The Moody Blues are amazing. I’m 41 and my mother passed away in 2010 due to being hit by a car while crossing the street. She was my everything. As well as my father. We built an amazing relationship after my mother passed away. He died of a heart attack and stroke this June. The moody blues were a huge part of my childhood. I miss my parents tremendously and I cry listening to the moody blues but it brings me back to all our road trips and our ski trips at Stratton Mountain in Vermont. The music brings me back to that amazing time in my life as a child. I miss you Mom and Dad. You both were the most amazing parents and my best friends!! I love and miss you so much that it’s hard to breathe.

I am so happy that we became close a few years prior to her passing. you are fortunate to have been close to your parents. I turn 70 this year the same age as my mom was. I'd like to see her again although I hope she won't mind if it's not to soon.

For reals? They're in? Awright! YES, took way too long. I think they and Pink Floyd were/are the best with concept/theme albums; more than just songs that are together on the same album.
And while we are truly just friends, I met a lady via my RUclips comments to a Moody Blues Song to which she replied. I had tried to find that first conversation we had, but I'm not sure if I found "the one", or her comments either. But I can't shake the thought she had challenged me re: what I'd said--no doubt I was popping off about something. She was so nice--we even spoke on the phone a handful of times--but she's been quiet lately. Not me she said. So... then???? And wouldn't you know it, I had reconnected with my (then) fiancee from some 40 years ago, just 3 months prior. I would've made a try for her, but loyalty, & that she was single, won out.

I feel so fortunate to have grown up in this era. The music of the 60s and the 70s were something new , Something Beautiful, and something to behold. And this music has outlasted music from any other time. Let's face it in the 1960s we were not listening to turn of the century 1900 music but we are still listening to this music today.

And the Music.......there will Never be another, it still pumps us with so much perfect music in all genre.......We are all so blessed to be a part of this generation that was bigger than Mother Earth herself!

During the era when The Moody Blues were making music, the profound impact of the group might not have been fully recognized. The musical landscape was brimming with extraordinary compositions, and the sheer abundance of remarkable tunes led us to sometimes overlook the exceptional contributions of bands like The Moody Blues. It was an era when the richness of musical creativity allowed us to take for granted the wealth of extraordinary sounds that were shaping the cultural tapestry of the time.

I don't get it either because these guys were pioneers -- the fathers of prog rock. The first to fuse rock music with symphony orchestra; the first to overlap tracks on their albums using fade-out and fade-in; their extensive use of the mellotron and flute was not being replicated at all until at least a year after they finished _Days of Future Passed;_ the first to fuse poetry with rock music. AND while they weren't especially strong on lyrics, the lyrics were very introspective and made you think while you listened. I don't think we'll see talent like that again in _our_ lifetimes.

I saw a Moody Blues concert in the Oakland Coliseum in 1973. I was tripping on LSD, and I still remember it as one of the most intense experiences of my life.

The Moody Blues music has a timeless quality, but if you have memories about the group and/or their music, you grew up in the 1970s.

@@RonaldCharlesEpstein Right on! I grew up in the 1970s. Graduated from high school in 1973 and college in 1978. The 1970s, what transpired, and the people I met, are now part of me until the day I die. And beyond.

John Golofit The times long gone this song evokes memories of for me are of high school circa 1982 when I bought an original pressing of Days Of Future Past. Middle School through high school was the best days of my life ever and hearing this makes it Forever Afternoon (Tuesday) in those days for me😀

I grew up with this kind of music, and 60 years later it's still here. It was the best of times, it was some worst of times. But we made it through and survived it all; and no matter how hard it has been we will continue our journey with this music into the hereafter (whatever it may be).

I was in the military in Western Germany in 1968. I bought the album Days of Future Passed in the NAAFI shop just intrigued by the artwork on the cover. I played the album and was straight away beloved of the music and have bought every album by the Moody Blues from that day. The girl I was courting also loved the music and later became my wife. We still love the music and it brings back very fond memories for us. One of my children also loves this music, he was in the womb and must have heard this many times during my wife's pregnancy. We still love the music very much to this day. Just lovely music forever.
