I’m watching this video because I’ve just bought this ruler. I knew about from watching other video of yours where you were using this ruler. Barely wait to use it. 🤗
I bought this ruler after dealing with lymphedema in my right arm after radiation. And I love it! It allowed me to continue my quilting projects with beautiful results! I now use it as my go-to ruler for strip- cutting. It never fails to produce precise cuts. Thank you for a great product!
I never comment on anything, but I’m making an exception for this ruler. I love to sew, and I like making quilts. Unfortunately, I am a terrible cutter, despite my best efforts. I’ve tried every ruler out there, including other slotted rulers, and I’ve still had inaccurate results. As such, I have several quilt kits that I’ve never begun because I dread the cutting process. The Creative Grids Non-Slip Stripology has changed my life. Over the past few days, I’ve easily cut out accurate pieces for my quilt. I wish this ruler could handle any size strip. When I had to leave the ruler to trim 5” squares down to 4 ⅞ “ squares, I used the Itty Bitty Eights XL Rectangle ruler, but my squares were still off. I’d love to see a 7/8ths line added to the Stripology ruler to move it and cut pieces into 7/8” increments like using it to cut 1/4” increments. Now that this ruler has removed most of my cutting stress, I will finally make all of those beautiful quilts that I’ve been avoiding! Thank you for this beneficial video!
Thank you I forgot I could square up my 12 ?12 squares that I just did with my other rulers. :( OK I have your post card in front of me on my table along with your ruler that is always on the table to remind me going forward.Thank goodness for You Tube where I can watch you do what I need to do with my fabulous ruler.
I just got mine today. What a great tool for those of us who quilt. It was expensive, but I think in the long run I will save some money cutting my own strips. Hardest part is picking out the fabrics that go together.
“Fabric Cafe” has 3 yards kits and patterns for how to do those. All fabrics are coordinated and shown in videos, so you see what you buy. Just watch few of their videos here to see what they are about. Good luck !
This was incredible! One thing you helped me with was understanding why I get elbows when I fold my fabric. I could not figure out how to fix that! Now I know and this ruler is going on my wish list!
I love this ruler. I place a weight (antique irons are great) on it to keep it securely in place. No tool provides better accuracy and productivity in the sewing room in my view.
This has to be one of the greatest quilting rulers on het market. I have owned the XL and Square rollers for a while now and to be honest it wasn't until I made one of Gudrun's quilt patterns that I understood just how amazing these rulers are. I am sure that these will be my "go-to" rulers for all future quilts!
Seedstitch13 I gave the original to my husband as he took up quilting a few months ago. We were always wanting the Stripology Ruler at the same time. So I ordered the new, large one. I like it because it is wider, which I was wishing for. Love these rulers so much.
@@joydicksonquilts Thanks Joy!! Hubby told me to get one but I was dragging my feet because of the price. I want to make sure it's worth it before committing. Cheers! ~M
Thank you for helping me learn how to use this ruler. I will give it a try. Question, is there a particular ruler you can recommend to help make star legs. Mine are also wonky and just don't line up. Thank you. Terry
I just got my stripology xl, so excited my hubby said you spent how much, I told him it was money from my daughter for mothers day. I already cut 2 1/4 strips messed up lined up the quarter inch wrong, but figured out. But now I want to square up 10 1/4 inch not sure how to do can you explain please thanks
I just ordered one of these amazing rulers. I still wonder where the measurement point is on each line. I assume its the centre of each line, which means we have to pick to always align with the bottom edge of all lines or the top edge of all lines (or left edge or right edge) when cutting in the same direction. If anyone here has the ruler in their hands, it would be great to know if I'm correct with this or not.
Love your style! I bought the ruler, patterns and arrow stickers! I loved them so much, that I bought a pack for my friend. The hardest thing about the ruler is storing it, so it does not bend. So any tips on that? 😍
I have a peg board in my sewing room that I keep my cutting rulers hung on, as well as my rotary cutters- out of of the grandkids reach! I’m grateful for the set up to allow it. Prior to that, I had it in a large zip up travel bag for rulers and mats I bought at joAnns that I tucked between the wall and my sewing desk when not in use to protect it. (Before grands) ;) you could also put it under a guest bed along with the cutting mat. I’ve heard of a lady storing her cutting mat between a spare mattress and box springs, I suppose it could go there too! Perhaps she was hiding her sewing purchases in general now that I think on that one… but I digress. Funny aside anyway… 😂 I do love my stripology ruler and I hand her proudly! Thanks for the video on all the additional things to be done with it than stripping!
I’ve visited your website and would like to buy one but as a new quilter I don’t know which one to get.... Also I’m a bit confused with measurements. If the pattern asks for 2 inch square do you cut a 2 1/2 inch square to allow for the seams?

Hi. Just to say I love the ruler. One question I am working a quilt that calls for blocks to be cut at 3 7/8 and 6 7/8’s, is it possible on the Stripology ruler? Thank you🙏
I think there is no easier or more accurate way to cut fabric. Btw, you must have a level flat table or countertop surface. I had a little trouble with my cuts being a tiny bit short. Lay gently, don't stretch the fabric and be certain your cutting table isn't slightly concave when you press down on it.
Hello Rolla! We list all the supplies used in a video in the description box underneath the video: www.fatquartershop.com/creative-grids-non-slip-xl-stripology-ruler
I cannot line up these blocks from left to right in the half inch section no matter what I do. I end up in tears because I cannot figure it out. I have read everything and watched everything. I must just be stupid.
I hope I figure it out soon, but when I place my rotary cutter in the teardrop and proceed to cut through, I’m not getting to the fabric. Some partial cuts but other than that, it’s not making it through. Rewatching video for angle - still not getting through - concerned that repeated tries are damaging the ruler. Changed blade on rotary cutter too. Yikes.
This is exactly my problem. It will not cut a full strip. Someone here mentioned it can't be used on a table that is not perfectly flat. I noticed my table depresses a bit when I put pressure on it, so I may dig out the ruler again, and try it on a flat board, or something. I was so sad I couldn't get it to work.
