I finally bought a Seiko King Turtle, and its my first and probably the last automatic watch. Had a Casio G-shock that my dad bought in 1991 had it till 2011 until it died. I bought the same year a Suunto Core all black to have in on the SF OTC (they allowed us a watch with an altimeter). Took this Suunto around the world on combat deployments, mountains, desert, oceans, jungles and is for me personally the best watch I ever owned. Had to open it couple of times to clean the buttons because they got stuck (African fine sand), but it’s still waterproof and works great. In 2021 the original plastic watch bands got worn out so since then I replaced them two times with Chinese copies… Also carried G 19 for personal protection 24/7 for years and is a pistol I trust my life with. Hehehe also owned a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel and had it running on cooking oil hehehe. Stay safe and God bless!

Glock 19 1) Reliability 2) Durability 3) Availability Out of all the Pistols I have. A Glock will always be the one I carry & will be with me when SHTF
@@AncientHueman Who knows? There may or may not ever be a situation like it, but I know I won't be upset if I had a firearm I could depend on if it ever did happen.

There's such beauty in a person who cherishes one thing they have in particular and has spent massive amounts of time with it. Someone's carry gun is as good an example as any, and if it's going to only be one gun for over a decade at a time, it might as well be a Glock.
I like the words than came out from this man. I am 67 years old and have been a gunowner since 1993. I am lucky enough to own multiple guns from multiple brands(HK, Sig, SW, SA, CZ, Beretta, Glock, Browning....). If I am only limited to one gun, I would choose to have my Glock 19 Gen 5. It is simple to operate, reliable, light enough to carry, heavy enough to be my house gun, parts are readily available, has a track record to back it up. It is not the most accurate gun that I have, it is not the most expensive gun I have, it does not have the bling factor. But it is the most practical gun to have if I can only have one.
I am a large individual being 6’3 300 pounds and I absolutely love my Glock 45 MOS. Glock is simple and reliable and I trust my life on the firearm. It will always shoot no matter what. I do carry a WML and I’m in between appendix and right behind the 3 o’clock position for carry. I go back and forth depending on what I’m doing. @JetediaKaetterhenry-ig9ue much appreciated! The LGS that I acquire from distributes more Glock variants than any other with the least return or failures. Everything else ends up on the used shelf eventually because they trade in on a Glock of some sort.
Cool video. I have the exact same setup. Same gen 4 19 with that Magpul magwell. Love how it forces my hand higher up. I have Teijicon night sites on mine. I have tried other guns for carry, including the M&P Compact 2.0 but the thicker Glock grip feels so good it’s like it was made for me. I have a HK45 for hiking in the mountains. 45ACP will kill a black bear or a man. You can’t go wrong with a Glock or HK product.
Very nice! I carried a cz75d pcr for 9 years. Simplicity is often the best path. I actually carry a PSA dagger now. Liked it better than my Glocks. Once I got past 3k rounds on it with no malfunctions I deemed it good to go. Takes Glocks mags, parts, was half the cost with same functionality and better ergonomics.
Excellent video, thanks for it. I’m early in my firearms/self-defense journey. And I’m tired of the constant pressure to buy the latest wonder gun. Videos like this give me inspiration to commit to one gun that works for me and to forget the rest. Comes down to the 43X and G26, both excellent in their own ways and I struggle to decide which i should dedicate my time and money and energy to mastery.
@chasedooley6237 glad to have made a positive confirmation for you, I appreciate the nod. I can't tell you what's going to be right for your use case. It's quite personal, and you're the one that needs to like the end result. Personally, I'd choose the Glock 26, which I do keep around because I got a really good deal on it. In my hands, the slimline 43 series offerings are just not a good choice, and weren't available back when I got my G26 10yrs ago. The overall design of the G26 tends to be much easier for me to manage recoil, and get a firm grip on in general. I appreciate the magazine flexibility, while also having a pistol that is reasonable for my body size and pants to pocket carry. A 43x just isn't going in a pocket, and the slimline design is obnoxious for me to keep on target well. Always, always, try and rent a piece so you can really work with it, and make a determination that's good for you. The recoil on a 43x isn't bad by any means, but I find it to be punchier than the G26 due to the narrow frame. This matters when it comes to personal preference, but also when managing follow-up on target. The G26 is essentially 100% with a 30yr track record, a plethora of aftermarket support, and considerably more consistent with whatever ammo you feed it. The 43x can be modded, Shield Arms magazines, and all sorts of extras... Cool. The G26 is designed from the get-go to work with all double stack 9mm Glock mags, and does so perfectly. That reliability cannot be said for S15 mags. Get a really good G19 holster like the Tenicor Velo4 and use it for the G26, that thing will disappear on pretty much anyone. That's my input, and I hope it helps you well! Cheers and best wishes on making your choice.
@@PhotoCaptured Appreciate the response! I already own both, but I agree with you about them. I like my 43X because of how it feels in my hand, very natural, and it’s really light and comfortable to carry. I’m also really fast out of concealment with it, draw to first shot in just less than a second. But my 26 shoots so much better, more versatile, more concealable. I have a Certum 3 for my 19 that I haven’t tried with my 26; I will though! Thanks again, be safe and train hard!
I feel the same, gone back & forward buying handguns landed on the 17 myself. Only added night sights & was thinking of trying talon rubber since I never tried it & a magwell. I don’t like touching Glocks messing up the reliability that’s it for me. But I kept a future collectible that I’ll probably never get rid of Jericho steel f9 pre-2019, beautiful piece.
Excellent video, I love the glock 19 and carry one on occasion. Only stipulation would be that for *most* people today the G19 is too big for daily carry.
iv had my Glock since 2015 it was my first concealed carry firearm. although I carry a smith and Wesson these days I still love my Glock. will never get rid of it.
Glock 19 w/ Tenicor IWB holster has been my daily for several years. I’ve TRIED to get away from Glock and I always end up coming back to the Glock 19.
I've carried a 19 since my 21st birthday. I've just recently bought a dagger micro to use in the summer time. the 19 is the jack of all trades. I use a G17 at work, and can't say that it shoots much better than the 19. It has worked just fine for me all this time. I will give the smaller gun a go and see if it's significantly more comfortable to carry in the Summer time or not.
I have my duty issue G17 from a past life. Great piece, but I see no good reason to carry it much. Like you, I don't find that it brings me any benefits, and the increase in size just means more effort to conceal. I do prefer the G17 mags if I'm going to carry a spare because they index much easier for me. The shorter G19 mags can be funky to manipulate with my hands getting in the way...
Great video, brother. As time has gone by I too have realized that its best just to have a few good quality items that will last and not get caught up in being a consumer, chasing the latest and greatest. Well done.
Loved my 19, had it for four years and it was often the only pistol that I owned. I kinda regret selling it. I've devolved a bit and gone 1911 because it works a little better for me in a couple of ways; it solves some pet peeves I have with most handguns and how they fit and function in my hands, but the G19, especially the Gen 4 like you have, is a fantastic pistol. I might buy another one.
Thank you Mr. Brown for this video sir. Very clear and Very firm on your instructions. I’m a believer as well. Thank you for this amazing video. Nice content.
That a tenicor? I really like both my tenicors. I didn't like the velo but I enjoy my certum3 for my 43xmos and certum lux for my 19.5. I asked before you answered but the rest still stands! Great video dude. Really really good. The g20 is a next for me as well.
Can't go wrong with a G19 or any Glock. I almost bought one last week. Instead, I picked the PSA Dagger Micro and fell in love with it. I'm a big fan of PSA, having owned one of their ARs for a while now. I'm excited to have a pistol modeled after a Glock, that still gives me a 15-round capacity, in a slightly smaller size more suited to my body-type, for a price that allowed me to pick up extra mags, a red-dot, holster and some other accessories, for less than the price of the Glock. Hoping you get at least another 14 years out of your 19! Cheers!
Nice! Now you can get a CAA MCK with a 16 inch barrel for the Glock 19. I might get a G19 here in CA but frame work would be needed because all stock Glocks are uncomfortable for my hands.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Its 2024 and im gonna buy a glock g19 gen3. Gen 5 its very expensive in my country, then i should go for gen 3. Ps: a gunsmith can paint your gun slide with cerakote, will look like brand new
@duque_bm whatever you decide on, enjoy it well! The only way I'd consider coating my slide is if I start having rust issues with carry. So far so good, and I kinda like the honest wear 🔥
Thank you! I was contemplating getting installing a backstrap piece on my gun, but I was concerned about it being noticeable through my clothes. You helped convince me.
@theconservativeminimalist9334 I used to run Tru-Glo TFX Pro sights, but after they died, I wanted to try something cleaner. Now I use the Ameriglo Spartan Tactical Night Sights with orange front. Clean, fast pick-up, precise, and better in mixed light over the fiber optic offerings. I've tried the XS Big Dots, and I know that the late James Yeager really liked them, but I'm not a fan. For what they are meant to do, I'd rather have a good optic from Holosun or Trijicon. Personally I find them excessive, and more challenging when I want to be precise. The Ameriglo offerings tend to be a clean rear set with tritium, and a high-vis front that just works well. Which is why I recommend them with confidence. Durable, precise, and very clear!
Eloquent and well presented video on the G19 :) The wear on that slide after 14 years is beautiful and that round count is impressive! I am absolutely inspired by your journey with it. It's easy to always want the newest/shiniest thing, instead of sticking with ol' reliable. I've had and carried my Gen 4 for about 5 years. Basically the same setup as yours with the magpul magwell, but in FDE and I attached a TLR 7 flex. Is there a particular reason why you don't add a weapon mounted light?
@CheJoffre thank you! I have several WML offerings from Streamlight, but I find them much more useful on a rifle or shotgun. In the EDC role, I much prefer a little extra comfort and the guarantee that I will always carry it. There are times that clothing or work allows for me to pull it off and not feel like I'm getting jabbed all day. The handheld high power lights are much preferred in my use case, and I can very effectively make hits while manipulating the light with my other hand. Yes, there are certainly some downsides, but I ALWAYS have a light on me when I'm out and about. Usually a I have a Pro-Tac 2L-X or Cloud EDC on me 👌
@CheJoffre much appreciated ✌️ I don't "script" myself, so it really comes down to what quality content I can focus on. Not so much in relevance sake, but being up front and clear for some who don't want to be bombarded by the long timers. There are a number of great guys who have put out impressive content, and I'll leave them to their skill area. I'm hoping to keep things fresh and generally focus on long-term use. The new and shiny isn't necessarily going to be a thing on my channel. Nothing against it, I'm just a tried and true sort, so I'll stay in my lane.
can you explain why/how you cut the beavertail? Also interested in the material/putty you used on it to make it less flimsy. Great video and loving this type of long form content. Thanks again!
@elyperez9885 Gen4 and 5 come with backstrap options in the box when new, otherwise Amazon is your friend. I prefer factory, so I'd recommend getting those 👌 My method is to measure 5-8 lines of texture down from the trigger housing pin/backstrap keeper. Then I make a mark on each side, and use heavy kitchen scissors to cut the lower part of the strap off. Once that is down I just snip each sharp corner to start my blending process. Buff it all with some 400 grit sand paper, make sure it is contoured and blended nicely, and mount it. If you really want it to stay in place, but still be removed for yearly cleaning, I pack a pea size glob of Gorilla brand poster putty under the upper portion after warming it in my fingers. Firmly, but gently press it into place so it spreads out, and then push the pin through. Mine has held up perfectly for a little more than 2yrs now with no issues. The end result is a beavertail to avoid slide bite, while not increasing the overall grip circumference. I may have huge hands, but I really don't need the extra girth to get a good firing grip on my pistols. That said I shoot the G20 with or without the backstrap, and even a P226 with the medium (bulky) grip just fine. My draw is much more consistent with the backstrap, and I don't have any issues with slide bite. Many, many, guys shoot just dine without the beavertail mod, but I find it to be a game changer. So I take every edge I can, while still keeping the whole G19 as bone stock as possible. No send off work, and no customization that I cannot easily repeat myself. I'll be doing a video soon showing the whole process, and what it does for me 😎
I have tried out many other makes especially when something new comes out. Every time within 1 to 4 weeks I always go back to my G19. I finally gave up
I got a PDP Compact Pro SD a couple years back, and that sucker is phenomenal. No I won't be getting rid of it, but it's in the safe and the G19 is on me when I leave the house. New is interesting, but yeah the G19 just covers everything I want and need for day-to-day carry.
Same here. Been carrying the gen 3 G19 for about the same time. I've toyed with the Sig x Macro, but now leaning to the Glock 29 SF. It still runs great, probably 15k rounds, just one barrel spring replacement. What exactly do you mean the sear was unsafe?
The edge of the sear was literally rounded off and would slip before a full trigger press was achieved. The G29 is excellent, I used to have one and let it go when I was strapped for green. Ended up getting a G20 to replace it.

I love the finish wear on the front of the slide. Yes, you use your gun.
I have a Gen 4 FDE 19 that has never let me down.
I’ve got g19.3 g19.5 and g19x
Love them all …
Glock 19 w/ Tenicor IWB holster has been my daily for several years. I’ve TRIED to get away from Glock and I always end up coming back to the Glock 19.
It’s super cool to see a gun like that with honest wear not just tossed around and has very few rounds through it congratulations to you!
Hey Timmy! You've got a sub. Love the honest wear on a carry gun.
Just like most things that came out in the 90's. The glock 19 is timeless. I personally changed the frame out for an agtermarket one however.
Can't watch the whole thing now, but I wanted to say congrats! I'm about that long with a G26 and G17 backup mag... when you know, you know! 👊
New subscriber to your channel. The Glock 19 is the true only one hand gun!
Trial and error got me to the tenicor holster, mag pouch, and belt.
Nice choice and one gun solution. Kudos to you.
I have a bunch more than 1, but still carry the same G26 I bought almost 20 years ago.
Cheers!
The ware gives it so much more personality 🥵
Just picked up a OD Green Gen 3 Glock 19!
What a work horse
This is how my journey with the 26 gen 4 is.
I want to say that i love this video. So great
I can see some dead skin rubbing on that grip. Meaning is being carried everyday. Well done. Looks just like mines. 💯
Great video brother. Glad you know and have the one true savior too!!!
Awesome video! Thanks
Nice! Now you can get a CAA MCK with a 16 inch barrel for the Glock 19.
I might get a G19 here in CA but frame work would be needed because all stock Glocks are uncomfortable for my hands.
I like the Casio duro too
I still like the Gen4s regardless of what people say about them. That’s what I cut my teeth on when I started shooting pistols
Have a gen3 G19 for the last 34 years
Timothy that is a GD beautiful gun. GD beautiful
It’s a glock… there’s literally nothing special about it, they all look the same
Great video, may God bless you brother 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Thank you, great video sir.
What iron sights are you running? Curious on your thoughts of xs big dots?
@CheJoffre thank you!
Usually a I have a Pro-Tac 2L-X or Cloud EDC on me 👌
Great points! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos, Brother. So refreshing to hear your point of view.
@CheJoffre much appreciated ✌️
I don't "script" myself, so it really comes down to what quality content I can focus on.
I prefer factory, so I'd recommend getting those 👌
My method is to measure 5-8 lines of texture down from the trigger housing pin/backstrap keeper.
I'll be doing a video soon showing the whole process, and what it does for me 😎
@@PhotoCaptured that's the next video I was hoping you'd make! Subbing now to make sure I don't miss it.
This is rad.
I feel like I’m watching Gale from Breaking Bad talking about his Glock 19 lol.
Lmao Gale
I appreciated the BB reference
Less lethal option is Pom small pepper spray. Sometimes that’s all you need - some hot sauce.
Bro your hands are huge !
She’s a beauty
