When Reece mentions that he would have originally played Pauline, I can't help but think that Cathy Carter-Smith was his eventual interpretation of the Restart Officer from Hell.
As brilliant as they all are, he's the darkest and most talented just by a nose yoruneko34. Inside No 9 'The Bill' is the most engaging TV I've seen since 'Breaking Bad', and that's up against the L.O.G!
@@SouthLincsMiniOwnersClub He's definitely a sexy man, but why is nobody talking about Jeremy?? He looks like the love-child of Taika Waititi and Bob Mortimer. Maybe I'm alone here, but..I think I'm into that.. 🤔
When I saw them Live in Brighton, just before the start, Jeremy dyson walked out from the side curtain and walked past where I was sitting. That was pretty cool.
Jesus Christ, he's so average looking 😅 I think when people go on about Reece as if he's Jude Law they're just subtly implying the other 3 are hideous.
I was intrigued and hooked when I saw the very first episode on the BBC. The first tour was brilliant and I went to see the tour again on Sunday 2nd September-the second time around on stage and it was even better, the lads are so clever and I loved the artistry and comedy. Nothing but praise for them and they keep getting better as the No.9 series was cleverly brilliant too!!!
I'm so glad I found The league of gentlemen! I'm Italian so I found it just for pure luck... Actually I casually stumbled upon Inside no. 9 on youtube, I watched it and I absolutely loved it and only after it I discovered The league of gentlemen (and Psychoville), so in like one month I saw every Steve's and Reece's work they did together I even bought the League's book on Amazon!(even if I'm not local hehe)...I obviously don't get all of it since it's pure British culture and I'm not British but I just love dark and "nonsense" comedy and when I first saw The League I thought "It's like if Monty python did Twin peaks" 😂
The only thing I haven't seen is the movie. Me and my partner love the League of Gentlemen series though, it is amazing to watch and I don't think I will ever grow tired of it - I can still re-watch episodes and get something new from them. They are all amazingly talented, a lot of the time I get so immersed in the scenes that I completely forget who's playing who. I hope there will be more some day. I have also been "Inside Number 9" (which I only recently noticed is also the door number of the Local Shops new location in the apartment block in the League of Gentlemen!).
Hugely talented chaps, everything they have done since T L O G has been first rate , I wonder what happened to Mick , the depressed guide in stump hole cavern ?... a particular favourite "sketch".
I think he might've been briefly mentioned. Herr Lipp says that he's back to 'dig up some old friends', and Justin was buried in the garden at the end of series 2. Still, I agree.. the more Lipp the better! The new eps were ace!
Sjthjs Dread Father - I think the only flaw with the new series was that it was generally too short, I think they could have developed the story across 6 episodes. It seemed rushed, but still, that's my only complaint, as it was amazing.
Depends on how you look at it. Once you know that's all Lipp gets, it becomes obvious that the "digging up old friends" line was just a logical excuse to get him back in town for a sketch, rather than a tease of future plot. Maybe we'll see more of him and Justin in a hopeful future reunion, although I guess they weren't hooked by that idea enough to cut down anything else this season.
I think I counted at least 4 occasions when Justin Johnson tried to indirectly ask them the "Papa Lazarou question" which they all studiously avoided answering. Lazarou is just another grotesque character in the League of Gentleman, to imply that he may somehow be unacceptable and it would therefore be "racist" to include him in future LOG material, is sadly symptomatic of our time.
These guys are amazing! It's up there with fawlty towers and Blackadder for me, absolute classic! Discovered inside no9 last year! Again amazing stuff! I love how they didn't just keep doing LOG and went off an did different things and then went back to it, so many comedy shows don't know when to give it a break.
Great to see them back, albeit briefly. Funny, touching and even quite sad at times. Really enjoyed catching up with the classic characters. They left it pretty open so I truly hope they reunite again in the future.
I agree the show is incredibly dark, but thats why i enjoy it. Im trying to get my girlfriend to watch it but she hates horror or creepy stuff, so big struggle lol.
I will always love the league of gentlemen. I told a young lad (he is fucking 20!.. kill me now) about them last year and now he is obsessed with it. I will never not laugh at Geoff.
It clearly shows they were killed off in Series 3 and all of the emotion from the writers in the behind the scenes DVD has all just been taken away. Also I don't find them funny tbh.
I know what you mean, it almost seemed lazy to bring them back, but at the same time they still managed to get some of the funniest lines, plus their story was the most relevant to the world of today. I felt glad that they made Barbara culturally relevant, I liked that her lines were something we could all laugh at, it didn't feel tailored to one particular section of the audience, I particularly laughed a lot at the line 'if you don't know which pronoun to use, you can fuck off, because I'm not telling ya', something similar actually happened to me.
I also think they should've been hour long specials, as I felt some of the characters scenes felt rushed and squeezed in. And Papa only had one scene, I hope there will be more in the future.
That's a good response to have, a lot of people don't think the same of Star Wars at the moment. If it did enough to make you want more, it has succeeded.
Gonna be honest, after just watching the latest season, is was a massive disappointment that does the show and some of its best characters dirty and for almost no real reason
Wasn't a fan of the third series (i hoped the specials would dismiss the events in that) but the specials felt a bit forced to me for the most part. Each one had about 5 minutes of footage that felt like it belonged in series 1 and 2 (when they were at their creative peak). Overall, felt the specials could have been a lot funnier, less far-fetched and less reliant on catchphrases and modernising the old sketches.
Amazing and wonderful its back. A question I would ask is; with smart phones (and they are less than 10 years old) -our whole surreal dystopia that seems normal to live in now has so much material for misunderstanding and miscomprehension with the different utopias clashing; that there must be new material ready to emerge and great seams to be mined.
chriswol63 I think people overstate the impact of technology. We've got PlayStation 4s, imagine the misunderstandings you will find people who think they can fly a spaceship!
I live close to Hadfield, I was on my way home after a nightshift looking bedraggled, and was delayed cos of the filming - I got home, said to my husband 'it took me ages to get back - they're filming LOG' husband took one look at me and said 'you look like one if the extras - I'm surprised they didn't rope you in'. 🤣
When Reece mentions that he would have originally played Pauline, I can't help but think that Cathy Carter-Smith was his eventual interpretation of the Restart Officer from Hell.
Shearsmith is such an amazing actor!!
yoruneko34 they all are in my opinion
They are sure, but in s4 I was blown away by him! So gratefull they came back I'm gonna watch inside N9 right away..
As brilliant as they all are, he's the darkest and most talented just by a nose yoruneko34. Inside No 9 'The Bill' is the most engaging TV I've seen since 'Breaking Bad', and that's up against the L.O.G!
Brighton Disco Lovers I honestly can’t wait to watch it!!
it's hard to beat Pemberton when he's playing a woman like Pauline or Tubbs. Or Her Lipp. All es KLAR!!
Very impressed with the new 3 parter. Very rarely do you get a programme that returns after so long and still feels so fresh. Hats off, Gentlemen.
and . . . Reece is still gorgeous
He is lovely, I thought I was alone in thinking so.

@@SouthLincsMiniOwnersClub No you're not alone, I've had the hots for him for years

Loved the new episodes. And the nod to Inside no 9 was brilliant!!
When I saw them Live in Brighton, just before the start, Jeremy dyson walked out from the side curtain and walked past where I was sitting. That was pretty cool.
The OG
They are hugely talented. Performers as well as writers. Wonderful.
The 3 episodes were fantastic.
Jeremy Dyson sounds exactly like tv scientist Brian Cox
'Inside No.9' is a wickedly clever and funny series.
The episode where the woman is moving house and the plot runs backwards is genius
That interviewer was very good! Also the new episodes were fantastic. Definitely not a let down.
Really wish we had gotten 6 episodes but I'm just excited that we have new material and a new tour.
I hope they make more. The characters were brilliant. Even today people are quoting lines from the earlier shows...genius!
Oh Reece, you are absolutely gorgeous
He is 🥰
Jesus Christ, he's so average looking 😅 I think when people go on about Reece as if he's Jude Law they're just subtly implying the other 3 are hideous.
Series 3 of TLOG is some of the best television I’ve ever seen.
Very very underrated series of the show .but it is brilliant
Yes the best series for me don't understand why most people much prefer the first two. Though they are all very good.
I loved these new episodes.
Wickedly funny geniuses.

Going to see the live show in 2018, can’t wait, I loved the 3 new shows, the league did us locals proud

Beautiful chat.
It's just come to me now, Steve would be perfect to play Digby if they ever made a Dan Dare TV series.
I was really hoping to see Mark as the next Doctor after David Tennant! A fourth season?!?! MUST WATCH!
He's great as Sherlock's wicked brother
I loved the 3 episodes. But Herr Lipp never went anywhere. I was expecting to see what happened to Justin
I think he might've been briefly mentioned. Herr Lipp says that he's back to 'dig up some old friends', and Justin was buried in the garden at the end of series 2.

Yes, even more so in 2022. So many fools getting offended over nothing. I was always mesmerized by Papa Lazaro.
So you understand why they avoided getting drawn into that question.
I feel like Babs was a lot worse, one of the most transphobic depictions ever IMO and that never gets mentioned.
Yes, you are spot on. But nothing wrong with the character or the usage of it.
@@whitepontiachusband3524 Humour is based in truth.
A whole Papa Lazarou special PLEASE!
It's a wife mine now!
Im glad he only had a small part as it wouldnt be right as he got unmasked in series 3
danny tudge, Papa Laz 'whited-up' in S3. His natural colour _is_ the black and white clown mask, unless I'm very much mistaken.
Pte Sweats he did white up but it fitted in as it showed as the girl who works in charity shop
Edward I think is going to scare the living hell outta papa when he finds out he has his tubbs
Hello Dave
I was so happy to see The League of Gentlemen return, it's just wetted my appetite for more though.

It's way better than Fawlty Towers and Blackadder. Many levels better.

I was so sad when Pauline died
I had never seen LOG before the special, loved it.
Reece Shearsmith was brilliant in 'The Widower'
It's a must watch if you're a fan of his
They're being interviewed by one of their own characters.
Jeremy looks very much like Bob Mortimer when he played the clueless estate agent in "Monkey Trousers" there!
Jeremy Dyson has the same voice as prof Brian Cox

You can tell Reece Shearsmith is toning down his northern accent. They all are hahaha.

Reece Shearsmith, annoyed at having to be anywhere.
He is just shy and has social anxiety
Jeremy Dyson = Brian Cox. Anyone else see it?
Did they really have to bring back Edward & Tubbs? They should've stayed dead at the beginning of Series 3, as they managed without them.
It clearly shows they were killed off in Series 3 and all of the emotion from the writers in the behind the scenes DVD has all just been taken away. Also I don't find them funny tbh.
I understand them being in Apocalypse, as that was a spinoff, but there's no way they survived that train attack.
