Hello everyone - we were so gratified by the response of those who viewed and enjoyed Justin's wonderful performance that we uploaded a second Justin Hayward concert from October 2021, including 4 videos from Mike Dawes solo as the warmup act. . Here is the link for Forever Autumn from that concert. ruclips.net/video/wyzjDU2tios/видео.html
Thank you
Thank you sooo much!! ❤
@@RG-hf4et how are you doing, are you male or female ??
@@JustinHayward-su1ww Good morning Justin -- congratulations to you on your beautiful voice, continued success and wonderful band!!! We have footage from four different concert venues of your sets! Thank you!!
@@JustinHayward-su1ww We are at work - would you like us to send the links for the videos to your instagram address? If so, we can do that tonight or over the holiday (at least in the US) weekend. It would be our pleasure...
I have a lump in my throat just hearing the onset of the song. At his young age of 76 his voice is absolutely beautiful and his guitar playing is still immaculate
He probably hasn't ruined his voice with various inappropriate chemicals. He also sounds like a low-stress guy, and that probably helps
Wow xx
Wow! His voice hasn’t changed a bit! So awesome!
We were able to record a different Justin Hayward performance of Forever Autumn on his birthday; if you are interested in seeing (and comparing) here is the link. ruclips.net/video/wyzjDU2tios/видео.html
Justin MB spiritual voice
Doesn’t everyone miss the artwork on the album sleeves of the mid sixties and seventies of so many of the bands of that era?❤
Its so true about the artwork on albums, i have ( In search of the lost chord ) framed in my living room and it’s always a talking point.
Indeed. None of the AI generated cr@p. Just sheer artistry.
Yes
Yes as said ,to have and to hold
Yes. TOTALLY
How on earth has this guy kept his voice in check at his age? Simply remarkable. 👏
He's still got the pipes for sure
He's not playing night after night without breaks for 3 hours like McCartney and in an acoustic setting. Great vocals and talent.
He's kept his voice by singing....
I guess he keeps off alcohol, smoking and drugs
I believe that's true@@harryvanrijn6366
Seeing this live is amazing. I thought it was too difficult to perform. Justin’s voice is simply out of this world. The flute work is just crazy and the music is sensational. How he does this song live is mind boggling. Just sensational.
Ageless..haunting
He has a pure sublime voice...
Justin never trashed his voice schreeching rock songs. Not his style. What a lovely song and man. Thanks Justin
That flute absolutely makes this song.
The flute is what resonates
@@paulineodonnell3163absolutely beautiful music.i love this song immensely, thank you all for this song ❤
Yes it does but that voice is amazing
I do!
Yes and this flautist did an amazing job. Personally I think the flute is purposefully the dominant instrument as it represents Carrie's spirit, the woman he is lamenting. Forever Autumn works fine as a stand alone song. It is just more impactful not to mention integral as part of Jeff Wayne's telling of War of the Worlds.
This song always brings tears to my eyes and l’m 63 and approaching the autumn of my life. Seems such a long time ago when I first heard this beautiful song.
Ditto
Ditto. Experiencing this gift randomly on a difficult Thursday evening, was very moving. Bless all those who have given so much to us all through their talent in music!
Me 63 still brings tears to my eyes. Love video of war of the worlds.
Karmen’s Flute part is simply amazing as it effortlessly meanders between Justin’s Voice, and the 2 Guitars. Absolutely Beautiful!!! ❤❤❤
Good stuff. For those not familiar, Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds is an outstanding story album. Richard Burtons narration is superb!
Tom Cruise et al, a travesty
I have the entire performance on reel to reel from the early 80's and when played with full quadraphonic speakers it's spectacular.
We experienced it while in London. I knew everything was going to be okay once I heard Justin’s voice
I have the original on vinyl with superb artwork and al the lyrics 😍
@@Britabroad877 And the book?
This takes me back to the 70s listening to that incredible album and looking at the amazing sleeve art work.
I remember when I was babysitting and the kids had gone to bed.
The man of the house said I could listen to his stereo through headphones.
I found War of the Worlds in his collection. Scared the life out of me when the cylinder unscrewed.
Thought there was something wrong with the kettle! Brilliant album. Stunning artwork. Justin's singing is brilliant.
My wife died two years ago, this song is the one that breaks me every time I hear it. This live performance is just as powerful as the album version.
This reminds me of my dear dad, who died in 1987 aged 50, I am now 55, and everytime I hear this I just want to curl up and cry, sometimes I do, and am not ashamed to admit it, I just miss his wisdom and love .
My wifes favourite artist and favourite song: she always maintained that this was a love ballad inside the context of the War of the Worlds and outside. She died 2 1/2 years ago ... I am prone to believe her.
Do they still write songs like this anymore? Serious question.
God bless her 🙏
I lost a daughter of 42 a few yrs ago Yr half after a son of 32 I buried them together never to be apart with the words on the headstone my life will be forever autumn cause your not here
A weeper. Gorgeous. Simply lovely.
As Justin said he usually didn't record other people's material, but in this case, to his surprise, it worked out wonderfully. The lyrics are sad and reflective. It's Justin's voice that fuels the emotions in this beautiful ballad. When I first heard this tearjerker of a tune in 1978, I thought it was an original by the Moody Blues because it was their style. It peaked at #5 in the UK. This song chokes me up whenever I hear it. I think of loved ones who are no longer here. Ty, JH.
Mom, dad and youngest brother are gone. I sure miss them. It means my clock is ticking as well.
My wife were only dating when the war of the worlds came out. Forever Autumn became our song, we even called our son Justin.
We also named our son Justin. He's 39 now!
My good friend died in 2021 and this was played at his funeral he almost made 70 but his life was cut short . But we all still miss him . We have all shed a tear or two and still do at times.. RIP Chris .
When I was 19, I had a major crush on Justin Hayward. I got to see the Moody Blues 3 times in the 70s. I'm 70 now and still love them.
I listened to the moody blues whilst tripping over guy ropes trying to find me tent at the Hendrix, Isle of Wight festival... cheers ... this is a cracker by Justin though ...
Saw them once at The Royal Albert just after I was widowed in 1979. They commenced with their "Forever Autumn" track - part of which is carved onto my late wife's headstone.
@@christhompson2126 very touching and thanks for sharing ... take care .. cheers
Me too, big fan of the Moody Blues...
Justin was so freaking beautiful in his early years! Also. I consider “Nights in White Satan” to be the most beautiful song ever written.
You mean Satin, not Satan
@@dannyphillips4768 Yes, if course
Knights in white satin, never reaching the end.
Letters I've written, never meaning to send.
Both lines refer to a letter of unrequited love, with the Knight (the letter) not completing it's journey. Probably one of the finest verses ever put to a song with the little extra ambiguity of using the homonym of "Nights" rather than Knights,
This one,for me,though of course Knights is so melodic, and the message is melancholy, this one hits my heart.
😥😥😥absolutely beautiful...how can anybody forget these songs...
This is why God created music
How is life not having purpose if you hear this...
Bravo !!!!
People like these gives hope as music unites
Listening here on a Sunday 31 Dec 2023 in South Africa...
God bless you all people🙏🙌
And his daughter is ….
Be well
Justin's voice is timeless and is PERFECT for Jeff's outstanding musical War of The Worlds. I have seen the show and MET Jeff in person - this song ALWAYS makes my spine tingle. I met my first girlfriend smooching to 'Knights in White Satin'. I would love to see Justin play live! I have played WOTW so much I have lost count of the times. I also happened to LIVE near to Horsell Common................eerie...............was that a whoosh and an explosion? OOOH - LAAAAAAHHHH
What a SUPERB little band he has now AMAZING FLAUTIST!!
I wish he & John were still performing together!!!
67 now I wish I could listen without tears falling from my eyes. Some of you will understand.
@stanf7862 I do.
right with you mate at 72
❤️
withyou....
I'm 67 also, tears and understanding x
I saw Jeff Wayne's live version of War of the world's several years ago in Melbourne and Justin sang this as it was meant then, and still bloody great in 2023. I even still have the album from the late 70's, barely any change after 40+years. Forever awesome Justin, great job mate👍👍
The words to this song is just beautiful and of course Justin's voice..
Thank you so much
One of the many many Moody Blues beautiful songs. Well done Justin. You sound exactly the same as when you first recorded this masterpiece.
It isn't a moody blues song!
What a marvelous talent … ❤love him & the Moody Blues forever ❤
I have been a Moody Blues fan since I maybe 13 years old! I am 71 now. Justin has always been my favorite. I was lucky enough to see them in Medford Oregon, back in the early nineties, great show! I will never forget it. Thank you Justin ! Thank you Moody Blues ! ❤👍👏😁
Medford, Oregon in the early 90s. Hope you liked the show. I was doing the audio mix back then - '86 to '97.
@@GaryKudrna It was the best show I have ever seen and heard! I was blown away, kudos to you because they sounded so good! 👏👍❤️🙂
Song was never recorded by the moody blues band
Stunning,. all the way through,.... and ''Through Autumns' golden gown we used to kick our way''.... a brilliant line.
Thursday 12september 2024 still amazing
Justin’s voice is as soulful as ever! I’ve loved his voice and spectacular guitar playing since I was in my 20s which was a very long time ago. Thanks for the memories. ❤
I'm now 74 have loved Justin's songs from day one I had the vile experience of putting my two adult children to rest they are resting together brother and sister I had on the double headstone my life will be forever autumn cause your not here x
Never heard this before, but I love it. Holy crap he still sings great.
HE TELLS THIS STORY OFTEN. HE IS ONE OF THE FEW WHO DOES TELL STORIES
I remember back in the eighties, trying to chase this song down in America and they played it rarely. Loved it the first time I heard it in the eighties.
Absolutely timeless and beautiful. One of the greatest songs ever.
Such a beautiful haunting melody.
Played during my sisters funeral, when they showed photographs of her from a baby to her death. So beautiful, so sad.
Justin's little band is perfect for him. They are perfect together. I love this song, but it is so sad. He sounds great. He never ages and he has a wonderful voice. Thank you for listing this. I was ill and could not go to his gig when he visited my town. I have never missed a show since he started touring with this band. Dang!
Thank you so much for love and support.
He's a legend, along with the rest of the band they were musical pioneers when Stereo was taking a hold? So wonderful to hear his voice has stood the test of time as well ♥
Like a fine wine this man's voice ages to perfection!!!!!!!
The night before I left for Navy boot camp, in 1984, my best friends took me to a Moody Blues concert at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park in Los Angeles. What a concert! I have always loved them and his voice!
great song great musicians and that looks like Mike Dawes on guitar what a line up 👌
Beautiful, an ageless voice. What a talent. Amazing man.
A wonderful song that always reminds me of my wife. We played it at her funeral in 2011. My beloved was only 54, taken far too early.
My wife was 50, pasted in the fall 2014, didn’t stop playing this song for a very long time, hope your rebuilding🤞
@@michaelfrancolini255 Yes I am thankyou, my children keep me busy. I hope you're moving forward.
Great voice great bloke...such a wholesome heart with nothing but good to say about everything and everyone. Gives me a perfect New Year feeling. Thank you Justin. Thank you.
June 28, 2024: RIP Randy Wheeler, who played saxophone in this performance. May he rest in music.
Absolutely brilliant. That flautist really brings magic to the song. How has he kept his voice so powerful
What a great voice!
I remember seeing the War of the Worlds LP album when it first came out. I never heard any of the songs but I was fascinated by the concept of a musical version. I had the recording of HG wells radio broadcast and thought the musical version would be cool. I still enjoy the album to this day.
Wonderful. This is a marvellous song on a marvellous album. The great Richard Burton narrates.
I always loved that song, reminds me of a love many years ago. I still miss her.
Justin, thank you, thank you for bringing wonderful music into this world for almost 6 decades
now. One of the most iconic voices in the history of pop music.
The first day of Autumn and this pop's up on RUclips I saw Justin perform this live Sept last year in the UK and he was awesome then as he is now singing this song with his solo band receiving standing ovations and long applauses...he's awesome. 🍁🍂🍁🍂👏👏👏👏👏
I thought that was funny, too.. turning up in my recommends like that today...first thing in the morning
@@SuperBartles yep, it was a welcome song to start the autumn. 🍁

One of the most beautiful songs ever written, in my opinion
Yes, and I'd add Kansas, "Dust in the Wind"
That voice is still like a comfortable arm chair! Still got it Justin.👍
Perfect…
One of the few artists whose vocals are still as fresh and vibrant as their decades' old recordings.
How have I never heard this beautiful song before?
It never caught on in the US. Be sure to hear the studio version & the live version in the full cast stage show.
One of the songs of my childhood. Beautiful version.
What a voice. Timeless classic
Thank you so much 😊
I literally feel like crying whenever I hear this. Especially when I hear him mention the Breeze. The surname of my much missed late ex wife.
Beautiful song. Wonderful voice.

God love it, he nailed it. Still that amazing voice.
MY KIDS AND I RECENTLY SAW " JUSTIN HAYWARD " AT THE " VINE ROOM " IN PA ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND HE WAS AWESOME, 2 HOUR CONCERT, HIS VOICE IS STILL EVER SO CAPTIVATING AS IS HIS ENTIRE PERSONA !!!! WE ALL ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY AND THIS WOULD MAKE IT THE 3RD TIME I HAVE SEEN HIM, I DID'NT WANT THE NIGHT TO END !!!! GOD BLESSED JUSTIN WITH A BEAUTIFUL SOULFUL VOICE I CERTAINLY HOPE HE KNOWS WHO TO ALWAYS THANK & HONOR FOR HIS MANY BLESSINGS FOR WE DO NOT OPERATE INDEPENDENTLY FROM OUR CREATOR " GOD " ❤
Im Justin from NC USA, I am honored I was named after Justin Hayward by my father
We named our son Justin in 1984 after JH and we're also from NC. Small world.
When I was growing up n the sixties, the name Justin was almost unheard of here, and my schoolmates were perplexed and amused by it; I never met anyone who shared the same name until I was 19 or 20. So it was a big lift for me when Justin Hayward not only appeared on the scene as the lead singer of a successful band, but also happened to be a cool dude with a fantastic voice! Fast forward to today and while it’s still distinctive, there are a lot more of us around; but the majority are considerably younger than me because the name suddenly became fashionable when I was already in my twenties! I wouldn’t change it for anything.
That’s half my day gone now I’m going to have to listen to War of the Worlds on my old CD player 👍
Excellent version of a brilliant song.
Absolutely beautiful! Loved the story leading to the song.
Fantastic - this song still sends shivers down my spine, as did the whole album on hearing it as a 9yr old in 1978, and sometimes I see huge green bulbous eyes peering through my window at night.
Seventh sojurn
Moody blues
Thank you Justin always loved this 😢❤
wonderful. Hard to believe for 76 years of age
Beautiful, magical flute playing 😮👍🇬🇧🌈
I was a DJ at an FM AOR station when this album came out. Had to pester the Music Director for days to add this tune. He finally relented and thanked me.
Brilliant, forever autumn still gives me shivers when i hear it. War of the worlds was the album that opened me up to music. Thank you Mr Patterson for playing it for us at school all those years ago.
What a beautiful song and I loved hearing the story behind it. Have loved Justin and the Moody's since the '60's and never let them go. I was lucky enough to see them in concert so many times that I lost count.
Justin you still have a beautiful voice even after all these years. I'm 69 yrs old and I still have a signed Moody Blues Poster on my wall of their 25th Anniversary tour. It keeps me young and reminds me I am so lucky to have grown up in the best music era ever. ❤🎶🎵🎸 Keep it going Justin we love you.
Performed in my home town in Hampshire 🎉 he was fantastic 💚
Wonderful voice that 8:15 hasn't changed since the first time I heard him after he joined the Moodies. I had his picture on my bedroom wall and love him still.
I saw Justin in Hastings. And it was a dream come true. I've loved him since I was a teenager and it was like stepping back in time. He was amazing.
Goosebumps, there are not enough superlatives for this example of genius performed in music, ranks high in my memory along with Melanie, the Strawbs and others. Thank you all for such haunting music.
Loved this song from the 1st time it aired on radio. Takes me on a mystical journey where all the dead comes alive
Brilliant rendition by Justin and an awesome band.
It works in isolation, but it works so much better in the album/show setting, as it bookends “Thunderchild” - always brings a tear to my eye at the self-sacrifice of that brave little ship. Although it forms part of the original novel, it has echoes of the much later episode of HMS Jervis Bay and Convoy HX84.
That flute! And live too! Sublime.
This is one of my favourite songs of all time. When I heard it as a child it affected me profoundly and I never forgot it. So hauntingly beautiful.
I still have my original vinyl copy, timeless.
Takes ya back ! Great Tune by a consumate singer, songwriter and performer - Justin Hayward ! Bloody good.
It never ages....as beautiful as ever. Wonderful playing by Mike Dawes and the whole band.
One of my favorite Moody Blues pieces. Wish I could've been there to hear, no, experience it live.
It is a Blue Jays song. Justin Hayward and John Lodge not a moody blues tune!!!
@@bobbyflay7217correct !
@@bobbyflay7217It was originally done by Vigrass& Osbourne around 1971. It’snot the Blue Jays , just Justin!
It’s from Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds.
This song has got nothing to do with the Moody Blues.
this song meant so much to me, as it came out just after my closest aunt died four days before my 18th birthday...this song was so fitting of her and how I felt. I saw the Moody Blues in concert and kept screaming out, Forever Autumn. I wondered if Justin heard me, if he thought, who is that nut. (: They didn't sing it, it wasn't part of their repertoire. Such a movingl song and mood~
True, thank you 😊
Fantastic version. Sounds sooo good! Amazing! Best wishes from Germany 🤗 🍁🍂👍
What a wonderful voice for me at 68 brings back memories from long gone past.
Maybe even ... days of future passed ... cheers
My god, ITS so beautiful sad 😢
Magic - I saw the Moody Blues on Top of The Pops in 1969 0r so and Justin looked very nervous and drugged out. I never thought he would still be going strong in 2023 when so many members have fallen by the wayside.
I'm sorry that you're trying to make Justin and the Moody Blues sound so tragic.
Two of the members died in their senior years. Mike Pinder left early on to pursue his own music career and stop touring.
I, too, have seen Justin, not energetically performing with the band.
He had actually been in the hospital that afternoon because he was very ill.
STILL, HE PERFORMED!
Before you put your opinion here, you shouldn't make snap judgments about someone that you don't know...
Lols...he probably was back then. He joked about drugs and stuff on a night like this and he commented "I know I was there. I saw pictures. So funny.
Still standing and sounds fabulous as ever
@@jazzander5314 Good grief, what an overreaction to a harmless comment. He just said that Justin looked nervous and drugged out, and in 1969 the latter was quite possibly true as Justin did drugs along with most other musicians of that era.
That's not trying to make him or the band sound tragic, it's an accurate comment on what was happening on the music scene at that time. Hayward has actually admitted to taking acid and that it was part of his life for a while.
I think maybe you should calm down and stop reading things in comments that just are not there.
What a fantastic live performance! Such a beautiful performance from all musicians 👏
Justin's voice hasn't changed at all, he was so sweet back then... Loved him ❤ xx
Aww thank you 😊
Had the bucket list pleasure to have seen Justin , Chris Thompson and Jason donovan and others, perform with full orchestra and Jeff Wayne conducting his “Jeff Wayne’s: War of The Worlds” concert. Complete with Martian fighting machine fire flames, lasers!
You’ve never lived till you’ve heard UUUUUUUULLLLLLLAAAAAAA!!!
How lovely. Real musicians at the top of their game. Perfect.
No words can make this any better. Followed me thro my life & my kids love it. Thank you Justin.
Like fine wine, it only improves over time 🙂
Suggest “New Horizons” @ Question of Balance) = similar haunting melody & lyrics. My first album purchase in 1970. I wore the grooves out of that record!
Love this song sooo much. Still have the double Vinyl of WoW...this and Warchild were my favourites with Richard Burtons voice...OMG
Seen them twice, Bristol and Oxford, amazing both times.
I have seen the Moodies every u.k. performance in the U K in Brighton and London since 1969. How lucky I was .I'm now 76. Loved Nights in White Satin forever. Gordon Smith
I saw them in Orlando this spring. A terrific show of all the Moody Blues classics.
How great is this guy
Heart breaking but beautiful. My 20's.
Unreal performance. Never expected that they could do this so much justice with a 4 piece ensemble. Bravo!
