most people don't know the story but the reason Randy Moss Mooned the Green Bay fans is because as the Vikings were coming into the stadium on their bus, the fans were waiting for their bus and hundreds of Green Bay fans shot the moon to the Minnesota Vikings bus

Fact: The Vikings scored 31 points in all three of their meetings with the Packers that year. The difference of course was that the two regular season meetings ended with identical 34-31 scores in favor of the Packers (which was why this game was at Lambeau and not the Metrodome), while in the Wild Card game, the Vikings' defense was able to hold the Packers to only 17.
This was also only the second ever playoff loss the Packers suffered at Lambeau. The first came two seasons earlier against the Michael Vick-led Falcons, who also jumped out to a three-score lead early (21-0) and eventually won 27-7. In between these two losses, the Packers won the famous "we want the ball and we're going to score" game against their old coach Mike Holmgren.

TheLoneDraftsman i remember this way too vividly. I was in 6th grade, watched the packers game at home in solana beach, and was stoked for the eagles game. Went to my cousins house in murietta and watched the game while eating at buffalo wild wings. I couldnt finish my spicy garlic boneless wings because of the beating the vikes took. Crazy nostalgia

Went completely into the tank in the 2005 season, but a couple reasons why, OC Scott Linehan took the OC job in Miami. Owner Red McCombs was so cheap he wouldn't let Mike Tice hire another Coordinator. So offensive line coach Steve Loney was given the job, and he completely sucked at it. In 2005 the Vikings literally didn't have an offensive coordinator. Mike Tice eventually had to take over the play calling from Loney.

The Vikings also traded Randy Moss to Oakland after the 2004 season, breaking up the Culpepper/Moss duo that had been setting
offensive records for 5 years. Culpepper tried to be the whole offense and tore up his knee in week 2 versus Cincinnati. That pretty
much destroyed what had been a league-leading passing attack.
