I've been watching your videos for a while and it just seems like I have to give up and unlearn all the other software I know just to learn blender seems like a very counterproductive software.
I mean I like it (obviously) and I find it pretty intuitive. The workflow makes sense for me and has a logical methodology. But that won't be the same for everyone and that's why it's good there are different software options so people can use what works for them. If you don't like Blender you don't need to force yourself to learn it, other software does the same things Blender can, I just like that Blender does it in one package instead of needing multiple softwares. Go with what you like and enjoy.
@@ArtisansofVaul I definitely try to stick with my favorite softwares small the company aspects the constant influx of new software and corpos telling you what you have to learn next, definitely will give blender another go though and I'll definitely keep your videos in mind that been very helpful.
@Rob Rift If you're being told you have to use something that must be frustrating as hell. Luckily I don't have that issue, if you do I really feel for you. It's never nice to have to work with something that doesn't "feel" right for your way of working.
That's really personal preference but I do like to have one file I append from as it makes things easier to find, though perhaps in the future if I had too many brushes on the one file I may make separate files (e.g. one for organics like horns, ears, etc then one for bullet holes, one for runes, and so on). But again that would just depend on what you find more convenient.
Awesome! Do you have to import the VDM brushes every time you create a new file? Is there a way to make them autoload or be part of the default brush setup?
If you load them and save the startup file then they will automatically be there so that saves some time. But I'd only probably do that for brushes I use the most.
I don't believe so. There are shortcuts to the brush it is assigned to but then not to the custom brushes that are assigned. Maybe using some form of macros....?
I have a question. How do I use these brushes on different modes? For example the scape tool. I made this work on one of my other projects but can't figure out how to do it now. I downloaded some brushes and I clicked on somehting which I can't remember which got the brushes assignes to the clay and scape modes.
So thats difficult to answer without knowing exactly what you have done but from the sound of it if you have assigned a brush to a tool you then select that brush on the left hand side, then on the "n" panel on the right you can click on the image of the brush and it will have the options assigned to that brush. Hopefully that helps.
So many tutorials on how to create a VDM (which became super easy now). But none I could find was covering that part : make brushes with custom icons and available easily with any blender project. So cool to share this mate. Helps a lot (b^-^)b
Happy to have helped 😁 It's one of the details I found quite a while to find out how to do and some trial and error, which was really frustrating, so I wanted to include it.
I'm not sure to be honest. I haven't seen anything showing that they can be but I might be wrong. I mean maybe as they appear in the outliner. Ill have a play.
Came here to make the same suggestion 😂😝 Discovered the wonder of the asset browser late last week. It’s like living in the future 🤘🏻😂 Keep up the awesome videos
@GingerJesusDJ I love asset browser. While I don't think you can for brushes (still need to check this) you can for custom geometry nodes if you use them.
Thanks man you are the only One that I found capable of theaching this in and entire afternoon ❤
😅👍🏻 Glad to know I'm helping 😁😁😁

Should I make a new file to append from for new projects if I just want to make variations of default brushes (for different settings) ?

Amazing tutorial
@christianreisferro1345 Cheers Christian. And thanks for taking the time to comment, much appreciated 😁

Can brushes be added to the asset browser?

It's planned but not implemented yet.
@@GingerJesusDJ can you please further elaborate how your workflow changed if you dont mind
