Oh, my goodness, Krista!!!! I have been "attempting" to use this method to do binding for a few years and it NEVER worked well. The combination of the Folded Corner Tool and your excellent tutorial worked magic! My latest project turned out perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your method with us.
Krista, I've been quilting for 29 years and have always gotten confused when joining my binding ends. Now I watch this video every time I bind. It's fabulous!! Thank you!
Thank you! I’ve ruined the binding on several quilts. I could never figure out how to correctly end it. Now I can do finally and it successfully and the hint about sewing the back side if there was a little extra made all the difference ❤
Minute 3 is where you show us how to do that binding join!!! What a treasure! It is the first time I have even come close to understanding how to do that! ALL of this video is helpful, though, so thanks for doing this!!!
I’ve had this tool for years and used it for a class but don’t remember what class or what I learned so tried it after watching your video when sewing my binding pieces together and the last attachment of the binding and what a great way to make it SO much easier! I’ll be using this every time! Thank you!!!!
Game changer! I just discovered I had this tool in my ruler 'stash' and tried it for the first time today. It was soooooooo much easier than the other tool I've been using for years. Definitely a new favorite! Thanks for sharing this, Krista.
It will be my "go to" method from now on! I am working on binding my Champagne and Pearls quilt (from your 2022 class at Road to California), then it will be on to binding my Summer Swag quilt. I also just finished (finally) Snowflake Lane and will deliver that to the quilter as soon as my backing comes in. Do you think I'm a bit of a "Krista addict"? I was just at a local retreat and another gal was working on Licorice and Lollipops - I also have all the fabric for that! Sew much fabric, sew little time! Thanks for everything. You are an amazing quilter, an amazing teacher, and an amazingly fun and talented person!
I have an "Easy Angle" ruler that looks very similar to the one used in the video. I just tried it to join strips and it worked great. Thanks for all you share.
The folded corner clipper ruler and your video have made the joining of the binding easy….well sort of as I’m still a beginner quilter. I too watch your video each time I am finishing/joining binding and it’s a smooth process with a perfectly joined seam. Per your video, I also use the ruler for joining binding strips. Thank you.
I have used this method so many times with the corner clipper thanks to your vides. The camera views are great and it is really clear how to do it. It works out perfect every time. Thank you. Libby from Quakertown.
Krista thank you for showing this tool trick it has changed my attitude about doing my binding!!!!! My friend just shared this video with me about a month ago!!!!
Used this little darling for the first time today and I’ll never do borders or bindings any other way again. This will be forever in my quilting toolbox. Thanks Krista!
Great video. I love the folded corner clip for all my tiny folded corned like 1-2.5 in or Tiny HSTs, but glue in seam. Perfect every time. I had been using the border and binding joins, but this is another use I must try. You’re an excellent instructor. I’m sharing this with my local sew groups on Facebook and asking them to subscribe to your great content.
Great demo! That tip about flipping the quilt over for that final seam is so helpful. I often have a little tuck in the binding at that spot. I'll have to remember to flip my quilt. Thank you!
Awesome....I love this and headed to buy right now.,.your wonderful and make things so easy by watching your videos....ty so much...I appreciate you and your skills that you share with us....
I don’t know how I missed this tutorial BUT this really makes that join so logical. It usually takes me at least a couple of times to get my brain in gear to join that last bit of binding. A big thanks for sharing your method.
This is indeed a fabulous tool and I’ve used it many times for my binding strips. Thank you for the added tutorial on how to join the two ends so beautifully once the binding is on the quilt! Now I have another great use for this tool. Thank you!!
Thank you, Krista! For the first time I was able to get the two ends matched up just right the first time and without frustration! Very clear, precise directions with video feed that actually shows clearly how my pieces should be positioned!
Thank you Krista!!! This is the only way bringing the binding strips together has made sense to me!! That step was so frustrating for me! I’m getting that ruler! 🥰
Love it ... couldn’t remember what I bought the ruler for and wasn’t sure what to do with it. Thank you so much for your very clear and precise tutorial. It will make finishing up the binding so much easier. Thanks again!
OMG! That looks fantastic! I swear I have to sew up that binding join and take it out 3 or 4 times before I get the angle right. Sew frustrating!! LOL Thank you so much for showing me this tool!
Best Binding Join Tutorial Ever!!!!!! I struggle every time joining the ends, twisting this way turning that way. This is simple and easy. Thank you for the Tips and Tricks 😁.
Great Video! FYI, that piece that you trimmed off when you were prepping the final binding join? If you open it up and place the fold line 90° to the fold in the binding on the quilt, you can use that cutoff binding piece to guide how much your overlap should be, i.e. you don't need to measure.
I agree best binding join ever. I hated binding anything because OF THIS ONE STUPID STEP..YOU ARE AWESOME...and I have the ruler already! I am a fan 4 life!
Fast becoming a favorite ruler! I especially love joining ALL the binding strips together and of course that final step... And all my half square triangles... Use this rule almost every day... Thanks Krista!!
I agree! We have a very simple camera system, but we are investing in new tech all the time and hopefully a system that will allow that kind of remote camera control is not too far in the future!
Krista, I want to thank you for this how-to video. The best I have seen. Some of the other ones used dark fabric and it was difficult to see how to complete. Thanks again!!!! Sue
Thank you! This is the best explanation for the part of making a quilt that always makes me sweat!! LOL! Is there a way to flag favorite videos to find them quicker when needed?
Thanks Krista! You make it so plain, simple, and straightforward, speeding up the process pertaining to binding, which makes it fun, thanks again! BTW, I love your rulers and patterns, heck, I love all (my growing collection) CG Rulers and Patterns!
Excellent tutorial! I just finished attachng my binding to my quilt, and after all of the quilts that I have made, this is the FIRST TIME I have binding that I am actually happy with. Purchasing this ruler (along with my other Creative Grides rulers) was a wise investment. Thank you for this video tutorial!!!!
I have been using the Binding Tool which has worked fairly well for me but DANG! this is going to be PERFECT. I am sure it will be my new best favorite! Thank you for the great tutorial.

Krista-- love your tutorials, am making the City Girl Chevron. Using the Corner Clip binding tool, I get how you notch the one end of the binding strips. In which direction do you notch the other end of the strips? I have 7 strips to see together so both ends need to be notched. Thanks.
You can notch them any direction and even do them opposite on each end of the strip! I would lay the first two strips that you want to join together with both sides facing up and cut them together, that way each end will be notched the way it will fit with its partner strip. Then move on to the other end of strip number two and match it up with strip number three the same way.... I hope all that made sense!
Absolutely fantastic tips, always get mixed up and this is so going to make my least favourite part of quilting fo very smoothly in future. Thank you so much xx

Hi Kewana! That is not actually a pattern at all... I just made up the blocks as I went along :) I did a couple blogs about parts of the process though and you can find those in my blog archives!
Hmmm, so the Creative Grids version is more expensive in the UK than it is in the US? I know there are half square triangle rulers that are similar, so you might do a wider search for those to see what comes up!
@@kristamoser Yes much more expensive as they have to come from the USA I think. BUT I have now found a similar one for £4.99 by Liquidraw (instead of £34!!) which should arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait!
