Perhaps a new perspective of the constitution is necessary?
It is pretty obvious the varied perspectives of cops, government actors and such, and the citizens who are sick and tired of the endless invasions, interruptions, inconveniences, and poor service but how about the men who wrote it and why?
Those men wrote these civil protections as preventative measures due to HISTORY of human behavior.

I am a former police officer, for the USAF, and we were taught to investigate first, before contact. If you see something suspicious, you observe, unless that incident is happening in a restricted area, where you have to display your RAB at all times, and you lose all your rights within that area. But in base housing, the US Constitution still applies, so we had to have probable cause to stop somebody! If I saw a suspicious activity, would call it in, observe, run the tag and then either contact if probably cause allowed it, or go on without any contact!

Yeah but everyone knows that the both the training and expectations of civilan police is dismal! I would immediately be more comfortable if general soldiers replaced police tomorrow and it's not like they have the appropriate training either but we both train them well and expect them to perform their jobs correctly or there's consequences even if sometimes those consequences are from each other and not formal!

I don't think you need probable cause to say "hi." Requesting id is nothing more than a request. More like a neighborly chat..

Gotta love James Free-man, those impromptu calls are underappreciated!
As for them violating Braxton's rights, this thing of ours called rights will disappear if we don't exercise them.
The fact that the police chief says what Braxton did was legal, but in the same sentence commended his officer's instead of owning their mistakes is the problem.
TOGETHER we stand, divided we fall isn't just a trendy slogan people! ✌🏿

3:45 Hey Chief! What you do is you stay back and observe, then approach when you see actual suspicious activity -- such as the driver getting out and stopping at and peering inside other vehicles.
P.S. You're right, people exercising their rights makes your job more difficult -- deal with it!

Speaking as someone who drives through winterville everyday and who was in that town 10 minutes ago, it's well know that the whole police force in that town is looking for any reason possible to arrest someone. I will not have dinner there because the police sit sit across from the restaurants every single night watching anyone coming and going, including tonight.
