Moody Blues. I'm really am on that journey.
Corina Amato well you can fly...high as a kite if you want to
Faster than light if you want to

Yes me too my friend ! 🙂
I think they helped a LOT of seekers on their mystical journeys!! definitely...
No question. I listen to them now and it takes me right back to the peaceful time decades ago.

"Never Comes The Day"
Work away today, work away tomorrow.
Never comes the day for my love and me.
I feel her gently sighing as the evening slips away.
If only you knew what's inside of me now
You wouldn't want to know me somehow,
But
You will love me tonight,
We alone will be alright,
In the end.
Give just a little bit more
Take a little bit less
From each other tonight
Admit what you're feeling
And see what's in front of you,
It's never out of your sight.
You know it's true,
We all know that it's true.
Work away today, think about tomorrow
Never comes the day for my love and me.
I feel her gently sighing as the evening slips away.
If only you knew what's inside of me now
You wouldn't want to know me somehow,
But
You will love me tonight,
We alone will be alright,
In the end.
Give just a little bit more
Take a little bit less
From each other tonight
Admit what you're feeling
And see what's in front of you,
It's never out of your sight.
You know it's true,
We all know that it's true.

I haven't listened to this song in far far too many years, but I know every word by heart. The Moody songs went past the brain and engraved themselves on our souls. But thank you for posting the lyrics Laurylie.
Thanks for typing out one of the most touching songs ive heard yet so simple i cant get enough of this masterpiece❤
Thank you.
