You can see the brushes in the asset library! Check the asset type filter at the top right, brushes are a type, and usually off. And once you've turned them on, you can add your own catalogues like one just for VDMs, as per usual!
@EmilySmirleGURPS Oh brilliant. Glad I missed that as it seemed silly without it. I'll add this in the description and pin your comment. Thanks so much!
Thank you! I'm usually slow to update because I'm a creature of habit, but as I've just started sculpting for 3D printing, I LOVE this new feature and will be updating immediately.
I noticed that a huge number of changes in 2.80 made using a tablet easier (e.g., all the icons in the top right of the view). I'm not surprised that sculpting, of all things, is getting easier to use on a tablet. This is a great and detailed explanation. Thanks!
This is an incredibly exciting and helpful video. I do quite a bit of sculpting in Blender and the brushes system has been one of those pain points that I was hoping they'd work on.
As I mostly do sculpting in blender, I'm both looking forward to and dreading this update - looking forward because of the new options, dreading because it's a change and that is always tough on me.
@thatblastedsamophlange Totally understand that, no one liked change. What I think I like about this is many of the processes are the same (like setting up custom brushes) but now I only have to do it once! 😁
@@ArtisansofVaul It's relearning the muscle memory of where I have everything set up - it takes me extra effort doing that. I had a quick question;, when I export STL files, the exported file always puts the name of the blender file at the beginning - how would I turn that off? So it is just the object name as the export?
@thatblastedsamophlange I've never bothered doing it from there. Use the export option under file, it has some great options. I'm not going to check the options in the 3D print toolbox to see what it has 😅
quality content; thank you for sharing your knowledge I still like sticking my 6 fav brushes on my Quick Favs menu and/or setting up single key shortcuts for the brushes i use the most but these new features look pretty cool; that said, not sure I like having the shelf taking up a bunch of screenspace on a laptop
This is probably the best update since blender 3.5. The worst part is that some brushes that I bought before, from previous blender versions might not work. That could be a pain in the butt.
Is there a way to move new sculpt icons to the left or right side of the panels? i kinda don't mind it down where its at but it just gets in my way. and by the way the 3 little lines next to ALL, General Paint, on the sculpt Menu bar is not visible in the white theme, incase any one was looking for the Simulation brushes. Im hidding them for now and using Shift + SpaceBar, but yet that menu can not be adjusted in size as well.
@kodesh8751 That's annoying about the white theme. I'm not sure if there is a setting to change where it's located but I haven't found one yet. It would be good to be able to have it somewhere else for sure!
hey are you having trouble with the gesture tools? the ones that like Box/Line/Lasso etc? i can't get them to do anything-they all just draw a highlight box and nothing else
@evilotis01 Oh... interesting. I only really tried out the sculpt tools as that's what had got me excited 😅 Maybe worth waiting for 4.3 to be fully released know the 19th and see if the issue is still there.
@@ArtisansofVaul It still doesn't work for me on some brushes. I tried the draw, layer and clay brush and they don't work but some of the others do despite not listing and shortcuts bound to them... EDIT: and none of my shortcuts from 4.2 copied over

Can you make a video about how to set up asset library to be used on all files. I cant figure it out
@@OmniTAF I have a video on that here: ruclips.net/video/ERj1m1zBmrs/видео.html
