Probably one of my favourite videos so far. The routine of the trim, the teamwork and anticipation, and the camaraderie and banter is lovely to watch. The occasional issue is great to see too, but I really enjoy the routine and the flow through best. Keep up the good work team, and by team I also mean your families as you couldn't do such a good job without the support behind you.

It’s no wonder that last lady was talking to you. She was telling you that she has a problem and she’s glad you are here to fix it. I truly believe that the cows do know that you are there to help them even if they don’t understand what it is that you do.

From what I’ve seen of other videos, they seem like they may just switch to a new set of tools in that case (new knife and new grinder blade). I’m not a part of the team though so take my word with a grain of salt.
No logro entender por qué no lava la pata de la vaca antes de comenzar a sacar la infección con el mismo utensilio...Al juntar estiércol con el utensilio lleva más infección a esa herida. 😮
Cordless car washer helps wash the hooves. A dip of knife in Iodine solution can sterilise the knives or heating the knives with a small butane / torch can sterilise the knives.
@@hanab1s1gn76I know they always clean the crush before moving on to other next farm so as not to cross contaminate but not sure about the knives or grinder blades but cross contamination is up there as a great concern and they always do their best to prevent it..

This was a great video. It's always good to see both the good feet and the bad. It's always good to see a bad foot be treated, and even better to be reminded that the goal of it all is to have as many "uninteresting" routine trims as possible.

I love watching these vids, its very doubtful i will ever trim a cows hoof but its still soooo intresting to watch, another thing i love is how honest you are, some people would never admit that they didnt expect the cavities to be there nor would they admit that they went very slighty too deep on one of the cuts but you do, its what makes you a fantastic teacher and also a great person to watch 💖 As for Craig i will admit he really made me laugh when he said about his costa cup, im sure your mugs are superior to costas anyday 😊💖😊
Great to see the run of the mill trims along with some problem trims. I’m a horseman myself but live in dairy farming community. And work at a local feed and farm supply store. Love your content
It's great you spent some time at the front end of the cow this video :). I'm sure the scratches and attention helps with their stress level. True cowpassion. :)
He showed a cow awhile ago that just didn't get better and was getting worse. He mentioned that the hoof got to be so painful that the only humane thing to do was what was necessary. A true loss.😞
Yes unfortunately. Some result in a toe amputation but its rare. I think Graeme showed one cow last year that had one toe. Others their feet are always weak and need constant care. In the wild they would just die or be hunted down.
I love the sound of her soft, low moos. Very soothing. Graeme, go ahead and get yourself a cow. Maybe a nice little Jersey. Or a Scottish Highlander. Or both! 😉😄
I LOVE that you care so much about all the cows you care for. It is good therapy to watch you guys making happy cows and bulls. Thank you so much for sharing! (Also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your beautiful accent too!)
Wowie. What a hoof. Poor lil lady. I just found your channel about a month ago. Y' all have been my favorite channel and main watch since. So glad to see Y'all are still going strong and doing great. I watched your videos while prepping for Thanksgiving(read: up til 1 am making 18 pies, cooking the items I could to have them ready to throw together on the day.) - and, I was trimming the bottoms.off celery, and one end that had a crack/split, was right beside another- and I heard your voice say, " this, is a white line defect. We need to trim away at the Crack to make sure there are no more issues, and hollow it out, or, soften the sharp edges, and make a way for the slurry to not get stuck, and make things, much worse." 😅 Love the new merch. Congrats on all.
The average dairy farm has what 500 minimum to 1200 cows it seems from the channels I watch. Your videos cover 1 or 2 problems per video. So through out your week you see I'm guessing let's say 10 cows a week tops that are a problem out of several 100 you see a week. So that's about 1% have an issue.
500-1200 is maybe a little much for Europe but your analogy makes sense not the less. My mum was an podiatrist (hoofcare for mostly people with diabetes if you will) and the amount of people with problematic feet is probably in the same range if not higher.
Not all of the cows are done at a time. I believe in a previous video he stated that they may only see 20 to 60 at a time. And then a different group the next time they go to that farm. The vast majority don't have any problems.
I was worried about that last cow’s hoof wounds were on the verge of toe necrosis. Would it have progressed into that? I’m glad that you caught it in time.
Have been watching for some time. I really appreciate that the majority of this video is focused on the normal operation of trimming the cows. It is a pleasure to watch.

I have noticed you never take off huge chunks of horn other than the first cut of the heel bulb. That shows just how careful you are. Then I saw the lesion bleed just from spraying it with the bottle and realized how delicate and prone to injury that tissue is.

Greatest satisfaction to know these beautiful animals are getting treated and have less pain!! Thank you for helping them!!
I love your background music...and how you love taking care of the cows. ❤
The last trim... bless that poor cow! My heart just melted seeing her face & how much you truly care about these beautiful creatures. I hope she heals up nicely without any complications!
The best about your show, is that we the people who watched it know that you really care about this cow's, really appreciate it
Those cuts at 17:48 are absolutely amazing! The amount of precision required is mind blowing.
Great camera angle to show it, too!
I grew up on a farm with beef cows. I always have found cows to be wonderful, fun animals. Watching you brings back memories of my dad trimming hooves. Thank you.
It’s no wonder that last lady was talking to you. She was telling you that she has a problem and she’s glad you are here to fix it. I truly believe that the cows do know that you are there to help them even if they don’t understand what it is that you do.
Fun fact: Did you know that cows have a good memory and remember who you are. Some cows even fall in love with humans, so a cow could potentially be your soulmate.
@@LucyIsStarthats so cute i love cows
Im crying it truely makes her feel she was more than just one of the cow's you worked on. She know you cared beyond just the working in her sore foot. You showed her you personally care and don't mean ti cause her more pain. I could feel her energy and it was such loving thank you energy. N she could feel your❤
Hello! My three girls and I love watching The Hoof GP! We haven been watching now for over a year and have been fascinated with trim! We are so amazed with your knowledge and skill as you address each hoof and impressed with the level of care you show for each cow! Watching all the way from SC, USA!
Wow Grahame❗️What precision with that hoof trim it looks very complicated and you did an excellent job with her 🐄🫶🏼👍🏼
Hello to the herd! Graeme, I love the mention of the herd on the coffee mug. I'm not a hoof trimmer, but thanks to your great teaching I'm surprised how much of the terminology I know & steps of trimming. I love that those sweet cows get some head rubs & a bit of love while in the crush.
💚 🐄 🧡 🐂 💚
It has become my routine to watch these videos at around dinnertime as I wait for food to finish cooking :)
I've been watching since the middle of lockdown and it never gets boring seeing you enthusiastic, happy and helping these cows feel better. 😊
Ditto, ditto, ditto.
I so enjoy seeing you make these cows more comfortable. They give us a lot. It is nice to see them taken care of. ❤
I was so deep in concentration watching G trim away the cow’s super thin layer of hoof horn that when it cut to Craig ready with the block and glue, all goofy , I busted out laughing! 😂 It’s a pleasure how you all work well together for the good of these beautiful cows. 🐄
I have been watching your channel forever, I would love to thank you for helping animals that can’t help themselves, you are a angel in Gods eyes. God Bless you and your family and friends.
Oh man, you are just the sweetest guy who really cares for the lucky gals who get your affection. Because of you, they will trust us humans and enjoy their lives. There’s so many precious ladies who could only wish to get your gentle hand. God Bless You, and your friends!
This was great to watch. A splendid job, well done + more so, giving her a wee cuddle was really special! 😁🐄💕
This has gotten randomly recommended to me and I absolutely love it. I grew up on a farm and used to help the hoof trimmer with our cows. We unfortunately had to sell our farm and cows included due to increasing issues of South Africa and farms. Thank you for your work, cows would suffer without your work.
Nehh bru us I Namibia are babalas😂
That sucks, I hate when small family operations are pushed out my the corporate machine! Esp. It's a good business that cares for its customers, it's finished product and esp. It's commodity if it's a living thing.
Fantastic as always. I absolutely love seeing the care and attention you give to those lovely cows. You three are the perfect team doing your absolute best for the animals, and that really comes across in your videos. Keep up the excellent work!
I so love that you are such a great team! Graeme you giving love to the cow by giving her rubs just so how much you care about animals 😊❤
Thank you so much for helping them. Cows are such gentle giants. It's wonderful to see you actually love them and care for them too.
Lovely to see you taking such good care of these lovely animals. A labour of love. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you from Spain.
I love the banter between you and your bro- in - laws .... it makes me giggle. Not only do you love your job......you get to do it with your family at the same time...and make awesome videos as well .....luv from Australia
i cant believe im hooked on watching cows feet being trimmed ..im lovin it...his accent and the trimming is so therapeutic..!!!
I have learned so much about cow's since watching your video's please continue your work your truly making a difference for the cow's and farmer's your helping.
It's good to see you petting and loving on the cow to calm her down.. Someone who loves his job
If digital dermatitis is so infectious do you have to sterilize your blades or tools prior to starting the next cow
From what I’ve seen of other videos, they seem like they may just switch to a new set of tools in that case (new knife and new grinder blade). I’m not a part of the team though so take my word with a grain of salt.
Yeah they sanitize them or change the knifes and blades. That’s what the other guys do. Lol getting the tools ready for the next.
When I’ve had enough of this world and so much of its nonsense, I catch a HGP video and it’s chicken soup and good vibes 😎 all around! Thank you HGP and the Team there…I believe I’d prefer to be a cow in your care than a witness to the opposite of Peace on Earth Good Will To Men that is all around. You guys are the BEST weather no matter the storm everywhere else. Peace ☮️ and Love ❤️ to you and yours. Thanks for being there.
Man I love it when you do videos that are this long. More content and more we learn. Need more content this long
I cried a little bit for the cow, but seeing how you do your job and caring for this cow made me cry a bit more. Thank you for making a difference and say cheers to the farmer. It’s beautiful to see that they care for their animals 💜
This was a great video. It's always good to see both the good feet and the bad. It's always good to see a bad foot be treated, and even better to be reminded that the goal of it all is to have as many "uninteresting" routine trims as possible.
I love all the cuddles and pets you gave her. They know you're just helping them and I'm sure she felt much better after the pets.
Great video - and that last trim was incredible...the cavities just kept going! Thank you for helping these lovely animals ❤️🐄💗🐄💕
Never thought it would take 8 months to regrow, but with that level of depth it foes make sense
GP: I am so glad for you and Ashley that you have chosen a career path so rewarding. It is refreshing to see a man doing such meaningful work in this world. I chose to be a computer programmer, and I have greatly enjoyed using my skill in this direction for the needs of businesses, but displaying reports and processing rows of information haven't given themselves to a record of leaving the world better than I found it, nor have I been able to drive through beautiful Scottish countryside! Maybe RBS needs a good computer man from the States? Cheers, sir, you make a very big difference, and I wish you every success.
I love watching these vids, its very doubtful i will ever trim a cows hoof but its still soooo intresting to watch, another thing i love is how honest you are, some people would never admit that they didnt expect the cavities to be there nor would they admit that they went very slighty too deep on one of the cuts but you do, its what makes you a fantastic teacher and also a great person to watch 💖
As for Craig i will admit he really made me laugh when he said about his costa cup, im sure your mugs are superior to costas anyday 😊💖😊
Great to see the run of the mill trims along with some problem trims. I’m a horseman myself but live in dairy farming community. And work at a local feed and farm supply store. Love your content
That last trim was just amazing work. Im looking forward to seeing her in a future episode.
It's great you spent some time at the front end of the cow this video :). I'm sure the scratches and attention helps with their stress level. True cowpassion. :)
I love that you’ve begun to add a lot of music again. It’s very relaxing and helped me through the pandemic when I first discovered your videos.
Poor Craig!!! Sending you a hug and a kiss from Ohio, USA!!!
Does a hoof ever get beyond you or vet's care. You are so loving to everyone, animal and human alike. The world needs more people like you. ❤
He showed a cow awhile ago that just didn't get better and was getting worse.
He mentioned that the hoof got to be so painful that the only humane thing to do was what was necessary.
A true loss.😞
Toe necrosis
Yes unfortunately. Some result in a toe amputation but its rare. I think Graeme showed one cow last year that had one toe. Others their feet are always weak and need constant care. In the wild they would just die or be hunted down.
You were so sweet to her giving her pets to calm her down ❤
I love the sound of her soft, low moos.
I love the love you show for the animals you service. You are an amazing person! 19:59
We need to trim away at the Crack to make sure there are no more issues, and hollow it out, or, soften the sharp edges, and make a way for the slurry to not get stuck, and make things, much worse."
😅
Love the new merch. Congrats on all.
I love how the cows are just extended in the air, they are probably loving it getting the weight off their feet and being able to just relax
I love the shirts! I have enjoyed watching your channel for a few years now and it always brightens my day when HoofGP posts. Have an amazing day
Love the cups!!!!!! I watch you and I love that you guys have so much compassion for these animals 💜🙏🏼🙏🏼💜🫶🏼👊🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🤩
Yeah, id love to hear some statistics on that. 😊
Eight months! Wow. I’m glad you said that, I wanted to ask but didn’t want to sound foolish.
Yep
Your love caring and compassion for these animals is always appreciated and respected, thank you.
Aww, sweet girl ❤ hoping she heals super fast. I love that there's room for fun and brotherly love as well as trimming 🥰
She looks very grateful 🥹. She is a beautiful girl.❤
Those are some really neat looking shirts 👕 my disability check doesn't get in for a couple of weeks yet, I do hope you will have a mug left but doubt if I can be on time for your shirts. However that certainly doesn't take away from how awesome they really are, teaching and 😊 tailored 😊 who knew you were such an amazing designer.❤😊 Once again another great video. Very relaxing and love to watch. God bless your whole team. ❤😊 Big Hello from Angola Indiana You guys are the best!!!
I'm a new watcher and the love and care you show the cows makes me so happy.
This was an extremely satisfying trim to watch. Always appreciate the care you put into your work.
Y’all are so great with these fur babies ❤ I will have to get a t-shirt and a coffee mug ☕️. I enjoy watching all of y’all work together and make the cows 🐄 happy 😊
I love how you put your brothers in law to work for you ❤❤❤ so nice it help you and them and now creg has his own channel 🥳
You are so sweet to the cows! I love to see someone who really cares about the animals!
I have noticed you never take off huge chunks of horn other than the first cut of the heel bulb. That shows just how careful you are. I used to be concerned when the animal would bleed, thinking perhaps you were not paying attention as you should. Then I saw the lesion bleed just from spraying it with the bottle and realized how delicate and prone to injury that tissue is.
Started watching your videos a while back hooked on them !! It’s great to see the kindness you and your guys show to the cows .. my wife wants a pet cow !! Hello from the USA!!!
I am financially strained and can’t afford your lovely merch. I do, however, love watching your videos and drinking coffee with you guys…your mugs are sooo cute. I am a retired nurse and am fascinated by what you do. Keep up the good work and I will see ya on the next one ❤
As someone that works in healthcare finance in the US, I thank you for your service.
I’m not sure where you are, but if you’re in the US, I know how thankless bedside nursing can be here, so here’s to a well-earned retirement!
@@Trix897 Thank you. I have lived in Georgia in the US all my life. It is a thankless job but…I really miss it
