I caught a different channels video of hoof repair, and it was heartbreaking. They had no patience for the cows. The respect you show for the animals is amazing. Not everyone cares enough to be gentle and empathetic. 💙

Absolutely! I say it regularly. Other ppl r so rough and impatient. It's heartbreaking, but it is also so maddening. Graeme cud seriously teach the world a thing or 2
@FeyWyldPagan I know it's been a while but...Besides Graeme, there's only one trimmer worth watching that I've found and that's Aaron LeVoy. Style is a lot like Graeme's. Two don't talk about what's wrong or anything and 1 of them don't model at all, unless there's a problem!
I'm so glad that a veterinarian is always consulted absolutely whenever one of the cow's hoofs has got infection or an anomaly of any health-threatening kind.
it's not that the vet is consulted, it's that Graeme isn't licensed to do anything other than hoof trimming, that's it, the vet HAS to be brought in for anything other than trimming
I would just like to make an observation about Kevin. Since his return from surgery, his face looks at least 10 years younger than when he first started appearing in the videos regularly. As a person who lives with chronic back pain, I never cease to be amazed by how much pain can affect a person’s appearance. The level of pain which he was living with prior to the surgery must have been next level. And he probably didn’t even realize it until after he had the surgery. So God Bless to the surgeon who was able to correct Kevin’s medical condition as well as any other person who facilitated that surgery. So glad you’re on the road to recovery!
That is a very true observation. I suffered with acute gall bladder pain for two years before an operation and people commented to my wife how old (and sort of yellow) I looked.
Been dealing with chronic back pain from a herniated disk for two years. It’s been bad the last 6 months and magically went away. Your life does get much better without chronic pain.
I love the fact that you do not cover up mistakes or surprises and try to act like you knew this all along. Also that you know your job and dont try to do more than you should. You also explain it so we understand your reasoning. You make an excellent teacher. I'm sure the farmers really appreciate your carefulness and kindness that you show the cows and that you let them know that a vet is required. Another great video. Alberta 🇨🇦.
That little accidental graze really highlights all the other times you clarify that you haven't nicked the corium, that little nick had a completely different reaction and shows how delicate and careful you are, fab job! Also that laugh midway through was the best 😂
Graeme's wasn't at fault really. The flesh would have been so fragile with the inflammatory reaction that it was just laying like the skin on a rice pudding over the mass of puss that it was about to burst out anyway.
@@brianthesnail3815 I know he wasn't at fault, just pointing out how the nick reacted differently to other videos where there's infection and it bleeds much easier, highlighting how Graeme's point holds that he very rarely nicks the corium :)
I appreciate the transparency and honesty so much. One little nick in hundreds would be easy to edit out, but owning those little moments and the encouragement you give must motivate your students and keep moral high during the learning process!
Graeme...when you crack up, you crack me up! Another great vid. Who knew a 65 year old widow living alone would need cow hoof trimming vids to bring her alot to smile about!

I live near a dairy farm that I don’t often drive by but today we did and there must be thousands of cows and although I’ve live here for 18 years, never once have I wondered about their hoof care. Today I did. What have you done to me. I love your videos and your banter with Craig and Kevin. Thank you for paying for the surgery that Kevin needed he looks 10 years younger, and is pain free. You are a good man💕
50 years ago, I had a friend who became a farrier. These and the horse hoof trimming videos bring him to mind. Makes me wonder what became of him. Lost track when he went off to farrier school and he and my friend broke up.
I found your channel accidentally only yesterday. I have absolutely nothing to do with cattle in my own life, apart from the odd milkshake and cheeseburger. However, I've really enjoyed learning about your work. I never knew how much care had to go into their feet. It makes me happy to see how dedicated your team is to the comfort of these animals. More impressively, your positivity and joy in life are contagious. Though I feel slightly queasy over some of your content, you make me feel like I'm in good hands, and I can tackle any of my own challenges with ease and success. Thanks so much for the motivation!
There’s something so wholesome about the way you praise the farmers who are doing good husbandry work. It’s funny that what is often a pretty gruesome process can be, like, soul-enriching content, but I think that speaks to your personality and values! Keep it up ❤
The fact that you and Jack are both pretty damn good trimmers means these cows will be maintained to an absurdly high standard. Both your routine visits and his interim maintenance will combine to make it impossible not to. This farm will probably have the lowest rate of lame cows in Scotland in a year.
So @thehoofgp, is it fair to say that Jack has trimmed her more like a horse by dropping the heels a bit far down and leaving her toe longer? (Sorry jack - as a positive - Jack was my grandfather's name - bloomin good horseman)
Wow that was a mess, sometimes things happen for a reason and you cutting into it a wee bit too far was a blessing in disguise. She's definitely on the road to feeling better now. You're the best, man. ♥️🐄
This just goes to show how important final check are. I’ve worked as a mechanic before and after making sure whatever preventative maintenance or repairs are finished we’d still do a complete check of the equipment’s operations. Sometimes the problem we fixed was just covering up another problem.
I'm sitting in rehab after surgery and wish you could relieve my pain as easily as you do theirs. I'm in sympathy with these girls and understand how good they must feel after being seen by you and the relief you bring. Thanks on their behalf.
I hope that you heal fast, I've had a lot of surgeries since I was a child mostly opened from just under my breasts down to my pubic area so I feel for you. I use mindfulness and distraction to cope with the pain that I have all the time now along with painkillers. Look after yourself. Xx
Cool to see your reaction to the abscess opening up. The fact that it surprised you, with your experienced eye, highlights the unusual nature of this case, making it all the more gratifying to be exposed to.
I live in a city, nowhere near farms and cows, but yours is one of my absolute favourite channels. I've learned a ton about cows and farms and seeing some beautiful footage of the Scottish countryside is such a bonus. You, Craig & Kevin are so incredibly likeable, funny, and great to watch. Thanks for sharing your world.
The OCD in me fights anxiety when he starts on a hoof without cleaning the entire hoof & being free to work without feces but that's just me and it's clear he knows exactly what he's doing!! He does such an amazing job & it shows that he cares!!!!
It helps me when I think of how dry debris will crumble off and be easier to clean off compared to wet muddy debris which will stick and get everywhere
I would not be able to have this job for the sole reason that I would spent an hour on only cleaning up each cows legs i can't stand when they work with infections and all without fully cleaning it. Even if its more logical.
Having had a whole load of abscesses, including, but certainly not limited to, one on the root of a tooth (unbeknownst to the dentist who was drilling into it to repair a cracked tooth. Despite a ton of local anaesthetic, it put me through the roof! Had to have strong antibiotics before I could go back!); a potentially lethal one on the top of my leg (in hospital for an op less than a week before taking the kids on holiday.); and almost as gruesome as the tooth one - which after me biting down hard "exploded" into my mouth 🤢- was one inside my eyelid. It was there for a few years! Eventually I was casually rubbing my eye when the right half of my eye turned a creamy colour... I get how painful or just how annoying the damned things are. Whenever I see one pop on this channel, I breathe a huge sigh of relief. The cow may still be a bit sore for a while, but that's exponentially better than having to put much of your weight on a "full" abscess. I'm sure they're given antibiotics afterwards to make sure that all the bacteria are gone, but it's that initial pop which makes all the difference!
@y_fam_goeglyd. I’ve had several abscesses too (6), including one that had me in the hospital for a week. Painful when they’re being drained but immediate relief thereafter.
My cat has an abscess from infection by her anal gland rn, and she did such a good job of carefully but consistently licking it that she actually drained it herself and immediately clearly got HUGE relief from that. I’m having to monitor its healing on vet orders and the sight makes me want to hurl because I’m seeing stuff that should be covered by skin, but coincidentally I came across these videos, which … make me feel queasy but less so, almost like practice? It’s not quite like her abscess, I’m pretty sure I can literally see either lower layers of skin or muscle there, but the mild gore and pus here delicately being cared for feels like it might help me acclimatize a little!
I've been a consistent viewer for over a year now, and I think this is the first time I've seen you actually graze a cow. No shame in that at all, it's bound to happen every once in a while, but now that I've seen what a graze looks like, it is all the more obvious how different it looks than all the times that a cow's hoof is producing the red stuff on it's own. A new learning expirence for us!
Love the video Graham - quick correction, a fistula is an abnormal connection between two places/organs that shouldn't be there. Only known this because I suffered from one that took 3 years and 16 surgeries to fix!
Fistulas are basically a tract. They can connect two places/organs. Or they can just be a tunnel out. Look up enterocutaneous or atmospheric fistulas ( they are like the manhole up out of the sewer system)
Wow- a friend of mine had a lot of surgeries for his legs because the bones with twisted into the wrong position , but I don’t think he’s gone all the way up to 16!
Great video! I love your total honesty. It's so refreshing and we learn so much more than if you glossed over events. The updates are brilliant because we feel included (us armchair trimmers!). The cows are lucky to have you and Kev...and Jack!
Had awful abscess on my tooth. Molar. Hurt so damn bad I could barely speak. I got tired of the pain. I lanced it myself. It was FOUL. Bad . Terrible. Everything nasty times 10. After I drained it I too a bunch of antibiotics and cleaned it with many dowses of plain ole lister one and it got better within 3 days. These cows are enduring 100x my pain. So yeah! I love this channel and I love what he does for them!
You know hoof pain and tooth pain are kind of similar when dealing with infections. In both cases the live, tender part is encased in a very strong, immovable outer shell that doesn’t let the infection swell like the infection is wont to do.
By praising Jack you give him incentive to become better. You are teaching with your videos and giving wisdom at the same time. But you also with the guys break tedium with a bit of comedy. Great stuff Graeme.👏👏👏👌👌👌👋👋👋😊😊😊
Jack seems to be a bit conservative on his trimming, which is better then being very aggressive. Unfortunate about him lowering the rear heel too much, but as GP said it wasn’t too bad. He’s definitely a force for good in that farm and is using every dollar of GP’s training course and tools.
I've been a city boy all my life. I found this Chanel several weeks ago and am amazed at the upkeep needed to keep farm animals healthy. My family visited Scotland a year ago. Very beautiful country and the people we met were very nice to us. Thank you for your post's and keep up the good work you do.
I tend to not comment on videos; I like, I subscribe, but I don't comment all that often. But I have to say, your videos are absolutely incredible! The way you care about these gentle giants is truly unmatched, and Scotland is lucky to have you as a hoof trimmer!
Hi Shade, likewise re commenting etc. I'm 69 and "late to the party" re youtube and now everything I subscribe to support them, plus you end up with (slightly) controlling the algorithms. This channel I am addicted to and thoroughly enjoying binge watching. Cheers from a kiwi 😊
I love your kindness and dedication to making the lives of these animals better. Your willingness to education and expansion of interest in your field is to be commended. I came for the pus and stayed for the rest.
It never fails to amaze me how good younare at your craft. Love watching you do trims like this, where your meticulousness and care is evident in every movement.
This goes to show that sometimes even the best of the best need a little luck. Letting us see your genuine surprise at when it popped really kept it real. No trying to act like you had a hunch it would happen. Just an honest admission that it almost got by you and gratitude that it didn’t.
The Crush seems to be an amazing bit of tech. Keeps the cows safe. Keeps you safe. I can't imagine how much this kind of machinery costs. I can imagine it's stupid expensive. I'm glad you're doing well enough to afford one!
These poor cows. I've been unfortunate enough to have a few abscesses in my life and they're incredibly painful. Thank you so much for helping them! 💕 🐮
I'm so happy to see that Kevin is doing so well after his surgery, you make them tough in Scotland. Thanks for another educational video, I have no need for the knowledge you share but I'm loving learning about it anyway. You all do an amazing job and you look after the cows so well as you have a genuine care for them. Xx
Wow, I have not been on RUclips for well over a year and my oh my, your channel has taken off getting over a million people to sub, well done you. I know you would have not thought your channel would take off the way it has. I remember that old crush you had and when you went to America to place an order for your crush it seems so long ago now. Well done I am so pleased for you and for showing the public just how much work goes into farm animals, they don't just live in a field they need lots of care like you going and taking such great care of their feet along with the stockman or women that do such a great job they know each animal and if they're off in some small way there on it fast.
That crack looks like it was well on it's way to becoming a problem when you found it. Thank goodness for dedicated trimmers like you (and Jack) who care about their cows' well-being~💝🐂

I remember when you were using your hand cobbled crush and the crush of your dreams was the Appleton Steel. You were so thrilled when you got it. I still give a smile when I think back to those days when10k subs was so far away. 🤣
Your killing it on RUclips, I remember watching and being subscribed when you were only a couple hundred. Good for you!!!! You actually wrote me back once which was really good. Cheers to you and your success. Keep up the great videos
Oh my goodness…great to see the Appleton back in action…I remember your ‘custom’ crush and when the Appleton was the crush of your dreams…look how far you’ve come… you deserve it for your hard work and dedication to your craft ❤
So I love your videos, I worked for a funeral home that dealt with my cities corners office, and saw so much death, and gruesome things it kinda scared me, but it also made me miss the gore, you have allowed me to see the gore, and it in a helpful way, you help these cows, and I feel since it’s not someone like me I can watch,it has help me break my issues, no more dreams of all the closed eyes.. all of the faces. All the crying families. The job broke me and this videos have help me back together.
I love the places that routinely get their animals' hooves trimmed, I hope the cows get happy when they see you guys pulling up for their routine mani/pedi 💅
It never clicked for me that the Appleton was still in the shop all this time. Crazy how much damage something as simple as tipping over can do to something that looks as imposing and solid as that machine.
Oddly, I had the opposite intuition! Something that heavy falls hard, but something light can't hurt itself with its own weight. Like how toddlers fall all the time with no damage done, but adults can't do that
I didn't know you still had the Appleton. I missed it too. Thank you for using it again, it does bring back memories. Maybe a bit of oil here and there?
I randomly found his channel I thought he was setting it up or something but when I found Craig's video on my recommendation videos I'm like "he made it, bravo.... Hey how in the world did the hoof gp get here on his video cx" Bravo to the both of you
I am so excited my order from you will be here tomorrow. I am currently in the hospital, so knowing that it will be waiting for me when I get makes me happy.
I've been here since 10,000. Now nearing 2 million subs, all goes to prove, stick to what you know and are passionate about, and success will be yours. I mentioned this channel to friends and relations, most sniggered initially, ALL are now subscribed , and none are remotely from a farming background. Addiction is a strange creature 😉
I just wanna say... his voice is so relaxing for some reason. Like, I turn on one of these videos, and two videos later when I'm tired, I'm completely asleep... and I wake up when someone else speaks.

Fistulas are basically a tract. They can connect two places/organs. Or they can just be a tunnel out. Look up enterocutaneous or atmospheric fistulas ( they are like the manhole up out of the sewer system)
16 goddamn 😭
@LAT I was wondering if it was crohns disease as well as I've had it since I was a little girl and fistulas are common place.
Wow- a friend of mine had a lot of surgeries for his legs because the bones with twisted into the wrong position , but I don’t think he’s gone all the way up to 16!
God Bless this cow and the hands that helped her. 💜🙏💜
Great video! I love your total honesty. It's so refreshing and we learn so much more than if you glossed over events. The updates are brilliant because we feel included (us armchair trimmers!). The cows are lucky to have you and Kev...and Jack!
For a moment I thought Graham was driving on the correct side of the road!

THESE COWS MUST BE SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU GUYS 😊😊😊😊
I'm surprised the cows aren't head- butting each other to be first in line for the crush!
I always love watching your spraying action and how much you care about each individual trim and especially if there's a problem. 😊👍❤️🐄
I love how you and your guys love the cows and keeping them well taken care of
I love GP's obvious care for the cows. ❤
Hopefully when you show her to us again next time she's feeling much better and the vet has been able to help her
It never fails to amaze me how good younare at your craft. Love watching you do trims like this, where your meticulousness and care is evident in every movement.
So cool that cows are observant enough to tell the difference between crushes...they're not do dumb...❤
This goes to show that sometimes even the best of the best need a little luck. Letting us see your genuine surprise at when it popped really kept it real. No trying to act like you had a hunch it would happen. Just an honest admission that it almost got by you and gratitude that it didn’t.
Now that trim made my day and hers also. Thank you my family think I’m a sicko but I love your trims.
You’re not a sicko, you’re a fellow member of the heard 😅
The Crush seems to be an amazing bit of tech. Keeps the cows safe. Keeps you safe. I can't imagine how much this kind of machinery costs. I can imagine it's stupid expensive. I'm glad you're doing well enough to afford one!
This channel so satisfies my daily requirement of "gross yet fascinating" quotient. So satisfying seeing the cows helped. Thanks boyos!
Anyone else here scrolling through metal videos and found themselves watching 2 hours of bovine podiatry videos instead?
They are so addictive for some reason
Yes indeed! And I'm enjoying myself.
Me too. Can’t stop.
Happens to the best of us. Now your algorithm will give you endless opportunities to learn words like “corium”, “white line” and “fistula”.
@@michellejohnson7079 😂 I’m dead!! 😂😂
I remember when the Appleton Steel was the new crush. The visit to the factory and Aaron LeVoy was fun.
Those were good days. Graeme's channel was really starting to take off then
These poor cows.
Xx
Poor cow. That’d hurt so bad. Glad for you and people like you.
Love your genuine care of the cows!! They are blessed to have you and your team looking after them.
Ребята молодцы работаете с душой здоровья вам и вашим хвостатым, рогатым поциэнтам😊
I love hearing all the birds that sing around you while you are working. It’s easy to identify them by their song. I hope you find them special too :)
That crack looks like it was well on it's way to becoming a problem when you found it. Thank goodness for dedicated trimmers like you (and Jack) who care about their cows' well-being~💝🐂
You are always amazing to watch… You take such gentle care of each and every cow 🐮. Well done, from one American Scott to another….🎉
I would love an update on this last cow. I hope she gets better. 😮
Another enjoyable trip to Scotland you’ve given me. Thanks for bringing us into your world.😊
I love your opening song, your shorter hair, AND your rapport with your brothers-in-law! Of course, I love your channel, no matter how your hair is cut!! Or not cut!! We learn something every video! And Scotland is gorgeous! I have many relatives from Scotland. Love you and your family!
I agree😂
You are a miracle worker! Thank you for helping all these cows and bulls ❤❤❤
J
I love your videos. It's plain to see how much you care for the cows you treat. And the bonus laughs are great too. 😊
I remember when you were using your hand cobbled crush and the crush of your dreams was the Appleton Steel. You were so thrilled when you got it. I still give a smile when I think back to those days when10k subs was so far away. 🤣
Thanks for caring for these creatures!
Your killing it on RUclips, I remember watching and being subscribed when you were only a couple hundred. Good for you!!!! You actually wrote me back once which was really good. Cheers to you and your success. Keep up the great videos
Really good lol I meant really cool
Thank you for helping and caring for the cows. You are beautiful human beings! Bessie the cow said thank you❤❤!
It’s great to see Kevin doing well!!
Great job, to help the animals have some relief from the pain. ❤
👍
I am so glad to see you back to what you looked like when I first watching your channel….short hair,,,beautiful curls!!
I’ve been watching this channel for a couple years and I’m just realizing this man is fine as hell. Wow
Yes he is!!
@majinlou7 😂😂😂🎉🎉 I was just thinking 🤔 the same hunny….. yessss he is!!! Ur right 💯💯✅✅✅💥💥👌🏽👍🏽
@majinlou7 😂😂😂🎉🎉 I was just thinking 🤔 the same hunny….. yessss he is!!! Ur right 💯💯✅✅✅💥💥👌🏽👍🏽
Helll yhhh he is…..❤❤❤ 🔥
I agree 😊❤
Oh my goodness…great to see the Appleton back in action…I remember your ‘custom’ crush and when the Appleton was the crush of your dreams…look how far you’ve come… you deserve it for your hard work and dedication to your craft ❤
Way to go, Jack and Graham, you're a family man, and there are not too many left❤
Like how toddlers fall all the time with no damage done, but adults can't do that
Glad to see a farmer taking care of their animals 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love that you build up and support your peers, and correct without criticizing.
Not to worry, Graeme, we get what you were trying to say! Hope that cow gets her sore foot looked at or medicated! Great content as usual!
I didn't know you still had the Appleton. I missed it too.
Thank you for using it again, it does bring back memories.
Maybe a bit of oil here and there?
Sir, I appreciate that you display the flags properly, even for countries that are not your own. Cheers
Glad to see you doing better. Take care of yourself. Good to see the Appleton back. Have a great weekend ❤️✌️🐄
I love how you constantly remind people that these cows are well taken care of.
Hi. Awesome as always. I would love to see updated drone footage of your house. Have a great day!
The work you do is amazing, you have eased her pain.
😊I love your channel and your concern for the cows. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the longer post. I do enjoy watching your post when they are over 10 min long. Be safe everybody and God bless you all!!!
I randomly found his channel
I thought he was setting it up or something but when I found Craig's video on my recommendation videos I'm like "he made it, bravo.... Hey how in the world did the hoof gp get here on his video cx"
Bravo to the both of you
I am so excited my order from you will be here tomorrow. I am currently in the hospital, so knowing that it will be waiting for me when I get makes me happy.
I've been here since 10,000.
Now nearing 2 million subs, all goes to prove, stick to what you know and are passionate about, and success will be yours. I mentioned this channel to friends and relations,
most sniggered initially, ALL are now subscribed , and none are remotely from a farming background. Addiction is a strange creature 😉
I just wanna say... his voice is so relaxing for some reason. Like, I turn on one of these videos, and two videos later when I'm tired, I'm completely asleep... and I wake up when someone else speaks.
Love the video format. Wish more people used it! And great job btw, really love your vids and it's so nice to see how much you help the cows!! ❤️
When I first found you on Facebook I never knew cows boots were trimmed I'm a city girl 61 years old in USA I live in Indiana but I'm hooked I have learned so much about your gifting trade because it is a gift to every cow you trim bless your heart for caring so much about the cows you treat I like you miss the cream on top of milk and good ice cream doesn't exist anymore I remember when milk was delivered to our house in bottles when I was amid now milk doesn't taste the same bless you and your family
You three are all fine looking! 👍👍 You make a great team. Good to see Kevin looking comfortable.
I love your humor and your kindness towards your 🐄
Absolutely fab. Not picking away at a student’s work, but grading it like a teacher in school would…. Good job but room for improvement Jack,
With a little more practice he’s going to improve even more.
When are you back at low drummore
The steams good for your complexion. You crack me up!!
Great videos.
i really enjoy these longer videos, you should make more!
I love the longer ones too but some of his viewers complain about them. I think that's why he tries to mix it up
