We're so glad you've found the ruler useful! It's such a great tool! - Morgan
Thank you so much! I bought this ruler for a mystery quilt. The clue said to use the ruler but didn't say how to use it. Thank you for showing me how to. The Creative Grid ruler had the basics, but it helped so much having you show how to do it for a square-in-a-square block.
We are so glad you enjoyed this notion. Happy sewing! -Kristen
I've just bought one after watching this....the end of binding use for this sold me completely...I also bought the 60o triangle used in the bib video! Thank you!
We were sold immediately when we saw it's usefulness with binding! :) Thank you so much for watching and for ordering from our shop! We appreciate you and would love to hear about your projects! - Morgan

It's so much fun when you learn about a tool you already have! You're going to love all of the uses for this ruler! Thank you for watching. - Morgan
LOVE this ruler!
It is such a great tool!! - Morgan
you guys had so much fun while demonstrating the many virtues of this tool! Loved your enthusiasm. And the Bernina 1/4" foot it the best. I had a similar one (knock off), but the gate did not slide over the fabric. The Bernina foot has a spring, and it makes all the difference. I always use a leader--a great way to use scraps.
This ruler is so fun, we couldn't help it! ;) The leader is a great way to use scraps, and so helpful for sewing! Thank you so much for watching.
Oh my goodness! I've had my ruler for a couple of months now & just had the opportunity to make some new binding. I was shocked at how fast and accurate my binding joins finished out! What a time saver! Thanks for sharing this technique! Can't wait to try your other ideas!
So glad you enjoy this as much as we did! It's the best ruler!! Let us know if you have any questions as you try other ideas! - Morgan
I'm today seeing y'all and I will get one soon :)
We’re so glad you enjoy this fun notion! Thanks for watching 😍 -Michelle
I can totally attest to this tool...as a newbie...I mean a real newbie...was introduced to this in the sew along....LOVE LOVE LOVE it...can’t live without it!! Thanks Shabby Fabrics!!! 💖
We're glad to hear you're enjoying the Corner Clipper tool! We hope it makes learning to quilt even more fun. Thanks for watching! :) - Madison
Ordered the ruler. Like Jen you had me at the binding.
Thank you so much for your order! Everyone here in the office is buying these, too. haha. We can't wait for you to get it and try it! - Morgan
You had me at binding too! 😁 Amazing!
It's been a favorite tool for that reason alone!
I don't quilt yet, but the starter strip is a fantastic method I use now. It saves a ton of thread for me.. Great video!!
The starter strip is the way to go! It's so helpful, no matter what. Thank you for watching. Let us know if you have any questions when you do start quilting. We'll be happy to help! :) - Morgan

We agree with you! Why not make things easier and quicker for us?
That would be great for the rug tutorial. I just went to your website and ordered it, I definitely need it for binding. Thank you for the tutorial
So glad you liked it, and it really would be great for the rug tutorial! It's so handy for binding, and thank you for your order! We appreciate you.
My sister told me about this ruler, and after watching this video tutorial I immediately bought one. This ruler is AWESOME and such a timesaver!!!
We couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching. ❤️
- Beth
I did the binding trick with this tool and was totally amazed. Sewing binding together was faster, more accurate! Thank you for bringing this to light!
So glad to hear you liked it and it worked for you! Thank you for watching! - Morgan
Great tutorial Tammy and Jennifer. Thank you for introducing me to the Folded Corner ruler. I even bought one for s lady in a quilt store who had some hand trouble.
Glad you enjoyed this 😍 😎 -Michelle
I was sold just on the first part of the demo for binding and paused the video to place my order. I love love love creative grid rulers and I’m slowly replacing all my other quilt rulers with them.
That is amazing! We love them too! There are so many ruler types out there that we are still always learning how they can make sewing so much more fun! :) -Kyla
I just discovered I have this ruler. I bought it with a variety of others last year from a shop that used an accuquilt and didn’t need. I love it! I have an accuquilt also but I don’t own a lot of dies right now. This is perfect for all the pieced quilts I have been doing! Tickled I have it! ❤️❤️❤️
Yay! We're so glad you were able to find uses for this ruler! It's so much fun to realize you have something that is so helpful! Let us know how it helps with your piecing! We'd love to hear about your projects. - Morgan
OMG, I need one, love Shabby Fabrics!
We're glad you enjoy this fun ruler as much as we do! Thank you for watching! 💖-Michelle
Yay, it works! I couldn't see the exact sewing line Jen did so I was inaccurate in my sewing, but put on my 1/4" foot and it was clearer...corner to corner and was perfect. I tried 2 and 2 1/2" squares. The binding link livininpjs put on is fab, that is a real bonus for me, especially on small projects like mug mats! Love this tool😊👏🎉 Just made my first flying geese perfectly, woohoo!
Woohoo! We're so happy to hear that it worked well for you! We are loving this tool and happy to share it with you all! - Morgan
This is marvelous! Have to get now.
The Corner Clipper is such an amazing tool! Here's the link: www.shabbyfabrics.com/creative-grids-folded-corner-clipper-tool-cgrfcc-P71395.aspx
Thank you for watching! - Sophie
I sew but am new to quilting & applique. I have just bought one of these & just wanted confirmation of how to use it. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful! Let us know how your project turns out! - Morgan
I have this ruler and absolutely love it for cutting binding. Thanks for showing other ways to use the ruler. Sure wish I had watched this before I marked about 500 lines on squares last week!
We are sew glad you've been inspired. Thanks for watching! -Michelle
I just got mine and while I am liking it very much and definitely recommend it, I feel I should point out to fellow lefties that this is primarily for right-handed quilters. In order to use it left-handed, you either have to flip it over, putting the nonskid side facing up or have to “manipulate’ it. Thanks for the tutorials!
Thank you for the advice! I am left handed myself, and there are very few tools made for us left handed folks! :) -Kyla
Hi and thanks a lot for your demonstration, it really helps! 🌸🌸
Thank you for watching! ~Leah
Thank you very much!
You're so welcome! So glad you like it! - Morgan
I love my ruler. Thank you so much for showing how to use it. ❤

Hey shabby the TUTORIAL is 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Hey Fatima!! Thank you!
I just bought two. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to start a jelly roll rug.
Fun!! How did they turn out?? -Michelle
Yep, gotta have it!!😜
Haha! RIght?! All the girls at the office are buying these, too. We're hooked! - Morgan
Great video. I purchased one on vacation. Can't wait to try it
We absolutely love our Corner Clipper Tool! We're sure you'll enjoy it too! ❤️ -Michelle
Thanks for sharing these rulers I bought one n love it
We love these rulers too! Happy sewing! ~Leah
Thanks! I have this ruler for the biding. But I didn’t know for the flying geese!! I was afraid but not now andI register your video to remember!!
Glad we could help! - Yajaira
Loved this. I had a gift card so purchased the ruler.
We're glad you enjoy it! Thank you for watching!! 💖 -Michelle
A very encouraging video and a useful ruler. 😄
We're happy you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!! 💖 -Michelle
I avoid doing hst because of the fabric waste and time spent making them . But now I get this tool to do them.
We LOVE that this eliminates fabric waste and really makes things go so much more quickly! Hope you love this as much as we do!! Let us know how it works for you. - Morgan
Revelation! Of course I've only ever finished two quilts so far... but the second one I had a solid black for the binding, and when I was sewing them together, one strip I sewed together on the wrong side (since there is no right/wrong side with solids). If I had them cut out like this, it would be so much easier to avoid an issue like that (besides the obvious benefits). Thanks for the video Jen!
Oh, we've been there too! This really does help alleviate that problem, too, great point! - Morgan
This tool is excellent for joining binding ends.
It sure is!! Thanks for watching!! -Michelle
Thank you! I have this ruler by the same name but it's not by Creative Grids. Guessing they bought the rights to the ruler. Love it and if it mine were made by Creative Grids I'd love it even more as mine does not have their non slip feature.
It's a great ruler! And you're right that the non-slip feature makes it even better! We'll be getting the Creative Grids HandiGrabber notion (it's the tape that Creative Grids uses on the back of all of their rulers) soon, so you can add that to the back of the ruler you have to make it non-slip! Thank you for watching! - Morgan
Thank you..
Thank you for watching! - Sophie
Merci beaucoup de m"avoir répondu
Wow
😍😍😍 -Michelle
Why haven't I taken notice of this tool before? No more drawing lines just trim and they line up. Simple but effective and no more drawing lines . Perfect!
Isn't it great?! We love this tool! - Morgan
Fabulous and useful. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you liked it! It really is a useful ruler! Thank you for watching.
Sold!
You'll love it! - Morgan
I order that Yea!!!
How exciting!! We love our Corner Clipper Tool!! 😍 -Michelle
I want one!!!!!!!!
They are amazing, you won't regret it! - Morgan
Thank you Jen and Tammy, I’m a new quilter and I definitely need instruction on ruler usage 😊
Thank you so much for watching! - Morgan
Hi ladies! I just ordered my little corner ruler! So I was wondering if one doesn't have to worry about a scant 1/4 inch when using this ruler?
Love your tutorials, always lots to learn! Be well
Hi Sandy! We don't worry about a scant 1/4 inch when using the ruler and it's always worked very well for us! - Morgan
Love your video!!!!! Thank you. I will now not be so scared of sewing those things now. One question. What kind of Bernina machine are you useing?
Thank you so much for watching! No need to be scared! Anyone can sew! We're using a Bernina 770 Quilter's Edition. - Morgan
Looks so great! What sizes of HST can you cut and make with this ruler?
This will work to cut your HST up to 5". Thanks for watching! - Morgan
Same with Jen, I'm sold after that binding example! Oh and those HST's! Do you know how much time it takes to clip off the "dog ears" on HST's?? I love that there's no waste on the HST's too. Do you know many different size HSTs you could make with this ruler?? The full version of the snowball block (with all four sides), I call the "exploding block". Also, I'm like Jen again, I'd pin the fabric, 'cause I'm afraid it'll move too. ;) On my wish-list, to buy later.
You're going to LOVE this ruler when you do get it! You can make HST's up to 5 inches on this ruler! We like the "exploding block" name, that's cute! Tammy hardly pins, but Jen (and most of us around the office) are pinners, too! Thank you so much for watching. - Morgan
I would like note that this little ruler is superlative for joining your binding ends easily and professionally. Leave long beginning and ending tails as you normally would. Have quilt toward you and binding edge in front of you (right is where you began, left is where you are ending). Measure to cut: Fold back EACH strip so that there is a 1/4" gap between the folds. Cut left (or right) strip at fold. Open the cut piece as your measure and place on side you just cut--with the width going east/west as your measure guide. Overlap the uncut piece over the cut piece and clip at furthest measure of binding (overlapping width of strip). Cut. Now, miter with your tool. Unfold the right strip (I press) and make a hard right turn with strip face up. Unfold the left strip(I press) and place on top of the right strip so that both right edges and top/bottom edges align. ***Each is right side up.*** Cut with your folded corner clipper (practice in case you are spatially/directionally challenged) from bottom right to top left. Now you have two perfectly mitered pieces that you can sew without wondering which goes where. Now turn your right piece to lay on top of your left piece (make sure not twisted, the right piece fold line should be on the inside, not the outside) like you are joining normal binding strips. Sew on the edge. The small 1/4" gap on your initial measure gives just enough tension to help your binding lay perfectly flat. This little tool makes is so much easier to deal with these ends.
Hi Elle! What great instruction! Thank you very much for sharing! - Sophie
I miss Tammy she demonstrates items so well
Tammy is enjoying being semi-retired, but she still sews a lot of our beautiful samples! We will tell her you said hi! -Michelle
For cutting binding you say stack the strips right sides together, but you actually stack them right sides up????
Hi Sharon, You are actually correct! The strips should be stacked right sides up, not right sides together. I misspoke :) Thanks for watching ~ Tammy
Thank you Sharon as I didn't think it was right sides together
I have a folded corner clipper by Prairie sky quilting, did creative grids buy them out? I’ve had this ruler for a couple of years and use it all the time, I love it !
Yes, CG's bought the design recently. I have had mine since about 2013, the original of course. . love it
Yes! :) We've heard they've been around for a while, but we hadn't found them until recently, and now we're wishing we had them all along! Glad to have it now!
Shabby Fabrics I love to use mine for HST, no more drawing lines!
Would be nice if they would make them for bigger half square triangles!
We love the Corner Clipper! We do have some Star Single Templates that are very helpful for half square triangles. I'm not sure what size you're thinking but we have various sizes on our website! ~Leah
Great ruler! May I ask what brand the iron is?
So glad you like it! The iron is the Panasonic 360º Cordless. We've got it available on our website if you'd like to learn more: www.shabbyfabrics.com/panasonic-360-freestyle-cordless-iron-P67696.aspx
- Morgan
Love the tool for binding, but confess to being mathematically challenged. I am having difficulty converting cutting instructions for the standard stitch and flip method to be able to use this tool. Are there any patterns created specifically using this tool?
Hi Rhonda! Thanks for reaching out to us with your questions. If you are using the Folded Corner Clipper Tool the way that Jen and Tammy teach about it then you will be saving SO much time than the standard stitch and flip method alone. Since this tool is so versatile as we demonstrated in this video, we do use it for a lot of our projects. There are no patterns specifically created for this tool as it is applicable to many different block techniques. Here is a link to projects/patterns we have in stock that we recommend using the Folded Corner Clipper:
www.shabbyfabrics.com/Search.aspx?k=folded+corner+clipper+tool
Hope that helps! :)
- Beth
What size rectangle do you use for the flying geese? Not the sky square that was 2.5 I think. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
The rectangle size will depend on the project. Can you please tell us which project you are referring to? Additionally, the general rule for creating flying geese rectangles is that your rectangle will be twice as wide as it is tall. Hope that helps! 😍 -Michelle
I am getting confused on second side of the flying geese is there a way to tell if I have it in the right direction? Just read some one say if you are left handed which I am a Newly left hand, I lost my right hand in surgery. Still looking for anything you can give me on using this ruler
Hi Dolores! Thank you for watching our tutorial. The second side of the flying geese can definitely be tricky. One way you can tell that you have the right direction is by looking at the solid line that runs along the diagonal. That line indicates the 1/4 inch seam allowance that you will sew along. We would suggest making sure that line is going from the corner of your fabric to the middle of your fabric where the points come together. Please let us know if you have any more questions! - Karina
When you use the Creative Grids Folded Corner Clipper Tool, do you sew your seams w a scant 1/4” or a full 1/4”?
We sew with a full 1/4" seam allowance! - Morgan

What size strip do you use to make 2 1/2” HST...2 1/2” did not work for me 😬
I had problems too, with 2 1/2" strip and on the 2 1/2 line....I had little bits, but when I put on my quarter inch foot it worked perfectly as you then sew corner to corner! 2" strip for 2" squares. Try it!
Thank you Elizabeth! Merry Christmas! 🎄~Leah
Hello Kristine! Hopefully Elizabeth's comment was helpful! Let us know if you have any other questions! Merry Christmas!🎄~Leah
Just watching your You TUBE video over again. That tool is so amazing! Just wondering if you ship to Canada? What would the cost be to me? Creative Grids Folded Corner Clipper Tool #CGRFCC I have not seen this tool in our area.
Thank You
Hi Lynnette! We love the Folded Corner Clipper Tool! We do ship to Canada! I've included the link to our shipping policies for some more information! Stay safe! ~Leah

Where can I find Tammy’s Christmas Window panel
Hello! Are you referring to the video? or the Free Download? -Michelle
Why can’t you sew the binding just ends to ends? I’ve seen this often but not sure why it’s done this way. I’m a beginner quilter.
Dawn Loya if you see the strips end to end there is too much bulk, but if you see the ends at a 45 degree angle the bulk is distributed more, hopes that makes sense
Oh I see!! Thank you
Sometimes piecing your binding on the diagonal gives it a more finished look. It also makes it easier to hand stitch to the back if your seams are diagonal instead of vertical. Thanks for watching! - Tammy
😳
Thank you for watching! - Morgan
How about showing how to connect the binding together after you sew it on?
Thank you for watching! If you need help with bindings feel free to check out our Binding Basics Series here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/c3/bindings -Kristen
To use the folded Corner clipper and directions tell you to cut a 2 inch square to make flying geese do you need to cut the piece larger than the 2 inches? if you are cutting a 2 inch square to make flying geese the corner clipper cuts a 1/4 inch seam allowance , when doing this isnt the other half of the 2 inch square useess
Hello Kathy! Great question! It sounds like the pattern you are following is using a "stitch and flip method." Yes, you would use the tool the way you are describing it. There will be some waste. Alternatively, if you need multiple pieces you can cut a single strip and then use the corner clipper instead of sub cutting square first. - Yajaira
Can I use this tool to cut boxed corners?
You could possibly cut boxed corners with this tool--we haven't tried that yet. Let us know if you do! - Morgan
Why join them on an angle as opposed to straight?
Hi Michelle - That's a great question! We join our binding strips on an angle, because it makes the seam less noticeable when the project is complete. Hope this makes sense! -Michelle
On the binding instructions, you say “stack them right sides together” but you are stacking them all RIGHT Sides UP on top of each other.
Thank you for your feedback! - Sophie
C"est quoi la marque de votre machine a coudre ?
La marque de notre machine à coudre est Bernina 770 QE. Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé. -Michelle
Here after the clippers blew a 3-1 lead 🤣
Thank you for sharing! - Yajaira
Can you print the name of the ruler again
It's the Creative Grids Folded Corner Clipper. You can find it here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/creative-grids-folded-corner-clipper-tool-cgrfcc-P71395.aspx
- Morgan
You said put binding strips right side together, but it looked like you put them Wrong sides together??
Great catch. Tammy misspoke when she mentioned cutting the binding. As shown in the video, all strips will be layered right-side up (with right side to wrong sided). I hope this helped to clear up some of the confusion. 💖 -Bethany
Could the woman with the long hair just minimize her interjections? The tutorial could be half the length.
Thank you for sharing. - Yajaira
