That's a Badass Mustang...But I gotta give to the plaid. Tesla has done a truly amazing job here. It's unbelievable to see a sedan heavier than a ford explorer run 9.2 s with just only 1000hp. Those electric cars are insane
Have to agree. Electric or gas, moving a 5,000 brick to 60 mph in around 2 seconds flat, the 1/4 in low 9s, and on street tires to boot is some very impressive engineering
@@DragRacingandCarStuff was that a stock motor or a full on BUILT race motor in the Mustang?....I imagine it was FULLY BUILT, how about you?....Can't wait until Tesla takes off the 163 MPH speed limiter for their full potential 200MPH top end!

Hey those are some sick mustangs man, it's really cool to see a close race like the second one, i guess it would be a great contender for a race with the gutted Tesla Plaid, congrats to teams behind these machines.
I've been hoping for a nice tight race with a Plaid! Was great to see.
@@DragRacingandCarStuff yeah man, this was a really good one, great to watch the two cars flying to the finish line :)
Tesla has to peddle it to not get banned. They easily do 9.1 at 167 in a quarter but strips ban them for going over 150 without cage and chute. Have to sandbag it so gas cars don't get smoked every time out. Try Tesla Plaid channels and DragTimes to see the truth about the Plaid ability to embarrass gas cars. also 5000 pounds with driver

There seems to be so much hate on one vehicle or the other. EVs are amazing, ICE cars are amazing. It's all about preference but to hate a vehicle because it doesn't use fuel or to think a plaid is the best car ever and can't be beat is stupid to say the least. I have always admired any car that performs well and the potential of it. To hate or dislike a vehicle because of the manufacturer is silly. I know it will never change but I've never understood it.
The plaid is a quick car but in the drag racing world it isnt the quickest car.
EVs will destroy racing....because you can't modify them to run faster.
Uh yes. The Tesla is absolutely the fastest car on a drag strip. But once you go modifying a car it's actually not the same "car" anymore is it? You can make a Power Wheel faster than a Ferrari with enough mods 😐
@@richystar2001 atleast now
preference wont matter when gas becomes $19 a gallon
@@infiniterer287 When you put bigger turbos on a GTR or a turbo kit on a Lamborghini, it doesn't become a different vehicle, it is still the same car with modifications. A 2500awhp GTR is still a GTR, it is still the same car that person bought, it's just modified. What you are trying to say it isn't a stock vehicle or how it came off of the production line. That is true but it doesn't mean the Plaid is even close to the fastest or quickest car at a drag strip. Running a 9.2-9.4 is very respectable, and producing 1000+ hp from 60-200 is great also but there are plenty street cars that produce more and would have no issue with a Plaid. Wait for TX2K22, the Plaid would be nothing in Houston.
Based on your logic, any Plaid owner that has changed their wheels or tires are no longer driving a Plaid because they have modified their car.
Lastly, you can not make a Power Wheel faster than a Ferrari that runs. It will come down to power, tires, traction, gearing and aerodynamics. There is 0 chance any Power Wheel will be able to have enough power, gearing or aerodynamics to travel 150+mph, enough traction to hold the torque, or enough tire to have traction. Plus you're talking about a plastic toy with 7 inch tires. Now if you were to make a chassis designed to have a bigger engine, larger tires, transmission etc. Then yes, that isn't the same car because you built the whole car. That's just like saying a top fuel Camaro is a Camaro. It isn't, it is just the "body" of one on a tube chassis.
holy shit that s550 gets off the line like crazy
Coyote is king!
excellent
Man this is the 2nd video I've came across a modded Mustang beating a Tesla Plaid in the 1/4 mile! Never been a huge mustang guy but gotta give respect when its due!
Yeah, too bad the Mustang needed a FULLY BUILT MOTOR and ET SLICKS among other things. The Plaid was STOCK. Again find something STOCK and cheaper than 150K that can best it. That's the point of the Plaid. Sure a highly modded car can beat it. No one is denying that.
@@user-zf1ol7op7y Whoa guy...why are you so worked up? Nobody here said the Plaid was slow...I'm merely giving props to the 2nd mustang I've seen beating Tesla's fastest car. @@H.S.H.M. I'm not worked up nor did I say that someone said the Plaid was slow. I clearly stated that it took a car that basically had to be rebuilt and special racing tires put on it to beat it. What's impressive is apples to apples but that's just me.

when a speed limited stock daily is doing that kind of damage and gets to drive home without tear down and trailer prep, imagine what will happen when the EVs start actually tuning more. respekt
what damage? u need a full charge to have full performance in the Plaid. by the time u done racing u be charging ur car for another 40+ minutes that's if u found a super charging station, while I'm already home watching TV
@@notchit3542 Damage meaning getting beat with a wire hanger and putting the legacy junk to shame. No need to supercharge. I can charge in my garage while watching tv while you stand around at a gas station breathing in cancerous fumes. I'll take The Tesla over having to rebuild an engine that just sacrificed itself trying to pretend its still relevant. Tesla FTW as it can pull 8.98s. ICE needs nitrous, trans diff gear swap, turbos and all kinds of work before its taking in a plaid even at 80% charge - all just to reroute air pressure like an 1865 steam engine. 🤦 The tesla isnt even uncapped and its doing this. insane. theres a reson dealers don't sell modded cars like this. too many warranty claims

👻 got a fox body Mustang (1/4 mile car) in the driveway and just picked up the Plaid 2 weeks ago. Love my mustang but….. the Plaid can go ALL DAY LONG flat out race after race and not worry about the motor exploding on me 😂🤣🤣… y’all know I’m right. Great race though. 👻

@@rrolf71 LMFAOOOOOO
Actually, no, the battery runs down and as the % goes down, so does its performance.
In a combustion engine you can be in the last line of fuel and it will still perform like it has a full tank.
But for sure, electric motors are les likely to explode lol
@@JV8901 👻that’s my point…. But also, the new plaid does something that the previous versions didn’t do. It run 9’s in the 1/4 mile all day long down to 10% battery (I’ve already proven this point in my own Plaid on the track). The previous versions definitely lost power as the battery got drained. This plaid holds that performance. Loses about maybe a .10-.20 when it’s REALLY low but that’s about it. Still in the 9’s though. It’s better than having to feed my car dry ice on a hot day to make it down the track lol lol lol. Heat or cold this thing is a beast. (Mic drop, your turn 😬) 👻
Why is the Mustang braking before the end of the finish line?
The track has a trap speed limit per safety equipment if he breaks it he will be sent home
Bracket racing. You can't run quicker than your time, or you "break out" and lose. In the case of the Mustang and the Tesla, it was a 9.10 bracket.
I'm sure that was a 8 second Mustang
The plaid is no joke if it was gutted your looking at 9.08 sec on each pass, edit props to to both drivers.
It would probably still lose to this mustang since he had to brake to not break the mph limit in that bracket race, but a 9.0 1/4 mile for the tesla would be awsome, can't wait to see drag times do it, or this channel.
and there are 900hp awd civics doing 8 seconds still with its stock interior
With lighter, next gen batteries like solid state or aluminum ion batteries, it will significantly help with the weight..

Love the people comparing a trailored car to a daily driver. 1 car will last 200k miles while capable of running 9s, which you will see on highways and red lights, while the other car only turns for a track race and still breaks 1 in 5 passes. Im mopar for life, dad races a 1050 horsepower 1972 demon, but we need to admit the electric cars are pretty solid :/
They are solid. Anyone who races regularly is very impressed with an EV going out week after week and running mid to low 9s, or even 10s for that matter (my friend Andrew has over 1,000 timeslips on his 2019 Tesla). It is impressive for sure.
Hate to break it to ya, that is a totally street turbo mustang, there are way faster turbo cars than that ,and street driven not trailered
Yea 5000 for another coyote motor though. How much are plaid motors? How long do they last?
You aint getting half of that performance after two years wtf😂😂
Wooohoooo! Damn that first Mustang was ****** quick! He was even braking before the line!
Hehe, ans someone was whining the other day about Tesla's ruining everything. 🙄
Just to remind you, while certainly not a cheap car, we´re seeing a standard off-the-assembly-line Model S Plaid here. As in, a car that can torch high power performance cars one minute and go on economically optimised long-range trips or your average daily commute the next at the press of a button.
Yea but no spectator wow factor.

You gotta have more HP then the Tesla and be able to put it down to beat it
Have to agree with you, in most cases. That being said, if you have the suspension and launch down, then an S550 like this one should have around a 1,000 lb weight advantage. That being said, putting it down as consistently as a Plaid is able to is another story.
@@DragRacingandCarStuff I agree with you. If you've been around drag racing a for awhile, you know the power to weight means more than power alone. That mustang could be making 100hp less but weigh 1000 pounds less and has enough traction to cut a good 60'. The biggest determination of power would be to see how much mph he picked up on the big end.

I can't believe for the life of me that folks are still surprised by a electric car going fast. 🤦♂️ I guess folks never built a RC car before. Okay I will say this Tesla's are some fast mofos but you can make a car go faster if you put Go fast parts on a combustion engine
you can hack EVs to go faster. It's just not popular yet since most people don't know about it and most buyers are not racing enthusiasts.
I’m not a fan of EVs. First of all, they make no sound, and that’s a big part of the visceral experience of driving to me. Secondly, they’re not engaging. The computer is doing all the fancy traction management to all 4 wheels and managing everything for you. Lastly, you can’t wrench on them, which is a big hobby for me. Tesla doesn’t let you even buy parts for your own car to work on it. What’s the fun in that? I want to teach my kids how thing work like my dad taught me, and with an iMac on wheels that really isn’t possible anymore.
good to know but nobody cares
@@moistydoooood You may not care, but a lot of enthusiasts share my opinion and that is relevant in trying to market EVs to my demographic.
@@SuzukiKid400 hey-i didn’t ask thanks
@@moistydoooood you’re welcome
I'm not gonna deny a Tesla is fast, but it does nothing for me. Even the EV dragster Ford is running does nothing for me. But I'm not here to rain on the EV crowds parade. All the flaming needs to die down. Ppl need to realize that we need to fight for everyone's side in this because if not the govts gonna choke these EVs down and make them geared towards mileage and less on performance. Petrol and electric can coexist folks......
My boyfriend loves his tesla, he said there's something with these cars that helps him express his feminine side🥰 tesla forever hubby #LGBTQ
😐 there is nothing "feminine" about 1000 horsepower monster. He must have the model 3?
@@infiniterer287 Me and my hubby have the model S not the plaid (i love how it's pronounced) but its enough to bring the skittles out of our bloodstream. Nothing feminine about loud obnoxious cars with out dated clutch pedals, yuck😑 believe me we in the hood if you see a bunch of teslas park outside of a salon. #Tesla #LGBTQ
@@melvinmeligrito4103 so quietness is your qualifier for feminine? Sounds like the complete opposite of females in real life 🤔
@@infiniterer287 that is soooow true lol that's why I don't have one. but I didn't say tesla is quiet in fact it sounds like a japanese p0_n everytime I floor the rainbow pedal
Your joke post isn't funny
Finally plaid not bragging praising themselves running , high 9 low 10 second cars lmao , and by the way there are way faster cars than than 9.10 turbo stang on the streets totally daily driveable tesla fanboys wanna brag because they wanna pick on 700 to 900 rwhp gas cars. And the tesla junk with 1,000 instant torque and power awd electric.like i said all you can mod an electric will never touch an all out turbo car. Fact
turn key Telsa against a Mustang that will blow up after 3 runs.
Funny, my street legal supercharged '90 Fox body stroker will eat that $129k Tesla's lunch, and it hasn't seemed to have blown up yet And I could have two more just like it for the price of one Plaid.
I can fix my car, no one but Tesla can fix a Tesla, Elon will threaten to l brick your car if you try to.
@@iknklst I'm sure you'll be posting videos of that real soon........ waiting.....
@@todda2026 Watch videos of Summit Midwest Drag Week, you'll see my car if you do.
Plenty faster than me there and they also cost way less than any $129k Tesla.
I love these fossil fuel driven machines. But a couple more years these fossil fuel engines will unfortunately be left in the dust in a race by battery power cars.
Looks like the Tesla didn't even get to go into cheetah mode which sucks
If the EV version of the Mustang can't beat a Tesla ....nobody will buy it....at least you can modify a ICE mustang that will beat a Tesla plaid today ...but its impossible to modify an EV...Ford, Chevy, Dodge will lose sales and bankrupt those companies..Because Chinese EVs will be able to outperform these brands for half the price. Car sports and racing will be finished in 2030.
Lol this will be a fun comment to come back to in the 5-10 years.
Made in China EVs? No thank you! LMFAO
The Tesla is peddling it because they do a 9.1 at 167 quarter mile and drag strips ban that without chutes and cages like the gas powered turds racing them. Gas is over
Fast mustangs are rare to spot these days
I see driving that slow Chevy you’ll never spot them they just fly past you in a blur huh? In a video you can slow it down I guess
Well.. they are notoriously known for hitting crowds of people in a blink of an eye. I believe it’s 0-10 people per 2.5 seconds. That is fast!
