I’ve listened to this more times than I can remember and it’s amazing to my ears. I’m almost 80 now and the talent brought together for this extravaganza was extraordinary to say the least. Sinead definitely was a unique talent. This song in particular is so good to listen to.👍👍🇨🇦
I was at this concert. I remember most of it.....The best ever. 300,000 ecstatic humans in PotsdamerPlatz just after the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Sinead was spine-tingling.
I'm glad she got that opportunity to be among the legends because she was one of them always. I've never seen this before,and it's so bittersweet to see those times once again,so very touching. To see them at their prime,alive,giving us such gifts of their presence in music. God's above and below,how I miss those golden times I was so privileged to live.

Awesome version. This concert was celebrating the wall coming down in Berlin and the defeat of communism and the soviets. It was a huge event. Families separated by that wall for decades were re-united, etc.

The video you’re watching is from the dress rehearsals. As you say there was recording/audio issues on the concert footage so they had to use the rehearsal footage in the live dvd.
The night of the show a lot of problems happened. I remember clearly that Danko and Helm made a mistake (one said "clean" and the other "warm" in the same moment) and Waters shook his head smiling bitterly. This video DVD (and the old VHS too) is edited with the performance of the rehearsals. By the way I still envy you for being there in that incredible night. Waters and the O'Connor didn't get along at all. A lot of harsh words between them flew during the years.
In what corner where you standing? Where I was (and around the 500.000 with me) was load as hell! I can agree that problems with the sound was on/off, but hey.....the wall was gone!
Sinead’s voice is the most expressive instrument I’ve heard. And the Band the soul of music; can’t help thinking she and the great Garth had a moment as he put the finishing touches on the piece.

This version is just incredibly tight. The drums/music is mixed so well just insanely solid, the high hat and everything is just razor sharp in its tightness. Every musician is equally amazing. Garth on accordion, danko and helm nailing the harmonies. But Sinead was just flawless. Stunning

Fortunately, we have these recordings of the concert. I was at the concert myself, both at the rehearsals and at the actual concert. It was just shitty weather, rain, mud and technical equipment that failed. Only the compilation of all the material allows us to enjoy this concert today.
O Conner. Sad. I wish she could have gotten her life on track. Confused, beautiful, talented. As hard as it was to watch her self destruct, I can't help feel sorry for her.
He may well outlive me, but Im gonna be actually sad if/when Roger goes. Don't agree with everything, but the guy is a living legend and has provided a soundtrack for people's lives.

She's my favorite musician of all time. Voice as powerful as anyone I've listened to in my lifetime. Her best quality however , she gave zero f*cks, fewer than zero if she could. She's the one person who used her platform purely for the good of others. The only one. I miss her. I'll always miss her. I'm welling up writing this.

He may well outlive me, but Im gonna be actually sad if/when Roger goes. Don't agree with everything, but the guy is a living legend and has provided a soundtrack for people's lives.

She's my favorite musician of all time. Voice as powerful as anyone I've listened to in my lifetime. Her best quality however , she gave zero f*cks, fewer than zero if she could. She's the one person who used her platform purely for the good of others. The only one. I miss her. I'll always miss her. I'm welling up writing this.

Um, excuse me? Just listen to the shirt guitar solos in this version. Nowhere as amazing as Gilmour. And the Floyd masterpiece from this album, Comfortably Numb, is from a melody written by Gilmour. Roger’s lyrics are great, but he’s not nearly the musician that Gilmour is.
