      Hey the S15 mags are only on backorder NOT out of stock.. They are shipping from as soon as 7 days up to about a month.. But they're there... So.. Body type.. I'm 5'10" 150... I just got the 48 mos and waiting on the 43x mos... and it's literally perfect for me. That being said... If I were larger I probably would've gone with the 19. Cool video dude!

      I use a 26 cut for RMR in the summer and 19 in the “hoody” season. It I use a holster with a much higher belt clip. Makes it harder to draw, but practice solves that.

      I just adjusted my holster height and used a wedge sometimes to carry my G26 with 12 or even 17 rounds. I also used a dovetail mount to install a red dot on it. I've made it work, overcoming each of the difficulties you mentioned. Maybe cheaper than buying a whole new gun.

    One of the most logical and well-reasoned gun videos I've seen. I went through the same analysis you did when I settled on the G26. Only when I carry the G26, I use the flush fit mag to minimize printing and carry a longer mag in my pocket as a spare (I don't need to carry a light or a red dot, to each their own!). I am tempted by the thinner Glocks from time to time, but in the end, the negatives outweigh the benefits for me. Good job!

      @bobsnittle3793 Год назад +1

      i was considering the 26 for concealed carry but like the guy in the video said, its less shootable without the mag extension, and at that rate being about the same dimension as the 19 with 3 less rounds you might as well go for the 19 anyways cause it has 3 more rounds bone stock oem so it has higher reliability too. seems like no matter hhow much i analyze it, it seems like i should just stick to the 19 overall. its like the perfect size. i was thinking of a 26 as a backup gun, but now im thinking of just getting a second 19 instead.

    • @mikeblast7507
      @mikeblast7507 Год назад

      @@bobsnittle3793 Can't argue with anything you say, except I'm not sure why two G19s are better than a G19 and 26? Anyway, my primary EDC is actually split between my CZ 75 P01 Omega and my Kimber 1911 Custom II (which I have on me now). Except compared to other Glocks, I really don't see the advantage of the G26 at all, though I do still carry it on occasion.

      I understand your point but personally I think the 19 is the most versatile Glock ever made. It's no wonder that it takes 1st place umong any Glock ever made. I'm 5.11, 200lbs and have no issues concealing the 19 during winter or summer. It's all in the holster plus you get 15+1 rounds vs 10+1 rounds and not to mention it's easier to shoot than a smaller gun. Case closed.

    • @floridaman6138

      @@ATOMSKI_MRAV the 26 is more versatile because you can essentially make it bigger but you can't make the 19 smaller... I have carried big (92-series Berettas) and small (Bond Bullpup). Good video. I’ve been carrying concealed off duty for 29 years, going on 30 in a few months. I own 16 Glocks now (and countless other brands and calibers). I only say that because I’ve compared various Glock models carried concealed in every single configuration that you can imagine. I prefer IWB appendix as #1 for me. I shelved my 19’s, 26, 48 and 43’s for the 43x. I also carried the 48 the same way, but like the 19, it bothered me while seated due to its length. So the 43X is my winner and I will only use Glock factory OEM magazines. That means 10-rounders for the 43x and 48 and so be it, it works nicely. It’s why I carry two spares in my pocket. For off duty, I don’t need all that tactical hardware of larger mags on my waistband area, nor my pockets. Again, I’m off duty and 10+1 with two spares is enough. The 26 is a fantastic gun however, but it’s mothballed now in the safe. I like the thinness of the 43x better.
    Also, get a Vedder “light tuck” kydex IWB holster and you won’t have that “top heavy” feeling when carrying the 26 IWB, Vedder is so much better than T.Rex, plus the spring steel clip is adjustable for height. You get what you pay for.

    • @colt10mmsecurity68
      @colt10mmsecurity68 3 года назад +4

      @Dr Beechas I collect firearms, so owning every Glock model in 9mm (as well as Hk 😄 ) is a choice I make. Also I’d never “Frankenstein” one gun, for parts onto another, but I have seen the slide “swapping” done that you mentioned amongst the various Glock models. Lastly, I love the 43 (as I do the 43x and 48). It just depends on what time of year, season, clothing I’m wearing and where I’m going or doing that determines which gun I’m carrying that day.

      I've been shooting the G19 ever since I started shooting, it was the first gun I ever shot, and became my daily carry, so to me the single stacks actually feel weird to shoot and I'm not as accurate as with the G19 or the G26, I think a single stack makes sense as a pocket gun, like the G43, but the G43X is the same size as the 19, but single stack to me that feels very strange to shoot

    I recently made the same switch, but for a couple different reasons: first, the 19's 15 +1 capacity vs the 26's 12+1 with a +2 mag ext. are exactly the same length. Second, I was never able to shoot the 26 very well, always shot my 17 way better, but just too much gun to carry. So the longer barrel works, without giving up concealability. Luckily where I bought my glock 19 they walked me through a bunch of brands and models to help me decide to land on the G19. I always knew for my first gun I wanted a Glock, however when deciding on which one I told them my purpose for my firearm was for concealed carry andddd work as I am armed Security Officer / fugitive recovery agent. The barrel was the right size for a duty weapon and a perfect size for concealed carry. I’m 6 foot and weigh 185lbs with a bit of a beer belly lol but after exploring my options of a holster i had found my perfect setup for IWB carry. I ran it perfectly for months and decided that even though there was minimum printing I’d invest in a claw kit for my IWB holster. So glad I went with the Glock 19. If you go with any Glock I’d recommend the Glock 19 most definitely 👍🏼

    Aside from your choices re 26 v 19, something that can mitigate the forward lean as well as the other lateral printing factors is the use of the ENIGMA chassis by Phylster. Use whatever holster you want (they recommend a wide variety) and the chassis controls the cant, lean, tilt and rotation of the weapon, tuned to your body type. Awesome solution we've been using for a few months now teaching on the range as well as working contracts.

    I think the missing part of “conceal ability” is the difference in dimensions when it comes to appendix carry vs 3-4 carry. The height of the gun is extremely important for the 3-4 carry, while length is much important for the appendix carry.
    Thickness (unless wearing tight clothes) seems to be mostly about comfort.
    The new sig x macro seems to be major proof. Everyone I’ve heard that likes the long 17 round mag is appendix carrying.
    Right now is summer and I carry the 26 at 3-4 with no grip extension. I would gladly take a longer barrel, but I’ll save the grip extensions for late fall. If I were to carry sig, I would run a standard 365 frame (10 rd flush mag) with an xl barrel. I’m assuming sig will eventually release a full length slide for their new full length grip; I would probably even like that on a standard 365 frame.

    You could also just use a holster made for a 19 or even a 17 to achieve the same effect of inside the pants leverage that the longer barrel provides. Though there's nothing at all wrong w/ the G19 as a choice.

  • @designated_hitter_EGA
    @designated_hitter_EGA Год назад +1

    @colt for what its worth, several top holster can be used to holster more than one Glock size. For example my Tenicor Velo which is made for my Glock 17 can also holster my G19 and G26, and give that leverage you talk about wanting when carrying the smaller barrel gun. Additionally, a Tenicor velo made for the G19 can also carry the G26, and because the bottom of the holster is open, also holster the G17 though it sticks out the bottom a small amount. The same holds true for the G43X in a G48 holster. But, one might have to try them out and asses for themselves. I carried my G19 and when I wanted to see if a G17 was feasible for me to conceal carry, I went to my local gun shop and tried it in my G19 holster.

      To make my smaller Hellcat not dip forward from top-heaviness, I put a thick wedge on the bottom of the holster. It pushes the top of the gun into my body along with the claw on the holster. The good thing about a wedge is that you can control how thick you want to go. The thicker the more it pushes the top into you. They sell precut wedges for this purpose but you're better of just buying small dense foam sheets from amazon for like $7 and just cut them to your holster size and layer them as you wish with super glue or any adhesive. Remember, the wedge on the back of the holster needs to be below the belt-line to create a fulcrum and push the upper half into you. I have some on my G19 holster as well to really avoid printing.

After a proper range visit with mag dumps i was in love with the glock for how minimal and easy it was to use under heavy firing. Adding the magazine compatibility only sealed its position as my first carry gun, I then picked up a g17 which i stacked up against the g19 in the store grip to grip and it was only a like a couples 8ths of an inch difference in concealability. The g17 fit my hands perfectly and my hand didnt hang off the gun like it still does on the g19. OWB the 17 will print obviously in lighter clothing so ill have to figure something out, but right now i love my current setup with a g17 at 3oclock and the g26 riding backup at the 9oclock next to my reload. I cant say enough good things about glock and especially the g26, it shoots like a full size gun, its recoil impulse is basically identical to the bigger glock frames. Also these guns are incredibly light on the body for the amount of ammo they are holding. A similar 1911 in any caliber would weight twice what the g17 does fully loaded.

For two plus decades I have carried the same and printing has not been an issue; always easier in cooler months with heavier and/or more clothing. As you stated, much depends on an individual's body type, where they carry, and type/brand holster.
    The only thing that has changed, over the past 25 years, is ammunition technology. My 23 may be configured in 40S&W, 357SIG, or 9x19. Ballistically, all three calibers are very similar today. This was not the case 25 years ago; yet still, each of these calibers have strengths and weaknesses. I like to have options and maximize utility. This is very easy to obtain with minimal investment in my case. The mission dictates the gear.

    Very interesting! I basically did the same thing you did, carrying my first CC pistol, a G26 since 2012. But as I was shopping for a G19 recently and couldn't find any, the shop I was visiting DID happen to have a G17... and I had just started carrying AIWB and realized the potential to conceal larger size guns in that position. I asked for permission from the shop guy, got it, and plopped that sucker in my holster. With the largest "wing" the holster came with, the G17 was snug against my torso, and I realized, "Heck! Lets go with this one! It's like carrying my spare G26 magazine already in the mag well!"
    So that's what I ended up going with, a G17 Gen 5. I had hoped for a Gen 4 (Gen 5 has taken some self-convincing), but the Gen 5 was the newer "corrected" variety, and was available right away, whereas it seems like the Gen 4s are intended to be eventually phased out. I've really enjoyed it since. It's good to see someone else who basically went down a very similar road of decisions. PS, I dig the blue trim on your G26!

    Really good video. I'm a 19 guy myself. 5' 10 and 195. I find the 19 to print on me a little. I notice it but don't think most do. I've thought about going smaller but have a problem drawing smaller pistols out when I practice. Don't like smaller grips. So I stick with the 19.

    I just adjusted my holster height and used a wedge sometimes to carry my G26 with 12 or even 17 rounds. I also used a dovetail mount to install a red dot on it. I've made it work, overcoming each of the difficulties you mentioned.

    Great video and content. You're a good speaker with good transitions from point to point. As an alternative to Shield magazines, Palmetto State Armory now offers polymer 15s for the 43X and 48X. Sign up for alerts when they spontaneously become available and be ready to act quickly. "PSA Dagger Micro 9mm 15 Round Magazine" - no need to switch to a metal magazine release, either, for $29.99 a piece. Not an ad, here, but if you want to keep it slim with capacity then I hope this helps. Thanks again!

    Outstanding video. I’ve had generation 3 and generation 4 G26s... Start watching this video and I’m thinking that maybe I want to pick up a GEN 5 just to have it... and then I remember how uncomfortable it was to carry it, compared to the G 19/G 48/G 43X...

    I got a new Blue Label 🚔 Glock 26 9mm gen 5 in 2020. Fall. I prefer the 26 due to the smaller size but it can use 15 or 17rd Glock 9mm spare magazines. I use a 12rd Magpul, extended grip mag too. My Glock 26 has a few after market parts, factory Ameriglo night sights. It conceals well & I use HST 124gr +P 9mm mostly. The only misfire I had was after 500+ 9mm factory rounds with a Federal Syntech red polymer tip 9mm that left a small strip of red polymer in the trigger 😖. I cleaned & checked the 26 gen 5 9mm. It worked fine & had no misfires, 600+ FMJs.

    The “flipping out” you are having issues with on the 26 is the same issue i had for a while. I finally realized the if i modified, or just bought another holster, that had the belt attachment further up on the holster (as in closer to the beaver tail area), it put the center of gravity deeper below the belt and didnt flip out as bad. I actually started getting the belt clip so deep that it began to get hard to grip the gun to draw, so i started getting adjusting a more forward cant on the holster. Between the deeper clip and the forward cant, i no longer had the issue and was able to carry deep enough that you couldnt tell i had a gun at all.

    I have the 48. I will say, I am regretting not getting the 19. While the 48 is nice, it is not really anything more special than the 19. I was looking for a compact carry and chose the 48 because it is thinner. But this leads to me having problems gripping the 48 comfortably. Hindsight is always 20-20.
