Yes Barb - the Jelly Roll Sasher you see in this video is the ORIGINAL BLUE Jelly Roll Sasher designed by Pauline Rogers - it is not green in colour like the fake ones being circulated. The Sasher Collection Set in many different sizes is designed by Pauline Rogers and is printed in the Green see through Perspex (carrying her copyright and name), not the flat green colour (they are fake). Thanks for your support and advice to the public about the copyright issue.
Congratulations on reaching such a high number! I love the videos; they are so clear and concise, and all of the products I have ordered are outstanding. Thanks for being such a great company.
That's a clever idea to use some glue to hold the folder end down! Thank you for sharing this tip, and so glad you've been able to enjoy this tool! - Morgan
It looks like an old fashioned belt buckle when we made fabric belts to match our shirtwaist dresses! I wonder if I still have one (!) and whether it would be wide enough for the bulk!?
You can buy them in notions departments. Less pricey than this tool Plus if its metal the fabric should go through it more smoothy. But, that being said, lots of people like this gadget.
Oh, that's interesting, we didn't even think of that! Thanks for sharing that with us, we don't know if it would work the same way, but certainly something to try. Let us know if it works! - Morgan
Great little tool! I was intrigued by the foot on your machine, or seemed to have a side on it to help the fabric stay under the needle.??? I know Bernina uses #s (I have a 930) but what name does that foot have? I also sew on a brother as well
Yes! It's called a "Patchwork Foot with Guide" in the Bernina reference book. It's a #57D if you'd like to look it up and find something comparable. :) - Morgan
With the clip method you just but the strips up against each other and fold. this method does not seem to be working . i seem to have to start again with each strip. is there an easier way when you come to the next strip? I am making the placemats where the strips are not connected like in the rug.
What machine foot are you using? It looks, from what we can see, like it has a guide to help keep even and maybe a 1/4"?? I've got a BabyLock, but am curious if it's a universal-type foot. Thanks!
I first used those large snap hair clips to do this & they worked fine but I had to keep moving them. So, I spent $12.99 on one of these gadgets for another rug. It just didn't slide along as easily as it is shown over the 4 layers of batting & 4 layers of fabric. Am I doing something wrong? Edit to above comment: After watching the video again I figured out what I was doing wrong. Now, the snap hair clios are in a box & I love this tool.
Hello Ellen! We're not sure what could be happening there. Was your batting or fabric perhaps thicker than what we're using here (Katahdin batting and 100% quilting cotton). The clips work just fine, but like you said, you have to stop and move them when you run out. - Morgan
After carefully watching the video again, I see what I was doing wrong. I was attempring to pull the completely folded strip through the shaper, not just the first folds, where fabric meets in the middle. Well, duh. No wonder it wouldn't work for me!. I live it now! Thanks for a quick reply.
Oh, so happy to hear that it worked for you! It's so nice when things work out after a second try! Thanks so much for sharing that with us - maybe someone else will have the same question as you. - Morgan
Looks like a belt buckle to me. Also, a slide adjuster for a purse handle is the same thing as this. Just need to make sure the width is the same. They come in all widths. Both are a lot less expensive than this tool. Just a thought for those of us on a budget.
I thought something similar. When I saw it I thought it looked like my 3 vintage scarf clips! I'm going t try it with 2.5 strips I'm using to make mask straps....
Congratulations on the milestone. I am pretty new at quilting so I am still learning all the "languages" of quilts and quilting. Although I have some art training, I need to learn m ore about the way to pick the fabrics for a quilt. How do you tell what is considered dark, medium, light, medium dark, etc. I hope I can learn more about that here.
I believe the presser foot is the 97D Patchwork foot for our Bernina, but we do have the dual feed engaged, so it mimics a walking foot. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
That’s the #57D foot. It has the guide attached on the right We didn't change any of the standard settings on the machine to use it in this project. - Morgan
@@ShabbyFabrics yes. If fabric was not too thick. There are 3 in br kit. I still use clip when I weave my rugs now on frame and floor looms. Will make good belts and bag handles this way also.

Isn't this an Aunties Two technique? Aunties has been filling 2 1/2" fabric strips with batting for years. Patterns like Christmas Tree, Bailey Island Hobo Bag, Table Attire 3-Way, Bats In The Rug, Thimallina Bag to name a few. Shouldn't R J Designs come up with their own ideas?
We hadn't heard of Aunties Two before, but those sound like fun projects! This type of rug has been around for years. We'll look into those other projects! - Morgan
