I remember talking to my great gran about the Titanic sinking . She'd have been about 30 when it happened. She remembered Buffalo Bill touring, first seeing a car, the Wright Brothers flight being reported, etc. She died in '81. Crazy.
Love Mark Gatiss…. I saw him waiting outside our local co-op with his dog… a couple of summers ago….. I was absolutely star struck .. by the time I’d plucked up the courage to speak to him, he’d gone on his way. I Just wanted to tell him how much his work has meant to me over the years… regret it every time I walk past the same spot !
Thanks Rob and brilliant team. Mr. Gatiss has been a part of some of the most memorable television experiences of the last 20 or so years and very much appreciated. Cheers to all!
Wow.... the homeless man asking Tom Baker to "Get us out of here Doctor"" made me burst into tears. Twice. (I ran it back to make sure I'd heard it properly.)
I've met them all on a few occasions and they've always been very pleasant and polite. It's so cool that she got to meet them at the very start of it all!
09:10 In 2016 the Dog Royals granted me the title of Lord Bellyrub in recognition of a lifetime of service to the itchy. 🙂 It was my great honor to accept.
Great interview. I never get tired of listing to Mark and I’m so glad he continues to put out a new Ghost Story for Christmas every year. Gives me something to look forward to!
Lovely interview! Love his words about Barry Cryer, who I once made a sausage sandwich for in the Plough in Bloomsbury. Mark was a regular customer at the other end of the bar! We had a bit of a Darlo posse! Around that time two of us went to see his play in the back of a Chelsea pub. Tiny room. The full size dalek he had took up half of the stage!
I love Mark Gatiss and this was lovely. I've got to say though, at first I thought he was about to do the magic trick where you put a cigarette in your ear and it comes out of your nose
I remember 2007 in Perth West Australia Rob Bryden- that 'in the car divorce monologue' and I I marvelled at such slow amazing humour ... I loved it. 2008 I remember thinking League of Gentlemen shocked my brain, what a disorientation. Both 100 percent adorables. Thankyou
Mark Gattis and Rob Brydon together what a brilliant interview thank you. now let’s press onto the most important issue in hand and that is the huge microphone. Yes it’s me again of the huge microphone in podcast society HMPS, Is there any chance that we can identify the bright spark who originally said look let’s video these podcasts as if it was in a radio studio situation and therefore we’ve got to have a huge microphone in front of everybody, in fact some people of a certain stature, Rob, if they position themselves properly but hardly be seen. Anyway it was wonderful to see the microphone again and listen to Mark Gatiss and Rob Brydon, when you can see him. Yet another fascinating conversation.
On Barry Cryer, being energised by keeping up with young, up and coming comedians. He said "I like talking about the past. I don't want to live in it".
I love basically everything Mark does. I loved The Vesuvius Club. In fact I was so taken by it, I'm writing something different but with the same atmosphere, set at the same time. And obviously about 5% as good!
Congratulations to whomever inserts the ads into these things as they managed to completely ruin both the Tom Baker and the Tom Cruise stories by dumping all over the payoff.
i got marched to the bathroom to shave my charlie chaplin moustache..gatiss looks like he could do a good toothbrush moustache. ..why is it that society has no problem with corporatists and nonconsentual medical testing but the oliver hardy moustache is considered outragous?

Mark Gatiss a renaissance man of the highest order. 🌟
The joy in Mark' face. Set me up for the rest of the day.

Mark is such a modest and super talented man.
Thanks Rob and brilliant team. Mr. Gatiss has been a part of some of the most memorable television experiences of the last 20 or so years and very much appreciated. Cheers to all!

So lovely!!! Really love Mark Gatiss, so talented and interesting!
Great conversation. That "what a lovely tribute" line was brilliant. I feel like it went completely unaddressed.
The League of Gentlemen used to rehearse in the pub my wife used to run in London. Apparently, they were lovely.
My better half has met with Reece and Steve on occasion and she concurs they are both lovely people. She hopes to meet Mark one day.
It's nice to hear that about the people you enjoy watching.
I've met them all on a few occasions and they've always been very pleasant and polite. It's so cool that she got to meet them at the very start of it all!
Thank you so much for this video you two. By the way I totally did not tear up when you were talking about Tom Baker.
I loved inside no 9 so much. Wonderful.

That story about the homeless man and Tom Baker. Hit me in the heart some more.
The number of roles Mark can play is unbelievable
The League is something I watch every couple years AND the live shows! Love the three of them SO much!

My God I feel better for watching this, thank you.
The first two series of the league of gentlemen but especially the first series is the greatest comedy in tv history
Excellent interview! Super funny, interesting and entertaining. Thanks Bob! Nighty Night!!!
I love Mark Gatiss and this was lovely. I've got to say though, at first I thought he was about to do the magic trick where you put a cigarette in your ear and it comes out of your nose
Always amazing, thank you
Love Mark Love Rob!!

Mark Gatiss is such a quality human being.
Thankyou

He went very Yorkshire for a second talking about his mum.
whenever I see Mark Gatiss I know Christmas is coming.. :)
Let's all chip in and get Rob some lotion for his chin. 🤣
I love that he showed bob!!! ❤
'Nostalgic for now' was a 2012 album by the American group Mr Meeble.
I like Rob's Cardinal Richelieu look here.
Fantastic interview too.
Barry Cryer! Legend.

Elton John FEASTS on young artists!
He fed on the talent of Bernie Taupin for decades, so it's no surprise to me. 😁
On Barry Cryer, being energised by keeping up with young, up and coming comedians.
He said "I like talking about the past. I don't want to live in it".
Fantastic, thank you Rob.
Plus, dogs keep you fit.
I love basically everything Mark does. I loved The Vesuvius Club. In fact I was so taken by it, I'm writing something different but with the same atmosphere, set at the same time. And obviously about 5% as good!
Must boop Bob.
Glen Bulb . Legend
Seeing Mark with those AirPods in reminds me of Iris Krell. 😂
Elton John ‘Feasts’ on the younger artists 😅😬
Hopefully Bob the Dog never sees footage of Mark's work as Dr. Chinnery, the Royston Vasey vet.
6:10 Haaaaaaaay
6:57 what was this expression? couldn't quite make it out.
"You're looking at the lid for a very long time". Lid being eyelid, or maybe coffin lid. Similar to "you're a long time dead".
@@philvischannel8001 has to be coffin
@@philvischannel8001 Cheers, can hear it clearly now! stupid brain...
I thought he meant jam jar lmao, as in you're spending too much time dwelling on something
1. Stop scratching at your beard. 2. Thank you so much for getting Mark Gatiss on. 3.OMFG, I went to the same College 😛.
I truly love Mark. Even looking like a badly-passing lesbian professor of humanities.
Glen Bulb.
Get yourself a dog, Rob!
Mark Gatiss has a girlfriend??? Ive always assumed he was gay.
He is, but in his teens or early twenties he went out with a girl before he realised he is gay. Has been married to a man for many years.
i liked that rob hadn't fallen victim to this beard fad...
oh well.
Congratulations to whomever inserts the ads into these things as they managed to completely ruin both the Tom Baker and the Tom Cruise stories by dumping all over the payoff.
Brydon constantly pulling at the beard and fiddling with it - Aaargh, just extremely off-putting and distracting 🧔🏻♂️
i got marched to the bathroom to shave my charlie chaplin moustache..gatiss looks like he could do a good toothbrush moustache. ..why is it that society has no problem with corporatists and nonconsentual medical testing but the oliver hardy moustache is considered outragous?
Don't eat his special meat!
May I have a Shoutout please? 🙏
Mark Gatiss what a legend & Rob Brydon what a bore i would sooner watch paint dry
10 or 15 years too late to have started this podcast.
All the guests peaked long ago and no one is interested anymore
So why are you here? Oh, right, you feel the need to share your negativity, guess what, no one is interested in you or your negativity.
@@johncole5893 You obviously are as you replied. What a moronic comment.
